Awesome location - w/ amazing views of the marsh [and sunsets] on one side and the ocean on the other! Just steps to the beach w/ easy access... Located on quieter end of Folly Beach - PERFECT! Homeowner, Jack, was very responsive - he was so kind and made sure we were comfortable before, during and after our stay! .

Jack’s house is a treasure. The views from the back along with the views from the front are unmatched on Folly Island. The mattresses are extremely comfortable, and the showers have amazing water pressure! The kitchen is well stocked, and the furniture is great for a larger group. The back porch was my favorite place to be. Especially if it was too windy or the tide was too high to be on the beach… we would sit on one of the two upstairs balconies, or just enjoy ourselves on the back porch, or the back deck, with the most beautiful view of the marsh!

We booked Jack’s home for two months. Communication with him was instant and easy, he replied to our messages within the hour. We spoke a few times, to organised our arrival times, so that he could be there to greet us and show us around his home. We instantly felt ‘at home’, the house is obviously loved and cared for, it give off a welcoming that most rentals don’t have. The kitchen is fully stocked with most equipment to prepare meals. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are really comfortable and we slept extremely well, always a bonus in a short term holiday let. There really was nothing to find fault with, the house was perfect for us. Jack’s house has a beautiful location along Folly beach, one row back from the beach, to give some shelter from the wind but with all the beauty of the views. The front and rear decks on both floors have mesmerising views morning through to sunset. It’s a peaceful place to escape, but close enough to Folly centre to enjoy the buzz of the town. We have already booked our return trip to this wonderful home. We’re very much looking forward to Jack’s easy going hospitality.

Fabulous views of water (ocean and marsh) from every room! It is a lovely home and we enjoyed every minute of our stay!

We have stayed many locations on Folly and surrounding area but this was by far our favorite. In short, it truly felt like a home, not some sterile rent-a-box. From the amazing views front and back, dozens of unique art, and beautiful plants everywhere, the house was amazing. Very short walk to beach, unobstructed ocean views, and sunsets NOT to be believed. Truly a little piece of heaven. We certainly look forward to returning in the future.

We had an amazing time at this rental. The house was the perfect size for our 6 person group, very spacious with incredible views of either the ocean or marsh from all rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on all the different decks, whether it was dolphin watching, bird watching, or having a nap on the hammock. We brought our two dogs and they had a blast as well! It was easy to let them out since the downstairs backyard was fenced in. The location on Folly Beach was great also! A couple steps from the beach, with surf competitions and yoga on the beach all within walking distance. The house was a 10 min drive to downtown Folly Beach where the restaurants were. Overall we had an amazing trip and would definitely stay at this location again.

This was a great location and pet friendly. There is an outside fenced area for dogs and doggy gates on the porches. View the ocean from the front porch and watch the sunset over the marsh from the back porch. Great property.

good time

This is a very nice property across from the ocean and very homey in a good way. It is comfortable and lived in. It could use a bit of cleaning though as it appears it has not been thoroughly cleaned in awhile. Also, the owner could provide a bit more information about how the place works like how to lock tricky doors etc. But overall a very nice visit.

The house suited our family perfectly. We loved the screened in back porch with views of the marsh and the front porch with views of the ocean. The kitchen had everything we needed and John was there to greet us and get us checked in and out right on time. We will definitely come back!

Great location, perfect layout for our family and Folly speaks for itself. Some cleanliness issues with the house but owner said he’d take care of it. We would stay there again.

Wonderful house for a family get together. Welcoming front and back decks/porches allow for maximizing time outside. Very appreciative that the house is pet friendly too as our dogs loved the trip too! Would definitely highly recommend !

This is our fourth time staying at Coastings and it gets better and better each time! It's the perfect house to bring the family and have friends over. Every room has a view of the water. The kitchen is well equipped and perfect for cooking and entertaining. Great porches and balconies and easy access to beach. The outdoor shower is the bomb! Will be back for sure!

My family of 5 (with 3 tweens/teens), my 70-something parents, and our dog all stayed in this wonderfully homey beach house. It has the convenience of being a short walk to the beach with the added peace of being backed up by the marsh. From any seat in the house you have a view of some gorgeous part of nature. The house was very clean, had everything you would need, and has many vibrant healthy house plants and an eclectic art collection, making it a unique and interesting place to have family dinners, play games, or bird watch from the decks. The upstairs suite is romantic and spacious so even if you are there with kids, you can steal a moment in the little sitting area of the bedroom to sip your tea, watch the waves, read a book or just find a peaceful moment. We will be going back for sure!

We stayed at this lovely house during our spring break and we brought our dog. The location of this house is absolutely perfect. It is right across the street from the beach and the lot directly in front of it is empty--so the views are spectacular! The house is very homey and has everything you could ever need and the owner is very friendly and accommodating. He was available for restaurant and other area-specific recommendations. Highly recommend! (our dog also highly recommends b/c it was his first time at the beach and HE LOVED IT!--the fenced in dog area of the yard was a plus, too!)

This is so much more than a "beach house." The whole family was very comfortable and had a wonderful stay. The home was as described,clean and well maintained. While we had no problems the checked to be sure everything was ok. We would higly recommend this home and Folly is always fun.

A group of four spent New Years week of 2015 at this beautiful beach house. The house is well appointed with plenty of space for the 4 of us. The living areas are quite comfortable and we were able to cook great meals in the kitchen. There is ample deck/porch space a with gorgeous views of the backwater marsh and views of the ocean across the street. Beautiful sunlight fills the house in the morning. The house is on the north end of Folly Beach and is VERY quiet (not much traffic) and made for a relaxing winter stay. If we ever need to stay on Folly Beach again, we will come here. Thanks for a great stay!

I've rented houses for years and this one is at the top of my list. Not only do you have front porch ocean views and back porch marsh views but you can get the same views from the upstairs spacious master bedroom and bathroom. I loved the comforts of home and location. The house was very neat and clean plus it would be ideal any time of year. I'm looking forward to going back this summer.

Our family members, friends and pets enjoyed many relaxing and exhilarating hours at Coasting at 1566. There are incredible views of both marsh and ocean from porches on main and upper floors. The sunsets across the marsh are amazing! The house is located adjacent to 'The Washout', a favorite site for local surfers, providing a great spot for visiting active surfers and armchair surfers. The house is roomy and comfortable - the kind of place that makes you want to kick off your shoes, boil up some crabs, pop a cold one and sit on the deck with friends and family...a classic Folly Beach experience!

The property was just as presented....personal, warm and very comfortable for our Charleston Christmas vacation. The views are magnificent of the ocean and marsh. Our family of 5 people and two dogs had a great time. The owner was very helpful. When he met us on arrival, he had already decorated the inside of the house with Christmas lights. We stopped by the seafood market to pick up some Oysters & shrimp as we were arriving on Folly beach to enjoy our favorite vacation beach house for a weekend get away. With the Folly River out back and the Atlantic ocean out front, this home has almost 360 degree views of the ocean and the marsh with fantastic sunrises and sunsets... especially from the upstairs master bedroom. The only interruption in the view is the artwork, decor and photos. The well appointed kitchen made it easy to cook up a romantic meal or just roast some oysters to eat on the back porch at sunset. We will return several times this year. Thanks for the nice place to relax!
