What a beautiful home! My wife, Sandy, is an elementary school teacher and we needed to find a nice place to relax and chill over her Spring Break. Well, we found it. Ed, the owner, was most gracious and wanted to make sure we had a great time. He was very easy to talk to and gave us pointers on a few things around the house. It was well stocked, very clean, the hot tub/pool was fantastic, and plenty to do around the area. Very enjoyable and we hope to be back to The Waters Edge soon.

My husband and I stayed at this property for 6 weeks. We loved the house and all the different outdoor locations you can hang out depending on the weather. The kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals and the beds were comfortable. We liked sitting at the veranda and watching the fish jump in the canal. The jacuzzi was a big plus, since it wasn't necessarily pool weather in February. We also liked having the Weeki Wachee Preserve so close by to take bike rides and walks. The only complaint we have is that there was a lot of construction noise due to one neighbor renovating his house and the other installing an inground pool, but that is not something the owner was in control of. Ed was super responsive when we had questions, always got back to us right away and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.

Everything about the property was great and exactly as listed.

We spent eleven wonderful days in Ed’s beautiful home. The house was spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated to an extremely high standard; the beds were very comfortable and as for the surroundings, the pool, the pier and the yard, you would never have guessed that Hurricane Idalia had swept through only a few days previously. All was pristine – with plenty of comfortable seats to enjoy the sunshine. Kayaks and bicycles were provided, although we never made use of them. Plenty of catfish available from the pier though – we left a rod for others to use Ed was very responsive when we had a small problem with the entry code on arrival and the issue was speedily resolved. Similar immediate help was given with starting up the pool spa and thereafter we encountered no more problems during our stay. The home is situated in a quiet residential area, where we felt very safe taking a stroll early morning. Shops and restaurants were only a short drive away. The surrounding countryside was stunning - woodlands and wetlands bordering the quieter roads. If it were possible to give this place more than five stars, we would certainly do so. Thank you so much, Ed, for sharing your wonderful home. Were we not now getting too old for transatlantic flights, we would be back next year for sure!

Our trip was definitely dampened by Hurricane Idalia! But Ed came through for us and we had an amazing time at his house! We had to wait out the storm in Georgia so we missed the first two nights at the house. Ed was so easy to work with and kept in constant communication about the weather conditions. He immediately refunded those two nights since it wasn’t safe for us to be in the area. The area was horribly affected but Ed’s house was built high enough and the pool survived too. The house is beautiful, well stocked, has all the amenities and was exactly what we were looking for. The pool and spa were amazing. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable and the house is just as pictured. Ed responded immediately to all of our concerns. If it weren’t for our constant communication, we may have cancelled the trip with the storm coming. But we knew what was going on through it all. He even bought a crockpot when I asked him ahead of time if they have one! We will definitely stay there again!

We had a fantastic stay at Waters Edge! The home was just as pictured with phenomenal amenities, warmth and decor. This is a PERFECT Florida get-away home with your own pool and spa. The screened in area is a major plus! Ed was extremely helpful and responded quickly to any of our questions. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property to friends and family! Bravo to Ed!

Very nice relaxing home. Owner was very responsive to questions and home was well described in ad. Pool and hot tub was a plus. Location is close to everything but very quiet at night. We will definitely be back!

Everything we wanted. Pool. Hot tub. Kayaks. We were able to rent a boat and jet skis within 2 miles of the house. Great TV and recliners for the evenings. Perfect multi level deck for morning coffee! Lots of good dining close by. Easy and direct ride to airport. Ed was fast at communicating with us when needed.

We really enjoyed our week here! Pool and hot tub were awesome, and Ed was quick to respond when we had a couple questions. Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our time here. Having the pool available and outside seating was very nice. The location worked great for us as we have family and friends who live in Spring Hill. Communication with the owner was great. We will be back!

The house, pool/hot tub, and surrounding area were fantastic!!! We enjoyed taking morning walks and checking out all the other homes. We were worried about the stairs and spiral staircase, due to our ages 60+. But, they never caused any problems. Restaurants and bars are all within 5 miles. Ed was available to talk when we needed any information. He is a great host.

The location is so convenient with parks, a marina and restaurants close by. Having the bikes available was an extra bonus. Easy channel access to get out and start your water adventure and you can finish the day off soaking in the hot tub. Highly recommend!

Just got home from a long weekend stay. Fantastic house with all the amenities of home. We loved how close the house was to the boat ramp and how quickly we were out in the channel. The kayaks were a nice bonus and coming in after a long day on the water for a dip in the pool was the best! Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful well maintained home! We had a great relaxing vacation! We enjoyed relaxing by the pool , cooking out on the grill. We also enjoyed the many great restaurants and bars on the beach. We look forward to staying here again!

We had a great stay in the Black Pearl, and it is truly a Pearl. We are repeat occupants and love this house, people, area and especially Mr. Fairbanks who always makes us feel welcomed. 5 stars from me and my husband.

This is a lovely and comfortable vacation home. The pool and hot tub made the stay even better! After a day of biking the preserve or kayaking in the mangroves it was great to come back and just relax!

Enjoyed everything about this place, and would definitely return. Great place if you fish.

My husband and I rented for a few days. The only thing we were sorry about was that we didn't rent for longer. The house and location are great. The host went above and beyond in communication. He was super responsive, check in was easy. The house had every comfort needed. The pool and hot tub were extra nice. My grandchildren live nearby and visited us often. They loved seeing the cranes, fishes, etc. Every thing you want is nearby. We can't wait to stay again but this time we will book longer. Amazing and Ed i s great.

I thoroughly enjoyed my weeklong stay at the Black Pearl. The location was great - peaceful and scenic by the water but at the same time conveniently close to restaurants and stores. I don't love lots of stairs, but I did not find any of the stairs at this home to be a problem. Even the spiral staircase to the upstairs bedrooms felt safe and easy to navigate, and bringing luggage up those stairs wasn't as challenging as I was afraid it would be. The beds were comfortable, and the house was equipped with anything you might want - from cookware to a propane grill to ceiling fans. I rented a pontoon boat for the day nearby and was able to easily dock at the house for snack and bathroom breaks. I saw so many amazing birds from the balcony - cranes, herons, pelicans - don't forget your field guide and binoculars!

Our stay at the Black Pearl was absolutely amazing. The home was clean and well stocked. The pool and hot tub were impeccable and fun to relax after a busy day. We rented a patio boat for a day and went out into the gulf which was tons of fun. Ed was more than welcoming and helpful if we had any questions. He even was able and willing to accommodate when our train was delayed for another day. We would definitely recommend this home and will return. A+++ Thanks Ed!

This property was beautiful inside and out. The home had a well maintained pool and spa and the wooden decks and pool deck were clean, furnished with lovely rattan set, table and chairs for 4-6 on two decks and beautiful plants, both potted and planted. With the location directly on the canal with an attached dock, we enjoyed so many days and evenings enjoying the out door view and weather. (our first week was very cold so being outside was not an option) but it was just as warm and inviting inside as it was outside. The house was furnished very well with amazing wall decor throughout. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cool and entertain. Ed, the owner was great. He answered any questions we had and responded very promptly. He was eager to help us with our booking questions. We would definitely stay at this home again and hope that our future plans bring us back to this Hernando Beach location. As a side note, there are many wonderful little restaurants in the area. We were especially fond of the Silver Dolphin on Shoal Line road. It has an amazing garden eating area. Thank you Ed for everything. We and our best friends of 48 years had a great time.

Was what we were looking for,..beautiful and well kept home, with plenty of stairs😊

We rented this vacation home to fly in and relax a little bit before the Christmas and do some light fishing of the dock . House was great as advertised no surprises Pool and hot tub was awesome and most importantly entire pool area is screened in so bugs can't get in and that was our #1 criterio when we were looking for a rental house. No issues with neighborhood at all Fishing ,caught some catfish, searobin ,eel, blue crab and etc. Fished with fishing rods we flew in with and used shrimp as a bait from local bait show (walking distance,in the convenience store) There is some great sea food in the local restaurants we're you can bike in 5mins or walk in 8. 2 kayaks are provided ,didn't use them ,It was 3 of us and one would fo had to stay on shore . Beaches,never made it to the beach becouse it wasn't a beach weater and this trip wasn't about beach , but been in the area before and know that beaches are ok . Thanks for having us Ed!

The property is beautiful. The pool was clean, cool and relaxing. The house was clean and as pictured. The only thing I would say is the pictures do not show the parking accurately. The pictures make the parking area look a little larger than it is. We had two trucks and a 23 foot boat. It was a challenge to get the boat in the driveway due to space and the angle, the driveway is on a curve in the road. But we got it in the driveway.

This was an awesome house for scalloping. Enough room for 3 boats, great little pool to hang out afterwards, comfy beds and just a really great time to be had by all. You’ll love it!

Everything was great. Owner was very easy to get ahold of and the property was gorgeous.

We had a wonderful stay here in December 2020. We spent much of our time outside on the screened in porch and pool/spa area, protected from any bugs or hungry birds. The owner met us as we arrived and ensured that we understood how the whirlpool worked and shared with us great ideas for local dining. He was also very available via phone/text during our stay when we had questions. We liked that the location was quiet, but still close enough to stores and restaurants for anything we needed. We would definitely come back for another trip.

This property was exactly as listed. Owner was very responsive. The house was nicely furnishedand kitchen well stocked. We loved the comfortable seating and table and chairs on the outdoor decks for enjoying meals and the Florida Sun. Easy access to the water for our kayaks to paddle out to the gulf. We visited nearby Tarpon Springs for Greek food, Hudson Beach for sunset with local friends and easy to get to Weeki Watchee for beautiful spring kayaking with lots of flora and fauna.

When we got in the house it was much higher than our expectations. The pool area was so inviting we didn’t know whether to get in the pool, take the boat out or enjoy the beautiful decor inside. Ed answered our questions quickly and was so welcoming and kind We hope to be back in August !! Thank you so much Ed!!!
