Beautiful and clean, very good upkeep. Staff were extremely respectful, friendly and helpful. I was travelling with a toddler; difficult as it is but the staff at Sofitel made everything so easy for me. It was one of the smoothest transactions I have experienced as a travelling mother. The drop off/pick up area was spacious enough for Uber/Taxi/family to pick up and drop me and my toddler off with no hassle.

check-in was great and special treatment for my wife's birthday was a welcome surprise along with early checkin, since we arrived from an overnight flight at 9am.

Great location. Very comfortable room. Quiet meant excellent sleep. Gym was very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very good

My experience at the Sofitel was outstanding. I had not been to Melbourne for a few years and enjoyed every aspect of the hotel.

The hotel was lovely, as always. Most of the staff were courteous and helpful. Our room had some maintenance issues, but they were resolved immediately and a complimentary bottle of champagne delivered to our room...by Anton, the maintenance man....lovely.

The young lady working at the atrium bar on Saturday night, was rude, surly and unapologetic. Our cocktail order was forgotten/lost.... 3 times. When the drinks finally arrived 45 mins later, they were dumped on the table, spilling some of the drink, without a word....no apology, nothing. I complained to the other young man on the bar, who said he would report it. Not sure about that, but I did request the charge to be removed from my bill, which it was.

staff pleasant...let down by some poor facilities.

Had to move from one room to another because could not extend it for an extra night. New room twice the price a rip off....noisy so sleep was difficult due to backing on 2 service lifts which rattled & wooshed. bigger bathroom but not a single hook to hang clothes on. Corner room on 42 floor potentially had great views but chairs faced away from view and an overall clutter of furniture, beds. From the beds it needed a 45 degree neck right turn to view TV and a 45 degree neck left turn from chairs. TV controls unfriendly also the master lighting control which when all lights are turned off turns on ...too bright and makes sleeping more difficult (until you turn it face down). All of this for A$700+ !! the previous room half the price but more comfortable. Room 4201 should not be offered to guests until fixed (or for 1/4 the price). Want water? Then only from tap because Sofitel does not stock plastic bottles because of environment. Water in glass bottles exists and should be offered - especially at the room price being demanded.
