Cozy cottage with great views. Great communication with property owners!

Great except for stairs leading up to front door

This cozy cottage on Lake Decatur was perfect for our family of 6 for Thanksgiving. Everything we needed and a beautiful view. Our host suggested we walk west at dusk which was fantastic with the sunset reflected on the lake. There are outdoor stairs which helps the view and privacy but there are quite a few. And bring your own shower/bath supplies.

Everything about this visit was wonderful, from the first communication to the last. The owner was extremely responsive and his home was lovely. We really loved being able to have dinner outside overlooking the lake. We were close proximity to everything. The neighborhood was quiet and we had all the kitchen items we would need to feed a family of four.

My family really enjoyed our stay! Days on the lake and nights around the fire pit were fabulous. Everyone commented they would stay there again.

I'd recommend this cabin, we stayed with 7 adult men and there was plenty of space. We were here for golf, but having coffee on the dock the next morning was a great vibe. 10/10, super smooth and easy process.

This property was clean and had a great location to where our job was located. This cabin gave our guys an opportunity to cook for themselves and have ample space to stay. The owner is easy to work with and responds quickly.

This house is perfectly located between Decatur and Mt Zion! The sunrises are amazing! The host is so kind and thoughtful!! Feels like home!! Will definitely be returning!!

This was pur 3rd stay at this quaint little beach house! The location is perfect for lake views and access to Decatur's entertainment opportunities for families! Our family loves it here!

We had a great time. Everything we could need was available to us. Any questions we did have were answered very promptly.

This was our 4th year staying at Jason's place. The private dock across the street was wonderful for us to swim and launch our own kayaks which we brought. (Jason has one kayak and a canoe for use as well). Communication, cleanliness and location were all great! We are really grateful for such a wonderful place and host!

Very cute house on the lake. It was in the perfect location close to family and within walking distance of everything going on for the 4th of July. It had everything we needed. Would stay there again next time we visit.

This was a fun weekend getaway for us. Did a lot of relaxing and it has a big table for board games. Not much yard space for yard games but we had plenty to do.

The property was just as described with all the immensities for our anniversary get away. It is at the end of a street so there was hardly any traffic. There was water sports gear in the garage and 3 great outdoor spots to enjoy a good book and a cup of coffee. Jason was prompt and accommodating. The old cabin has been updated nicely without loosing any of its charm and history.

My husband, daughter, and I stayed here for a few nights after moving her out of her dorm after her first year at Millikin University. It was absolutely perfect! Jason was very prompt in all communication and offered suggestions on things to do in the area. We were able to walk down the road and listen to a concert, fish off the pier, and take the boat out on Lake Decatur as the boat launch was not far from the cottage. We are looking forward to come back next year.

A fantastic spot with easy access to the lake. Perfect for a weekend getaway. There are many spots to lounge outside on the property. Our favorite was by the fire pit. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Description of property was spot on. The steps to property is true! Pack your things in smaller luggage to prepare for the climb. But worth it! Beautiful view of the lake. Great description of tv, sound system and lights are accurate. Close to shopping and restaurants. Nicely stocked kitchen if you choose to cook. I will go back again!

I was born and raised in Decatur, and never have I had such an enjoyable weekend home. Relaxed in a quiet space with my family, and even though it was cold, the view of the lake from the big windows is so serene and relaxing. We will definitely choose this place again for future trips.

My teen and adult kids and I stayed here. They said, "It felt like home." The view is GORGEOUS, the neighborhood is lovely and quiet, the cabin is in walking distance of a beautiful park with a fun restaurant...yet it is close to town if you choose to do touristy things. We were blessed to enjoy an incredible sunrise from the fabulous and large, fully enclosed "back porch," as well as TWO bald eagles "fishing!" We were incredibly comfortable as we relaxed. The kitchen has everything it needs. The bedrooms were nice. The family room with fireplace and ample chairs/couches to relax in was wonderful! Jason was very welcoming, and helpful the one time we needed him to help us re-light the fireplace. My suggestions: Fix the door handle to the bathroom, put a lounge chair and table on the back porch, and put shades on the bathroom and other bedroom windows as well...even though the back of the house is protected by a wood fence and woods. Otherwise, I highly recommend this great cabin getaway! Thank you for a wonderful stay, Jason!

The cabin was cosy and nice. Could have used some more blinds for the windows, better door latch/handles, and they really should mention in the description the amount of stairs you have climb to get to the cabin. The view was excellent and the lake was perfect.

Renting this place was great nice peaceful area with a great view of the lake the host were very helpful and responded in a timely manner definitely recommend staying here

Had a great weekend away with my spouse! Jason was very helpful with suggestions of local places to visit. Gave me some tips and pointers for fishing off the dock. Managed to get a couple bites. House had all the utensils and dishes needed for cooking through the weekend. Could not be more pleased with our visit and will be returning come spring!

Spider webs covered entry. Missing railing on deck. Hazardous exposed wired jammed into deck. Did not stay. "Host" agreed to refund, then eventually only partially. Sent photos to Vrbo "support" and promised contact that day. Still no response from Vrbo!
