The house gave us everything we needed. Plenty of space for gathering, comfortable beds, close to town but you still feel like you are very remote. View of the lake is amazing! I would definitely recommend this property!

Nice quiet home on the lake with nice boat dock. It needed a few minor items in the kitchen replaced like spatulas, pitcher, pans, small trash can. Sheets had a slight stain. Microwave was in the laundry room?? But overall was clean & had a lovely view of the lake & mountains. Property owner was very responsive. We enjoyed our stay!

I stayed here for 5 nights with three college buddies for our annual reunion. This was one of our best site choices of the 25 or so that we've selected over the years. The home was very roomy for us and comfortable. I slept on the sofa bed in the TV room and its mattress was great...none of the "bar in the back" issues often seen. My friends all slept comfortably on the other 3 beds. Bathrooms were excellent, with the shower on the main floor being very pleasant and spacious, and the heated floor in that bathroom was a nice surprise. Kitchen was well stocked with all needed pans and utensils for a couple of meals we made. All systems/appliances worked without problem (AC, heat, fridge, stove). TV was convenient for entertainment when needed, no problems using YouTube TV. Home location is so convenient to bike rides at Jackrabbit and to basic needs such as groceries and restaurants in Hiawassee, and we had fun at the nearby pickleball courts one morning. Property is beautiful with a lush carpet of grass leading down to the dock which we spent part of every day sitting on. I loved this place and would like to stay there again someday, perhaps with my family! Absolutely worth a 5-star rating!

My nephew, best friend and I came to relax and do a little fishing on Chatuge Lake. The house was wonderful. A beautiful, comfortable place to stay that's in a perfect location to enjoy the lake and the local restaurants,marinas, etc. The covered dock had electricity to recharge our boat batteries. I can't imagine that there is a better home to stay in on Lake Chatuge. The beds were comfortable, the house was spacious and just beautiful. I hope we get the chance to come back!

We had a wonderful time at this rental! The house was tip top clean, had all the amenities that were listed online and the views- WOW! The big glass windows let you see the lake from the master bedroom (what a way to wake up!). The backyard was so beautiful and that they allowed our fur babies to come as well, was one of the main reasons we booked in the first place. The house is very close to antique stores and restaurants, as well as some local parks and easy hikes. We will be back for sure!

Quaint and comfy! Lake and property is beautiful! Don’t want to leave this view. Two days were good weather for being outside - walking down to lake and sitting with coffee. Quiet even though there are neighbors! Family reported best mattresses they have ever slept on - waking up to no back ache was awesome! Could it have been the lake views from two of the bedrooms??? Yes!!! Did not utilize the outside firepit but fireplaces inside provided perfect ambiance and warmth. Should another family gathering occur, we will be calling hosts again!! Thank you for your hospitality and working around our schedules.

This is a very cozy, quaint older cottage on Lake Chatuge. It has the comfort of home with a view of heaven. With a boat slip and swim dock as well as a bench swing and fire pit, the outside has all anyone could want. The inside of the home is a little quirky, but absolutely unique and well appointed for all your needs. Loved the fireplace and wood stove to keep it nice and warm without ever having to turn my head from the lake. And the heated bathroom floors are quite lovely too. Will go back as often as we can!

We are repeat guests at this beautiful property and feel like we’re at our second home as soon as we pull down the drive! The views are outstanding (especially during leaf season). Love how the lake changes with the weather and times of the day. The local hiking is wonderful with ready access to local trails and the Appalachian Trail. Finally, Katherine and Michaell have been outstanding hosts over the years…

The view is exceptional. Everything in the house was in working order and the communication with the owner was great.

We and our two dogs enjoyed our stay on Lake Chatugue. The area is in a special location in that you can also visit North Carolina and Tennessee for day trips. There are good restaurants, shopping and various small towns to visit. The weather is wonderful and you are surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, which makes the area very scenic. We will definitely make this a destination in the near future.

This place exceeded our expectations. We spent almost the entire time on the dock and back deck. It was about 10 degrees cooler than. It had been in Atlanta and those 10 degrees made all the difference. We spent one whole day on the dock and another day we rented a boat to explore the lake. This will not be our last trip to Hiawassee. Everyone we met and talked to was so welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed it

After finding this property on VRBO while searching the Hiawassee GA area, we patiently waited for an available opening. While the pictures were intriguing enough to book here, the beauty of this property in person is unmatched. Enjoyed fishing off the dock, the convenience of having our boat docked on property, eating dinner on the patio overlooking the lake and watching the sunsets from the dock and fire pit. Spectacular! Owners were very responsive and kind. Can't wait to come back!

This is the most gorgeous property and lake access. I could have spent my entire week outside. The house was perfect and the hosts were fantastic!!! Loved our time!

The view from the house was beautiful, the lake was quiet, very peaceful! If you’re bringing a boat, I would put in at the marina prior to going to the house-driveway is a little steep.

We had the best time at "Our Happy Place". Our hosts were very accommodating and easy to work with. There we 2 couples in our party. We had plenty of room. Enjoyed the outside patio very much. It was well equipped fir our stay. Less than 5 minutes from town with lots of restaurants & shopping. It was to cold to swim but hope to utilize the swim dock and boat dock next year. The views are to die for!

My mom, boyfriend, dog and I stayed for a few days and everything was great! The location is amazing and being right on the water was so fun!

Had a great stay last week and one of the best lake views you will find. The house, location, dock and yard were as described but are so much better when experienced. Owners communication was great and the process was very simple. We will definitely rent again and already looking for an opening on the calendar. Would live here year-round without a second thought!!!!

We enjoy the cabin , yard, firepit, dock, view and overall comfort. Loved this rental and the well kept yard and decorations. Thank you so much for supplying the firewood. We will be back hopefully. Met family here and made some good memories.

This home was very charming, cozy, and comfortable. The bedrooms were large, the downstairs king bed was very comfortable, and the downstairs closet was very large. There was plenty of space not only for clothing, but for all our suitcases and bags. The backyard and the lake view were beautiful - including the views from the den and bedrooms, and from the outside. The yard was a little steeper than expected but we were able to walk down to the lakeside easily. The kitchen and dining room were a comfortable size and well-stocked with everything we needed. We utilized the washer and dryer, which were large-capacity, brand new, and easy to use. The downstairs shower was large with double shower heads. The living room area furniture was also very comfortable and we enjoyed the large-screen tv. It was a very enjoyable visit to this nice, comfortable home.

The location couldn't be beat. Enjoyed the sunsets, fishing off the dock, sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and did not want to leave! The house had everything that we needed for a week. Thanks, Katherine!

We have been looking for the perfect location on Lake Chatuge for 4 years, and we just may have found it! Though many might find us strange, we were paddleboarding and swimming, every day, and enjoyed the sunsets on the swing, as well as an evening bonfire. Great hosts, who communicate very well and were extremely respectful of our time there. Highly recommend, but please don't book our week next year!! LOL Thanks for providing a clean and lovely home!

When the Labor Day weekend rains finally gave way to some sunshine, we were able to enjoy this property’s beautiful outdoor spaces. Having two docks was incredible and we enjoyed evenings around the fire pit as well. What really drew me to this property was having a dock for our boat and we loved having our own dock! However, I hope it receives some repairs. We spent countless hours on the porch taking in those views and clearly understand why this is their Happy Place 😎

Property has no room to turn boat/trailer around easily. Driveway is super narrow and drops away on one side. Several Of boat dock boards are unsafe needs replacement. Mold/mildew in frig water/ice dispenser, inside frig was clean. Musty smell in home, filter clogged with no spare found to change it. Carpet needs shampoo. Ancient coffee maker. Always felt like we were being watched. I expected better for the price. Left after two nights! Says a lot.

Just like the pictures show, the back yard by the lake is very private and beautiful. The short walk to the dock is gently sloping. There are 2 docks to swim from. I slept in the wicker love seat on the porch almost every afternoon. The house is very comfortable and well furnished. We had a very happy week at " My Happy Place."

We had a wonderful time for the second year in a row at this rental and booked a 3rd year. The home is very comfortable with everything you need for a multiple day stay. Katherine is great and has everything prepared so we never had to reach out for any help. We love this home and look forward to next year!
