Exceptional customer service service. Incredible food. Amazing location. This is a high quality hotel experience and they put you as the customer first.

Some communal areas were grubby - corridor carpets and temporary screens to hide kitchen areas etc. Also as with all hotels in Japan, single use plastics everywhere.

The provided supplies for the onsen were limited in relation to other hotels we visited in Japan. Furthermore the breakfast was Japanese only, I would have expected some western food available for breakfast

Amazing views from the rooms, lovely during sunset in the morning. Staff were helpful, even with the language barrier. Rooms were comfortable and the private bath was an experience.

Provided bus pickup from station, but the drop off bus finishes service at 9am which is annoying.

An amazing traditional Japanese hotel (ryokan), exceeding all expectations. Hotel staff went out of their way to greet the guests and make them feel welcome. Rooms are very stylish and clean, and the view of the Matsushima bay is gorgeous. Amenities include an open-air onsen (hot bath) with the view of the bay. Dinner was also very special and tasty. We had a lovely time here, and if I'm ever visiting Japan again, I'll make sure to return to this ryokan for a couple of days.

Our room had a lovely view over the bay. We also booked a private onsen which also had a great view. It is a short walk to all the sites in town.

The drinks at the bar were quite expensive

The breakfast was nice but I have had better Japanese breakfasts. The view was exceptional and the onsen was lovely. The room was also a good size.

The staff on our way out was a little rude. The lady who greeted us was nice but there was an older man at check out who was quite cold. The onsen was also only outside on one side so we could only use it once due to the rotation.
