Hilltop had stunning views and provided a fantastic space for a winter getaway.
The house had everything we could possibly need, was comfortable and warm with a great fire place.
I would recommended this property and would definitely book in again.

Beautiful property & fabulous views. The house had everything that was needed for a very comfortable stay. The host are lovely & very accommodating. The Catlins is an amazing area to visit & would certainly love to stay here again (especially in the warmer months).

I will prefer if the tree fencing Infront can be shorter.

A lovely location away from it all. Very quiet and peaceful - we could hear the sea and the birds the whole time. Bedrooms comfortable, living areas great in summer with doors to a sheltered verandah. Two bathrooms was a real bonus.
The driveway up was a bit rough, but this is a working farm after all, so its to be expected.

Spacious, well-appointed and well-equipped house with views to die for.
Great location for exploring the sights of the central Catlins.
Excellent communication with the owners: they provided us with all necessary information (such as the advice to bring all food with us) well in advance, so our stay went without a glitch.
Driving the gravel road uphill in heavy rain was quite a challenge, particularly as we were in a 2w-drive vehicle 😄

Although Hilltop was enjoyable there were no storage facilities for clothing. We kept our clothes in backpacks for four night.

The house was spacious and the views divine. There are lovely gardens surrounding the property with a view out to the ocean. It was also enjoyable watching the sheep. The house is comfortable, well-equipped and there are several videos and games if you want additional entertainment. We recommend this home for a lovely escape to the Catlins. A beautiful area.

Homely, well equipped kitchen (essential given closest shop an hour away). Quiet, starry nights. Beautiful views over Papatowai inlet. So peaceful and relaxing.
Washing machine broken however were able to use machine in nearby big house.
Didn't like leaving.

The cottage is really appealing and comfortable with a great view. The location is quiet, private, and close to some nice walking tracks.

The Cottage has to be one of best places I have stayed. So much character and charm, all the necessities you need and the best way to spend a night in the Catlins. Take your own food as there is not much nearby, but that doesn't matter. The kitchen has plenty of utensils and cooking is part of the fun. I don't think we could have faulted it and had already recommended it to friends before we'd gone to sleep on the first night. Cannot recommend highly enough.
