We had a wonderful vacation at this cottage. The location is amazing. Short walk to the beach, downtown, and of course the playground. This was a great spot to stay at if you had teams. The game room downstairs, there’s a lot of fun, as well as the bunk room. The cottage is a little worn, but so homey, artsy and interesting. We will definitely stay again. We also had great communication with Marc!

We are a family of 6 with kids ages 3, 9, 14, & 17. The close location to the beach was perfect for us and we felt comfortable letting our older ones go back and forth to the house by themselves for early morning shelling and beach combing. The folding chairs were nice to take down to beach with a cup of coffee at sunset. It was next to the playground which our 3 year old enjoyed often. The outdoor shower was nice and hot for rinsing off from the short (maybe 100 steps house to beach) walk from the beach. The screen porch was nice for eating away from any mosquitos. The games and movies in the house were enjoyable to all. Kitchen was well supplied with everything, though we did bring our own coffee filters and hubby can’t recall if there were any already there. We liked the quiet street and walked everywhere, to restaurants and desserts at least twice a day, leaving the car in the driveway the entire stay. The rec room under the house was fun with a pool table, stereo system and ping pong table. Very clean and comfortable. We’d love to stay again as it’s our favorite so far and we’ve been renting homes and staying at various locations on the island for our Folly Beach vacations for 10 years now.

This was a great place in a great location.

The house was in a great location with just a short one block walk to the beach. It was close enough to the bars and restaurants in Folly Beach but far enough (half mile) to be very quiet. The back porch was an oasis for relaxing, dining, napping, reading, or just hanging out. The place had a lot of personality with great art and a funky vibe. It made it feel like a home rather than a sterile place that could have been anywhere. The kitchen was well equipped though a bit unorganized. It was an easy drive or Uber ride into Charleston for sightseeing or dinner. I would definitely return to this property.

We had a great stay at this house. This house is fun and quirky - a little like staying in an antique shop, but the kitchen is fully stocked with all the up-to-date appliances and extras you could ever want! All the porches were great spots to hang out. The location is perfect. There is a playground nearby for kids, the beach was just a block away, and Center Street restaurants and shopping were a quick 10-15 minute walk. It's in need of some repairs and updates and wasn't the cleanest place we've stayed in, but overall it was great and we'd stay again.

Loved the fully stocked kitchen with every appliance and more dishes…the beach house was very comfortable with great back deck and crows nest…highly recommend Folly Beach!

Such a calm place and so close to the beach. Loved the complete kitchen and gas stove! The back porch was my haven. One brisk game of ping pong below was enough for me but so much fun. We had a few minor, early season glitches, which were handled quickly, professionally, and kindly by the owner. Only question? When will we be back?

The property has great potential. There was a little musty odor when we first arrived, I surmise because it is the off-season and the house has not been opened to air out for a while. The exterior decks and porch need some deep cleaning and maintenance attention. The built in icemaker in the refrigerator makes a knocking noise when ejecting fresh ice cubes, and the in-door water dispenser does not work. However, the house is well equipped and the kitchen has an abundance of cookware and table service.

Loved the decor and amenities of the house… best equipped kitchen in a rental house that I’ve ever stayed in!

It’s set up for a fun warm weather beach trip, and unfortunately we went on the coldest days in 20 yrs. 🤣 Marc was great it getting the fireplace set up for us which really enhanced our stay. The kitchen is a cooks / chefs dream. The location is perfect, easy access to the beach & walking into town. Our dog loved it! It was a terrific Christmas vacation for us, even with the extreme cold.

Beautiful place to spend good family time. Beach and shopping is super close and Charleston is just a quick drive away. Made some great memories here!

Very nice and comfy house has everything you need and more, would definitely recommend to all my friends and family. One minute walk to the beach, friendly people everywhere we went.

A group of 49-50 year old college friends had a mini reunion here. It was a fun, eclectic house. The driveway, back porch and steps had a lot of debris on them, but it was my understanding that no one could come after the recent hurricane to clean up. The master bed is really low to the ground. The location is perfect and you can even hear the ocean from the front porch. It is next to a kid’s playground so it is perfect for families, too.

Marc was a wonderful host! He checked up on us several times (we were there during hurricane Ian) and we never felt unsafe. The house we can first hand say is a great place to hunker down with some good food and good family and friends. We never lost power and if we had the house had a gas range (electric oven) to cook soup on which we did and a gas grill if you wanted that option too! Outside of weathering a category 1 hurricane, the house felt very warm and welcoming! The artwork is very pretty and you can tell the house is for all age groups. The loft had board games and tv, the kids room with bunk beds had gaming systems and more board games and building blocks for little ones. There was even toddler plates and cutlery 🥰 The house is second from the island’s kids playground (absolutely adorable and will entertain wild toddlers up to 12 year olds) and is literally within talking distance from the porch to the house! If you had older ones you could sit on your porch and let them go play right next door! The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cooking spices, dry goods like pancake mix, assorted crackers, etc. The rest of the house has plenty of books, and a few movies in the living room as well. We will definitely be staying here again as both the house and the host were just wonderful! Thank you again Marc!

My family and I were so grateful to stay at The Beach House for our month-long getaway during my sabbatical. The location is incredible: steps from the beach, short walk to all the restaurants and shops on Center St. We loved spending time on the back screened in deck. The rooms worked great for our family giving us all our space to retreat to when needed. Clean and comfortable, this place felt like home only with a beach right by us. Hope to stay again the next time! Highly recommend!

Marc’s VRBO was lovely. A nice spacious kitchen and large table. When the beach was too windy we sat out on the upstairs deck. Plenty of room and beds. Games available for rainy days. The beach was so close. I would definitely recommend staying here. We had a hotel mix up and Marc was able to accommodate us a day early. -Beth D. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice house, easy walk to beach.

House was wells stocked, had everything you would need in the kitchen, so don’t worry about making sure you have everything. Location was great, walk to the beach was easy even for our 4 year old. Playground was great and convenient as well.
