for winter time more options to hang clothes needed. in particular we had a rainy time in Paihia and it was difficult to get clothes dried well w/o using the tumble dryer. a laundry basket for moving the laundry would be a helpful tool for doing the laundry.

Nice self contained and secluded cottage. Close to main area of Paihia with an awesome outlook over the Bay. The Proprieor was very helpful and attended to our needs very well.

Beautiful view, bush, town, sea, islands,treaty grounds from deck and bedrooms and living area; kitchen, able to cook meals on site, and laundry facilities, spacious bedrooms, comfy. Short walk to town.

view was fantastic. bedroom 1 & 2 at front of house had lovely views. Hosts were warm, friendly & helpful.

3rd bedroom was extremely pokey and couldn’t fit a suitcase in. A hot room which needed the portable fan on all night. Air conditioning or overhead fans are needed. Gurgling coming from bathroom all night needs looking at.

The cottage sits in its eyrie above Paihia with a great view of the town, the wharf area, and the Waitangi Treaty grounds and the Bay of Islands coastline. Ruth and John make sure you will have the best time I Paihia from the moment you book the cottage. They live next door if you need anything. It is a warm retreat with everything you could need in a two bedroom home. Great kitchen and comfortable lounge area. The main bedroom has a huge closet and great, comfy king size bed. John came for a visit every evening to check how our day had been and to talk of places to go and people to meet. There are a number of cafes, restaurants and bars in the town if you aren't of a mind or mood to cook. I can recommend Zane Greys bar on the pier (not the restaurant) for drinks and dinner after returning from a cruise in the bay or a coach trip to the Cape. John runs a great website that you should check out for hints and tips.

A washing machine would be a great addition. The parking area for our little car was fine, but it may be a little tight for a big 4WD.
