The home was large enough for our gathering of 12 and we appreciated all the space - indoors and outdoors. The kitchen was well equipped also for a large group.

We had a great trip. The property manager was great to work with. The place is nice but needs some TLC and maintenance. We picked this house because it was large enough for our family the view of Lake Michigan and proximity to the beach. For what we paid I was a little disappointed in a few things. All but the master bathroom are very small. The freezer drawer was broke and the range only 2 burners worked. The property manager was aware and said they had parts on order. The stairs and path to the beach were over grown. The property manager did send someone out to clean it. One of the biggest issues was the pictures show a beautiful unobstructed view of Lake Michigan but the bushes/trees were so over grown we could not really see the lake or beach. This was extremely important to us because my 75 year old parents could not really get to the beach but wanted to see it and watch the family at the beach. The property manager said they could not fix it during our stay. Also there is not an outdoor shower it was just a lawn water hose. Over all the trip was great. The property manager was great to work with. The place at one time I’m sure looked just like the pictures and descriptions. It just needs some TLC and regular maintenance.

This is a great space to host a larger family get together. The property itself was good and very close to the beach with great views from its many balconies. The appliances and plumbing needs to be upkept a little better as well as some of the finishes (i.e. nail sticking out of some of the flooring, outdoor shower is broken, freezer drawer is broken). Overall this was a good experience but there is room for improvement.

The house was very nice for our family. Beautiful views of the lake, and the Chicago skyline. The house was a little further from the beachfront than we thought, but once established on the beach our family enjoyed out time very much. Thank you for sharing your property.

Wonderful location for our family get together. Everyone enjoyed the stay very much. There were mosquitoes to deal with, but they had some measures around to deal with them. Our families’ biggest limit was the four vehicle one. We worked around it with the off site but parking arrangements just didn’t fit in with the scale of the house and how great everything else was.

The property was in good shape. Beautiful home and view. Great energy. We loved the space and the bedrooms.

This house was great for a holiday getaway with friends. There were 8 of us and we all had plenty of space. The hot tub was great for the chilly weather that we were having. The views of Lake Michigan we're AMAZING. Overall it was a great stay. There were a few things that bothered us for how much money you spend per night: 1. The floors were not clean. After walking around barefoot for 5 min our feet were so dirty that we had to wash them. We wore shoes the rest of the time. (The kitchen floor grout should be white and it is black!) 2. The check in time is extremely late for a rental. We rent pretty frequently and this is the latest we've ever had. And the check out time is too early. You loose a lot of time on your stay with this being this way. 3. Shelves in the bathrooms were broken and the heated towel bar in the master bath did not work. 4. The hot tub cover was falling apart and on it's last leg. Due to it's condition it was hard to get on and off efficiently. Like I said, we had a great time and the house was just fine. However, for paying as much money as we did we were expecting a 5 star experience.

To start with the good - the views from the house are incredible. The sunset photos in the listing are completely accurate. The patio setup is absolutely beautiful. It was nice having direct access to the beach, although it's a bit of a hike. The house manager was quick to respond which we really appreciated. The house itself was okay - it's nicely decorated and the photos are somewhat accurate. However, the rooms themselves were smaller than we expected. There's no way we could have slept 25 people comfortably. We had 15 adults and 2 infants and that was pushing it, with the bathroom situation alone. The house also needs a deep clean. The floors are completely dirty and I wasn't comfortable walking barefoot in the house. Things were broken throughout the house - the heated towel bar didn't work, there was a broken shelf in the master bath, and the hot tub cover was broken. The shower pressure was pretty awful. The ceiling in the round living room was leaking water at one point. We were hoping for more of a 5-star experience from the house for the price we paid. Overall, it was a wonderful stay but it had more to do with the company and the views rather than the house itself.

After reviewing the listing, we were looking forward to our listing. Upon arrival, we were quite disappointed. We had expected much much better for the amount we paid. At the time of our search, there were better beach front properties at half the cost. Reasons for this are: - the photos were misleading. All the rooms were smaller than depicted in the photos. - the listing for the kids room said 2 twin bunks with a pic showing that but it’s actually a full with a twin upper bunk. - the place was not cleaned properly. The kids walked barefoot and their feet were black/dirty within minutes. - the knob of the shower next to the jacuzzi popped off and scared the children. Water was rushing out until the manager could come and shut the valve. I reached out to the owner prior leaving this review. She apologized for the poor experience. She said they will update the listing/photos and that they did a thorough cleaning after we left. She then started ignoring subsequent attempts to reconcile. My recommendation for those considering this property is that it is way overpriced for what you get. And keep your expectations low.

The property was absolutely perfect for our quick friends get together. Space and ambience was exactly as advertised. Property management was super accommodating and friendly making sure we enjoyed our stay.

I want to complaint about our recent stay at your facility from August 7th — August 9th. It was our first experience here, and the main reason we paid a lot of money per night was to utilize the beach, as beach view houses always have an easy accessibility to the beaches. The main purpose of spending money for a beach front house is the utilization of the beach otherwise I would have opted for a house half a block or so from the beach at much cheaper rate.We were really really disappointed and frustrated that we are not told about the closure of the beach at the booking of our house. We did the online booking on August 6th and the beaches were closed since July 29th, and all of us felt like we were deceived by hiding this important aspect. It just does not justify the large amount that we paid only for 2 nights, as main purpose was to utilize the beach with our kids and unfortunately both days the cops on the beach moved us away from the beach more towards the eastern side and we were not able to utilize the beach infant of the house which was our main goal and the reason behind spending that much amount. If you would have mentioned it on your booking site we would not have bothered to book the house and hiding this fact to me is a fraud. When you travel in any areas like in Disney or any resort, and their water ride or any resort is closed they will always tell you beforehand before buying a ticket to keep it fair for the customers. By concealing this fact that beaches were closed is a deception and cheat to the customers and it felt like we were robbed by paying that hefty amount per night.I requested beach rentals to consider that at least half of our money should be reimbursed back to us for the non-utilization of the beach because of beach closure which was not reported to us at the time of booking. It was fair with both the parties, but nothing was done regarding it. I will never recommend this place to stay.

Plenty of room for our family! Loved the well equipped kitchen for big meals. Can't beat the location and the views!

We were celebrating my friends wife birthday and we all had a great time at the property. The view was beautiful. The kitchen was fully equipped the beds were comfortable, the rooms were spacious overall it was almost perfect

“At Villa Santorini you can expect lots of room to spread out, easy access to the beach, and a kitchen with all the comforts of home. The house was ready to go when we arrived and if something came up, the house manager was quick to respond with a solution. Our family of 18 ranged in age from 72 to less than 2 and we all found something special there. We enjoyed watching the sun rise on the beautiful balconies. The kids loved playing in the beach and used the raised area in the center of the round room as a stage for their "shows." We spent a couple days in Chicago using a nearby train depot to get there. We also enjoyed visiting the Dunes and the cute little towns nearby: Portage, Michigan City, Chesterton, and St. Joseph, MI. The property overlooks a public beach with a paid parking lot and a concession stand. We didn't feel it was overwhelmingly crowded and it was kinda fun to people watch from the balcony. Still felt very private up on the hill. This property offered many little touches that you might not anticipate: beach towels, beach toys, and beach chairs, outdoor shower, 2 dishwashers, lots of kitchen gadgets, several mini fridges throughout the house. Overall we had a great experience and hope to visit again!”

We had a group of 12 staying at Villa Sanatorini and it was perfect. Everyone had plenty of space, the views were wonderful and the kids loved being able to walk down to the beach whenever they wanted. We stayed in late April so the weather was a bit unpredictable, but it was a great get-a-way. Conveniently located. We visited the Indiana Dunes State Park and next time plan to take the train into Chicago. This is the perfect extended family vacation spot! The only downside to the property is that it is not handicapped accessible and the driveway does not allow for easy unloading. Overall, it is a place that we will definitely look at staying at again with our group!

Hillary and Jim do a great job of maintaining this beautiful house. It was spotlessly clean and every thing you can think of was provided--firewood, paper towels, etc. They were very responsive to any questions/requests. However, there was one large thing we were unhappy about--the location. It is listed as having private access to the beach and there is a path along the side of the house that adjoins the national lakeshore. However, immediately in front of the house is a large parking lot and a large public beach. The beach is full and the beachgoers continue on down the beach for several hundred yards from where the "private" path hits the beach, so you have to walk a long ways to get to a quiet, not crowded, spot (not private, just less crowded). In addition there is a restaurant/bar that has live music some evenings, which is loud enough to be heard clearly from Villa Santorini's deck. The music wasn't bad, but depending on your taste in music you may or may not like it. Since neither the description of Villa Santorini or the photos reveal the parking lot and public beach, we were shocked and felt somewhat deceived. It definitely was not full disclosure. The house was fantastic but the location was not, and based on our 15 years of renting beachfront homes on Lake Michigan, we felt it wasn't worth the price.

We had our family reunion at Villa Santorini during a brutal cold snap and so cannot comment on any of the outdoor-ness but the house itself was lovely! The wood burning stoves + central heat kept the whole house toasty warm in spite of -15 wind chill. The kitchen is extremely well equipped (magically so, actually, for a rental). Hilary was super-helpful and immediately responsive to any questions we had. The house has been very thoughtfully supplied with everything you need - from extra beach towels to board games - for a perfect vacation. The whole house is a top-notch renovation - high end appliances, fixtures, media, etc. Classy all the way. Two things to keep in mind if you are thinking of booking this property: 1. Although the house absolutely can sleep 30 people, it might not be in an ideal configuration. There are two HUGE "view" bedrooms, and then 5 small bedrooms. If the grownups in your group want the view bedrooms to themselves, you'll be giving up a fair bit of supplemental sleeping space. If you are willing to give up a master bedroom to the kids, you can accommodate a lot more sleeping bodies. You could easily add 2 queen airbeds to each of the king bed master suites, but none of the smaller bedrooms can accommodate an airbed. One has 4 twin beds, the others all sleep 2 people in queen beds. Just something to think about. We were able to put two airbeds in the media room. 2. The house has a cool, eco-friendly ozone based washing machine. It runs on cold water only, no detergent. Great for the planet, great for light wash needs. Not great for anything truly dirty. Spaghetti sauce and grease stains did not come out in the wash. If you are traveling with kids you will want to pack heavily enough to not need to do laundry, or you'll want to factor in a laundromat visit so you can blast detergent, bleach and hot water through your baby food disasters. Of course if you come in the summer the kids can wear a bathing suit all week and there won't be any laundry!

Perfect for family reunions and other group events. Has all the "extra nice" amenities most of us do not have at our primary residences.

We celebrated my spouses 50th birthday with family and friends. The patio had great views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. We had the fire going for cold august nights. Kids really like the media room they watched movies on the big screen. Amazing views from both the master bedroom and nautical room. Overall a perfect place to unwind and relax. House come with lots of amenities and the family enjoyed the coffee bar. The host took extra care and welcomed us and gave a tour of the house.

We absolutely loved this place! As I was looking for venues for our small wedding ceremony, I couldn't seem to find a space that had a room that just stuck out to me. When I saw the picture of the round room at the Villa Santorini, I fell in love and knew immediately I wanted to get married in that room! It was perfect. I will treasure this place and the memories we had here and we hope to come back and stay again. I would highly recommend this venue and Jim and Hillary are spectacular hosts who genuinely care for their guests. Thank you thank you thank you!

A few months ago I began my search for a perfect/unique girlfriends' getaway long weekend near Chicago. I reserved Villa Santorini in Miller Beach with high hopes of being amazed at the architecture, location and views. My hopes came to fruition! This home is extraordinary in so many ways. The architecture is indeed superb. The location is ideal, whether you are interested in a simple stroll down the steps to the beach or hike on one of many gorgeous dune trails or a short drive to town. The view is phenomenal, on the top of a dune, offering perhaps the most breathtaking beach backdrops one can imagine. My friends (x14) and I enjoyed countless, priceless moments soaking up the remarkable ambience and amenities offered. We especially loved the coffee station, hot tub, and wood stove. Furthermore, Hilary was a fabulous host. She initially met us at checkin, gave a tour, and spent time & care in getting to know our interests during our stay in Miller Beach. In so doing she was able to highlight where to dine and shop and which were the best hiking trails. A remarkable individual & a remarkable home. I'll be back!

This house really does have it all! There was more than enough room for 26 people, 18 adults and 8 kids. 2 master bedrooms for the elders in the group, and bunk room for the kids worked out incredibly well. The beds and linen are very good quality and allow you to drift off to sleep easily and comfortably. The house is incredibly high tech. There are at least a dozen or so smart TVs and a HUGE TV in the media room for the kids/gamers to go crazy with. The TV in the massive round room that was very nice to watch as you relaxed from a day hiking in the dunes and on the beach. Both of these rooms also had wood burning stoves with plenty of firewood which provided awesome ambiance and comfort for us all. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices/baking type stuff making it easy to just run to Costco and stock up on essentials. There were plenty of dishes and bowls and utensils so that you could take care of everyone without having to do dishes right afterward with the 2 dishwashers. We also loved the hot tub after a long hike in the dunes. The views of the beach and national park from all three floors were spectacular, especially seeing the waves crashing on the ice-shelf. Hilary was very attentive to our questions and needs, and it was most appreciated. We look forward to a return trip in the summer to really enjoy all the outside terraces and decks!

We arrived a bit early for our stay and were able to see the care that went into preparing this property for our stay. The location is easy to find and has beautiful views. We have a large family and searched for a property that would accommodate 27 and Villa Santorini is exceptional for this, plenty of room for the kids and not noisy when it was time for the tots to go to sleep. Hilary and Jim are exceptional hosts, eager to make the stay memorable. We did enjoy the wood burning stoves, the media room and the large well equipped kitchen was a very pleasant place for preparing our meals. Easy access to the lake Michigan shore is another plus, even in the cold weather we enjoyed hiking the dunes. Parking is a bit limited and overflow parking is about 2 miles away and safe which worked out well. My family appreciates the memories made and we're looking forward to a return to Villa Santorini. Our group of 15 enjoyed a New Year's weekend trip to Villa Santorini and had the most amazing time. The kitchen was just perfect for a group this size with several cooks among us. Plentiful dishware, utensils, cookware, bakeware, and so on. We loved having plenty of space for wine since we brought quite a bit, and the immense amount of counter space was a real treat. The other common spaces (living room and media room) were perfect for games and movies (a few of us even did a little circuit training workout one morning and had plenty of space). The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. I was spoiled in the master suite with amazing built-in water sanctuary bathroom, but the other guests shared only positive feedback on each other room and bathroom (including the fold-out couch). Our only regret was that we weren't able to use more of the outdoor spaces since it was the middle of winter, but we will remedy that soon enough. I cannot wait to return to this, our new standard for group getaways! Huge thank-you to the property manager Hillary for being super responsive and helpful.
