My husband and I met up with our grown sons for a fun family vacation on Kauai. The house was excellent, the location was private, beautiful and perfectly situated. We travelled easily all over the island each day and had a perfect spot to come back to and relax together. We enjoyed board games around the kitchen table each night and frequently enjoyed star gazing from the yard. The rooms are comfortable, the house is spacious and full of light and there's a wonderful breeze blowing and cooling everything. We never used the AC in June--we are from AK and relished the warmth. The fruit trees on the property were such a treat and we loved having fresh mangoes several times over our visit. We made wonderful memories and cannot wait to come back. We would joyfully stay here again and again.

This was our second stay at this lovely house designed to take full advantage of its ocean views. Birds and whales are often visible (in the proper season) from the lanai, and an albatross preserve for nesting albatrosses is on the 10 minute walk to the beach. The quiet is magical.Beds are comfortable, hot water is plentiful, the kitchen is reasonably well equipped and the management team is responsive. The needs some upgrading, in particular the second bathroom.

We have stayed on Kawai many times, but this is No doubt the best location on the island. The view from the living room and the backyard is outstanding. The short walk to the beach rewards you with a private beach experience. There are some areas that could be upgraded, but that does nothing to take away from the experience. This is our second visit to the house, and we will be back!

This spacious home with great views of the ocean is situated among many fruit trees. Plenty of room to spread out. Very convenient location to everything on the north side of the island and easy to access the south side.

Older vibe, could probably use a little tlc in the near future, but overall it nothing really affected our stay. We actually enjoyed it very much and would definitely book again. The home itself is secluded, quiet, very peaceful and seems to be well cared for and smelled clean when we arrived. Comfortable bed, decent hot tub, fully stocked kitchen other than we couldn't find a pizza pan and a few other miscellaneous items (we like to cook), and there were a few things that would have been nice. Place is nice but definitely has a lot more potential given the area and the location, and the view. The best part is the views, stunning ocean view. Loved the fruit trees, and the chickens/roosters... lol they were fun! Mosquitos were heavy, I would consider investing in pest control, etc, they were everywhere but oddly they weren't anywhere else that we went which was weird. Again, some things were a little outdated and probably due for updates, etc, however it was much better than staying in a hotel/motel for the same price if not more. Overall we were pleased and we would be happy to recommend it to others. With that said though, I do feel that the price we paid for the duration of our stay was a bit steep for the value of the home, especially after comparing with others on the island and other homes on the other Hawaiian Islands. The home is cozy and private which we loved, it just needs some minor updates and tnen it would be perfect. These are just some simple suggestions, it's not to degrade the owners/host. The host was prompt and the owner too seemed nice and laid back. This property also has cottage on the property for rent but only through word of mouth, it is not advertised. Worth checking out if you have less guests, the was big for just the two of us. We didn't know about the cottage as an option, would have been nice to know since it would have been cheaper for us. Lastly, the secluded/private access to the beach was stunning, went twice and we had the whole beach to ourselves, no one in sight... probably because the steep steps down to it are not exactly user friendly at all. Not sure how many steps to be exact but had to be over a 100 so be prepared for an adventure, it's not easy. I'm still recovering a week and half later lol! If you can get down there, it's worth it... good luck trying to get back up!!! Aloha! -G&A

This is the second time that we have stayed in this wonderful vacation home. Once again we appreciated the peace and exquisite beauty of the surroundings. The house is well appointed, very comfortable and has magnificent views of the ocean. Highly recommended!

After delaying our trip to Kauai for 2 years due to the pandemic, we finally made it. Kauai is paradise - and this rental is everything you would want and expect. It was clean, well-organized and best of all private! Very quiet area, with a stunning view to the ocean. The house was very comfortably laid out and well appointed and it was a pleasure to stay in. I highly recommend a stay at Hideaway Bay!

Exactly as described, wonderful view, clean house and quiet neighborhood. Fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Great workout on the steps to the beach. Highly recommend this property and if we are lucky enough to plan another Kauai vacation, will look for this house in the future.

This was a nature lovers' dream! Spectacular ocean views from the hot tub at sunrise...bird-watching from the lanai...fruit trees and flowers blooming across the property...star-gazing with zero light pollution...and a private beach like no other in Kauai! We loved our stay, and can't wait to come back to Hideaway Bay!

My husband and I stayed at hideaway for a week in January and would definitely rent this home again. It was just what we were looking for. The home was clean and very comfortable with views of the ocean from the kitchen, living room, bedroom and hot tub. The property was very nice with many fruit trees, and we were able to make fresh juice each day. The walk down to the quiet secluded beach in the subdivision was well worth it. Thank you to all who made our stay perfect!

So if you’ve never been to Kauai and you have in your mind what the perfect setting would be- you’ve found it. Picking fresh fruit from your front yard for juice, admiring the wild and friendly chickens, and of course the SPECTACULAR view. Follow the directions to the secluded beach and you’ve got all you need. We played croquet on the lawn, barbecued fresh seafood while looking at the amazing ocean view, but mostly just relaxed. The amenities are on point, including the on-site washer and dryer. I honestly have no criticisms whatsoever. My only hesitation in leaving this review is the fear that the next time we book this place (and there WILL BE a next time, others will have found the secret we uncovered. Mahalo!

This was our second stay and bc being so impressed the first time I choose to return a 2nd time w my family to celebrate my 60th Bday. We love the location in the NorthShore area and we love the privacy of the property and the gorgeous views!

This rental was everything described and more. Beautiful quiet property, spectacular house with ocean views and whales spouting out in the bay, hot tube under glorious stars. Loved the bird song and roosters, morning and evening. Kitchen very well equipped, bathrooms great and beds very comfortable. All extremely clean. The beach is lovely and very secluded, the only consideration is that it is a steep set of stairs which would be tough for those with balance or knee problems. Lots of nearby beaches, botanical gardens to visit on the north island, and good restaurants in Hanalei. We loved every moment of our stay and will be back next year!

Amazing location, will definitely stay there again!

This place was by far the best place we have stayed at. Beach awesome, house awesome, hot tub nice, loved this place.We did not bring a pack n play or many plastic utensil that are friendly for small humans.

We fell in love with this property the minute we pulled in. Secluded in the hilltops on an orchard, was the perfect getaway. Plenty of room for our small children to safely explore and play outside. The house was well stocked of beach towels, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. The kids picked tangerines for fresh squeezed juice every morning. Easy and clear communication with the property owner/manager. Breathtaking views of the ocean!! The hot tub is just an added plus. Very clean and comfortable for our family’s stay. Staying at this house was the icing on the cake for our first trip to Kauai. We hope to be back again next year! Thank you Thomas for being such a gracious host!

This beautiful home with exceptional amenities was just what our family needed to relax, rejuvenate and experience the best of Kauai. Everything was perfect at this home from the immaculate propound house to the incredible private beach. Very special property. We will return! Mahalo for everything!

I don't even know where to start. This was our 2nd visit to Kauai from Memphis, TN and boy was it a good one. The island was just as awesome the 2nd time around. The views from the house (and every where else), the beaches and nature itself were AMAZING! The home provided the perfect setting for my husband and I to step outside of our normal lives and enjoy each other and time alone. The disconnect from reality was much needed and wonderfully supported by this home!

A great place to enjoy the beauty and serenity of Kauai. Mornings on the lenai eating fresh fruit, and evenings taking in the changing cloudscape and gentle breezes. It's a hike to the beach, but the effort was always worth it as we were often the only people there. We were looking for a place where we wouldn't feel rushed, and this fit the bill.

We finally got the chance to spend two full weeks in Kauai and couldn't have been happier with this home. It's spacious, fully stocked (including games, guide books & lawn games) & very comfortable. You can't beat the view and because of the layout, you can enjoy it from every room, including the master bathroom. Happy hour and hot tub at sunset was such a treat. The house is on a sizable property so you are surrounded by lawn and trees...some of which bear fruit, and we loved watching the roosters during the day and frogs at night. Although, this was the first time we've stayed in Kauai and were not woken by the roosters - huge plus. The location can't be beat. You benefit from the peace and quiet at the house, a nice walk down to the beach , honor fruit stands on the street leading up and everything from Kapaa to Hanalei is with in 15-25 minutes. The town of Kilauea has so much to offer as well - SushiGirl, Palate, The Bistro, The Fish Market, Kauai Juice Company, Java Kai and the best Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings (don't miss it). Hideaway Bay is on the top of our list for when we return!

For us, it was perfect. The views were incredible, a beach was within walking distance, the property was private, the place was very clean and it was very comfortable to stay & live in.

The moment you enter this beautiful home you know you made a good decision. Location gives you peace and privacy to unwind and enjoy the views. A short climb down to the beach will give you a feeling of what a deserted Island would feel like. Would stay again!

The Hideaway is a terrific property. Having your own little oasis in the midst of the natural beauty of Kauai is outstanding. The house itself has all that you would need. The setting on a cliff, looking at the ocean, is hard to beat. I can't imagine staying anywhere else next time we visit.

This was a beautiful experience, start to finish. The communication was excellent. The kitchen is well appointed. And the solitude was amazing. The walk to the ocean is not bad at all- on the way down anyway! We can't wait to come back again.

Regardless of some rainy weather, our stay was fantastic. Thomas responded quickly to any concerns as we found some of the printed information outdated. The property has matured more than the photos show. The house could use some updates in the bathrooms and outdoor furniture. But the fruit trees in front are now mature and producing fruit. Overall, the property was lovely and the location was perfect for exploring the beautiful, lush north shore.
