Huge big bedroom in an old, unique building. Very safe and very central. Nice and efficient staff and very reasonably priced.

There was a very strange man staying there at the same time who seemed to have lost his mind, made us feel uncomfortable The check in process was so useless. It’s so inconvenient and made the check in process longer than needed. They just need to have an actual in house person doing this, not over the phone/computer.

We booked rooms with private bathrooms and really shouldn’t have. The bathrooms were very dirty and the shower plug overflowed immediately. The smell from the shower was so bad we kept the bathroom door closed and used the shared bathrooms for the rest of our stay.

There's no staff on site. It was the most bizarre experience. I had to call, then 10 minutes later someone called me back, digitally opened the door, and asked me to answer a call from the computer at the receptions. Via video call, someone instructed me to enter the payment amount, swipe my own credit card through a machine, then deposit the slip to a safety box, then pick up a key. When I had questions like where to get water, food, etc, I had no one to ask. They took the future self serve concept too far!

Decent little shared kitchenette, the room was super simple but decent.

We arrived at 10pm and let the hosts know that was the case. There was no one at the front desk and a weird online system. We were left waiting for 45 minutes to check in after being exhausted. They've tried to set up a digital system but it doesn't work and is very inconvenient. They have a digitized response to whatsapp so you can't get a response from a human. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest.

Had to wait 45 minutes for the check in, there’s a ridiculous reception system that is supposed to work remotely via Skype but there was no one attending. The place was generally dirty, bed sheets, towels, everything was stained.

I felt a little tricked by Booking because the listing shows as if this is the original Casa Baquedano but it has been bought out and so none of the photos nor the listing are accurate. I would not have agreed to stay in a place with no personnel and the check-in was a mess. I didn’t feel safe in the property traveling alone.

The property was in a convenient location and the daily cleaners helped to make tired accomodation feel less grimey.

The lack of reception and remote check in services meant you missed out on the support and local insights you look for as a traveller. The person running the check in did a good job, and the WhatsApp was responsive, but the system overall was challenging. The quality of the rooms was far worse than indicated in the images and a ‘private room with bathroom’ booking can vary in quality a lot despite consistent pricing. The room we were allocated was disappointing and not good value for money. It was tiny, had remnants of broken hanging systems sticking out from the wall, didn’t have simple amenities like a bed side light, and the quality of the pillows was like 7 cotton balls in a sack.

No live person on site. Off-site registration (done through a tv screen) - terrible customer service no explanation was given the guy just sits there and wait for you to figure out how to charge your credit card onto TWO machines in order to complete ONE transaction. The WORST part was he did not tell me I can avoid paying IVA/VAT and he charge me 19% on top of our price!!!!!!! Nobody to help with the bags. You cannot leave your luggage at the reception and have to take it to another hostel.

beautiful place in a great location near a train station. great kitchen, communal areas, the room was comfy and spacious and the staff were very friendly
