Die Lage des Rex ist wunderbar mitten im Zentrum nahe der Oper. Von der Dachterrasse aus hat man einen sehr schönen Blick und die Atmosphäre ist sehr, sehr angenehm. Der schöne Pool lädt zur Entspannung ein und der Fitnessbereich ist auch absolut empfehlenswert - das gilt für das gute Frühstück natürlich auch.

Bei meinem Aufenthalt hat alles gepasst: ich hatte einen wirklich sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Das einzige, was ich als nicht ganz optimal empfunden hatte, war das der Frühstücksbereich -trotz seiner beeindruckenden Größe - recht voll war, aber man kann problemlos auf die tolle Terrasse ausweichen.

Location is pretty good especially for tourist sights. For local food you have to walk a few streets out though. Nice pool and towels. Buffet breakfast was great- really good Vietnamese food. Rooms are large.

The hotel is getting a little aged- which isn’t an issue but you are still paying top dollar as if it’s a 5 star. The layout of the hotel is a little spread out, split levels, lots of hallways and stairs. Hotel restaurants and bar very expensive and don’t include service tax and VAT (which a lot of places in that area of town don’t).

Ideal location to walk to any places from Cho Ben Thanh to Nha Hat and Buu Dien. The staff is caring. Breakfast is good and drinks / dinner is on their great rooftop. Plus the place is filled with history!

It needs a global refreshment - even old style filled with history needs a bit of freshness.

From the beginning it was not a great experience. We were expecting a lot better service from a 5 star hotel. There were no porters at the foyer to assist with our luggage and escort us to the check in counter. The initial room had filthy marks on the upholstery, both lounge and chairs at the entrance of our suite. The balcony door didn't close properly so noise from the hectic HCM traffic was a constant racket. After alerting the night manager they offered a new suite.... Right beside the old one, this one had a weird smell, noisy air-conditioning and even though the balcony door did close the sound proofing didn't dispel the noise of the traffic. So a sleepless night it was. This hotel may tick all boxes to categorise it as a 5 star property, however the staff (not all, but most) aren't really interested in providing proper guest services. The hotel staff made us feel a real us and them vibe, we booked through booking.com. and that seemed to set the tone. The rex did not make us feel welcome at all. If you are attempting to be an international hotel of some standing, language courses for the staff might be an idea. Not just in English but other languages as well. Communication is very poor at this hotel! Also the age and condition of the facilities, furniture and general appearance of the property needs to be looked at and improved.

The central location, rooms with balcony have good view and are airy, great management and helpful staff! We stayed in the hotel for over a month and had great experience. The manager was very nice and professional. We had family member got sick during the stay and the hotel provided customised meals which were very helpful. We truly appreciate your great services!

There was an incident when my family first received the room and it smelled damp but the manager took on the feedback straight away and organised another room for us. Just something to note for renovation opportunity.

Breakfast was nice but not much intercontinental, mainly asian.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. easy access to everything. Staff was good in general. We stayed in the newer wing of the hotel so the rooms were nice. The room/suite was very spacious (compared to other hotels in Saigon)

The interior of the hotel is very old (not charmingly old.. just old and dated). If you have a room that faces inward, it’s a very prison like view). Some major renovations needed. There were wedding receptions or parties at the hotel on some days we stayed there and the karaoke from the party could be heard loudly in the hotel lobby.
