There was a conference and the whole night loud music. The noise continued during breakfast/lunch/coffee breaks of the conference attendants since they mingled directly next to my room. If there was any silence from people my room was so poorly located that the music from the reception was very disturbing. I had to keep the curtains closed all time because of poor room location. In addition there was currently a person standing in my room since her card seemed to work on my door? The AC in the room was completely out of control and way to warm!

De kamers waren netjes en proper. We zaten in het hartje van Gent, ideaal voor de Gentse feesten. Het ontbijt was gevarieerd en lekker.

Het ontbijt met uitzicht op het water/het dakterras: ik kon het water niet zien. Het onthaal aan de receptie was alles behalve hartelijk: niet bij het inchecken en ook niet bij het uitchecken. Ik kreeg maar een droog antwoord op wat ik zei.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I appreciate that they offer affordable upgrades to make the trip special. Location is awesome - right close to everything! Parking available in the Friday Market a few minutes away - you can see spots available online. The breakfast was awesome. All very worth it - will definitely be returning!

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in dit hotel. Prima ligging in het centrum. Voortreffelijk ontbijt dat steeds attent wordt bijgevuld, met een mooi uitzicht op Gent. Een goede keuze om de ontbijtzaal onder het dak te plaatsen.

Door ligging in het centrum aan een pleintje was er veel nachtlawaai als de terrassen open zijn bij de kamers aan de voor- en zijgevel. Je moet echt tot 6.00 u het raam dichthouden. Onze kamer lag tegenover de ontbijtzaal, maar het echte lawaai kwam door de helaas openstaande deur van de spoelkeuken. De douche veroorzaakte stank als je de wastafel gebruikte. Een beluchter op de leiding zou een verbetering zijn.

ground floor rooms were small and dark. no bar staff in the evening and reception staff covering who had no idea what they were doing (they admitted that themselves) . ran out of gin even though there was nobody using the bar.

The staff does not communicate well between them, an envelope from my agency was sent there with all my trip docs and it took them over 30 minutes to locate it... The AC was not working in my room and at first the person at front desk hesitated to change us to another room but he did... We were on the floor where they served breakfast and they use the hallway to get to the rooms as a transit area to the kitchen... I left a jacket and they had plenty of time to send it to my hotel in Amsterdam and they didn't do it. I asked them to send it to the US and already agreed on the shipping rate and I have not heard back from them after 15 days. Not a good experience!!

The staff were excellent and the view was amazing. Also, the location, too, was excellent. The historic nature of the building was awesome as well.

Our room was underneath the breakfast patio and the scraping of the chairs was extremely loud in the mornings. The “hot” breakfast, while very tasty, was seldom hotter than lukewarm at best.

Good accessibility and nice breakfast. They even had a storage room which we used after we checked out before we leave the city.

Location was wonderful. Bed and pillows were perfect.

The location just behind Vrijdagmarkt is perfect for exploring the city, but most of all we loved the beautiful exposed old brickwork and ceilings, the tall windows and the size of the room, which was in one of the nice old bits of the hotel. Appreciate we were given this room when often, booking online, this is not the case.

Very convenient location, close to the centre. We left the car in the underground parking and it costed a lot, so search for a free parking of the cheaper one when you go there. All the rest at the hotel was amazing.

The location is convenient to explore the city.

We were assigned the room that we didn’t book at the beginning, and the toilet was immediately broken. We informed the reception of the issue and the reception gave us the so-called upgrade to the room we actually booked (based on the pictures in Booking.com). It was ridiculous to have to go through the trouble to eventually get the room we actually booked!

We really appreciated the hotel with our room upgrade, we were given a spacious room with historic character. There were plenty of beds for all three of us.

When we arrived the personnel at the reception was not welcoming or friendly. I was really surprised by this reception to the hotel by staff. The bathroom in the room smelled of sewer, which was really awful. We read about this issue in a guest review from 3 months ago and the issue remains. The room was very dark with a few lights.

The shower water wasn't hot enough. When we arrived at the room, the heating was off so it was very cold in it.
