Nice stuff, clean room and the bathroom

The room had big windows to the hotel lobby, luckily there was thick curtains, but still I could hear the noises very loudly into my room. I only stayed one night so nothing much to say, but little bit far from the city center.

looked closed.. my taxi driver didn't want to drop me off there. young lady answered the bell with toddler in arms. "reception" was an untidy office room Screaming children, paper thin walls meant you could hear everything - literally everything - from the tightly packed rooms. TV, children's bathtime. toilets. Windows broken and didn't close. Pool cleaning equipment left in the pool overnight, no welcoming feeling, no restaurant on site or nearby. Smoking outside my room. No aircon. Owners not wanting to discuss issues. I think this is an extension of the family home rather than an hotel as described. Youngsters serving breakfast - 12 Yr olds

People are not kind, and that's very weird in Costa Rica because almost everybody are very kind, by the way the only not kind people I meet in Costa Rica is the Portal Colonial staff.

Amazing breakfast! It was a fresh home-cooked meal by the owner herself.

The bathroom wasn’t very clean. Each time I tried to take a shower 2 cockroaches crawled out of the drain and took over the bathroom. There were also lots of tiny bugs crawling around.

The manager, Lucrezia was incredibly accommodating, helpful and friendly. She made us feel so at home. It was a pleasure staying there.

Prime, beautiful location in Escazu! Breakfast was lovely. Small Hostel type room. Private, and cozy. Cute pool.
