it’s a beautiful small hotel, family owned with vines all around. Just stunning landscape belonging to a wine maker. Very helpful staff, friendly owner who explained about the different types of wine, great cook on site who cooked us a delicious dinner especially for us. Just a perfect stay!

Amazing!

The owners are passionate about their country and their terroir. They are especially accommodating and attentive to your expectations. We were able to enjoy a delicious home-made supper with garden products on a Fado background. The wine tasting was both oenological and poetic. I highly recommend this place if you want to recharge your batteries, drink well, eat well and sleep well.

Bedside tables would be useful to have in the room.

In our room there was no wall or curtain between the toilet and shower and the bed, which wasn’t totally comfortable for us….

Room was spartan. No safe, no desk, no dresser. Not a relaxing room.

We loved our stay here. Staff get 10 out of 10 for friendliness and attentiveness. The pool was great, and not crowded as the hotel is small. The breakfast was outstanding. Good location too - we had a car, which we would recommend for the area. Plenty of parking at the hotel. Room was comfortable, with good aircon and very nice bathroom.

Not much to say! We did feel our room was a little sparse in terms of furnishings. Would have been great to have bedside tables on both sides, and hooks to hang wet towels. Also, must be said that we could hear a bit of noise from the kitchen/dining space through the wall.

The hotel is BEAUTIFUL. The staff is very professional and kind and friendly. The food is a MUST BOOK. Both dinners were exceptional. Great views, good wine, nice pool and very professional and communicative staff. I liked the whatsapp communication leading up to and during our stay. Our waiter, Miguel, also deserves special mentioning.

We liked everything. To note, there is no fridge in the room but the kitchen and communal area is close and well-equipped.

As you can see I have rated this accommodation with excellent rates I highly recommend this venue is excellent the accommodation is brilliant the staff are outstanding the owners should be so proud of there selfs and there staff they went out of there way to help 😊

There was nothing not too not like

The staff went above and beyond to make you feel special, but also gave you complete privacy. The food and snacks are outstanding, wine delicious and details of the hotel perfect. Everything is fresh and clean, the love for the place is felt immediately. It was great to go as a couple, but I'd also enjoy going with the whole family. It's a place to relax, a real gem. We can't wait to go back!

The AC worked but wasn't able to keep up with the extremely high temperatures. If you're used to having ice cold room temperatures you might find it uncomfortable, but we enjoyed the fresh douro air so made the most of it. The pool is perfect to fight the heat.

stunningly beautiful vineyard property with lovely hosts, comfortable and well appointed room, the cook Marlene is incredibly talented and kind with my children. the food was exceptional. when we had a problem with the AC they were attentive and fixed it the next day. they were wonderful with my kids and we did a lovely wine and port tasting.

they do not serve dinner on Monday. the dinner is amazing so I would make sure to try it.

The stay at Casal dos Capelinhos was nothing less than exceptional, it didn't only match our (very high) expectations, but also exceeded them. The staff was exceptional! They were eager to help us make the best of our stay, at the Casa as well as the Douro valley, and they were g=reat at it. The quinta is beautiful, the pool and views are breathtaking, as was breakfast, dinner, and, of course, the house wines. I highly recommend this place and hope to be back soon :)

Our time at Casal dos Capelinhos was magical from start to finish. The attention to detail was absolutely incredible in every way. The food was beyond any of our expectations and it was clear that great time, effort and love was put into every meal prepared there. We actually spent most of our time in the grounds themselves, enjoying the magnificent pool and spectacular views of vineyards in the area. Our wine tasting session was also fantastic. If we could have given a rating higher than 10 we would have.

Everything was perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool was beautiful and quiet, the staff very welcoming and the breakfast also great. It wasn't huge with a wide variety of things, but there was still plenty to choose from, it was fresh and tasted great! Regret only staying one night. Will be back.

As can be seen on the vineyards instagram, they also have a restaurant. However, when I asked to reserve a table, I found they're only open Thursday-Saturday. This is of course fine, but I hadn't been able to find that information anywhere, which is a shame. Due to other circumstances the restaurant was also open the Tuesday, we were visiting, and it was a wonderful experience to dine with them.

The atmosphere and the location in the middle of the vineyards is great. The Hotel is family owned and everyone is very friendly and attentive. This is a place where you feel like home. A lot of the food comes from their own garden and is home made. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and both was fantastic due to the quality, presentation and selection of the food.

Missing hot water in the morning

Heaven on Earth! It was one of the best experience in our life! Everything that Pedro, Maria Jose and their team do is just perfect: they fully put their soul and love into it, and pay attention to all little details in order to provide the best experience. The green well managed territory with lots of flowers (rose bushes are just unreal), giant fruits and lounge areas; swimming pool with infinity edge which helps even more to merge with nature; top level choices for accommodations’ setup; cutie balconies; peace and quite and… the view… this view we will try to keep it in our memories forever! Food and wine deserves a special attention, inc. artistic serving, charming presentation, wonderful taste and endless quantity… Based on other visitors reviews we expected good breakfasts and dinner, but we definitely weren’t prepared for such a high level cuisine! Let this beautiful place grow and prosper! And we will plan to celebrate here our proposal anniversaries already with our children ;)

The people are super helpful and nice. Monica was explaining everything very well. The breakfast was great, with many options to choose from.

Unfortunately we could not have dinner at the days we were there, but they made a reservation at a very good restaurant in the village. We missed their nice wines during dinner, but we had a very nice talk the next morning about the wines!

Casal dos Capelinhos is a unique experience since the time you arrive and are welcomed by Pedro and his wife. This small luxury hotel offers you very comfortable rooms, a very traditional cuisine with exceptional quality and great wines from their vineyards. The breakfast is also amazing with a huge variety of fruit, bread, cakes, cheeses, marmalades, fresh juices, coffee...and on top of this eggs cooked to order. The environment at Douro Region is fantastic, the team is always taking good care of you, the infinity pool is top, so the best way to describe this experience is "one of the best"! I am sure I will return. If you have the opportunity, stay at Casal dos Capelinhos, and have dinner to experience the great traditional Douro cuisine at top level.
