The location suited us as we were catering at Heatree - which means we left the room at 06:45 and returned at 22:00 so didn't eat breakfast or use the pub. Room 5 has no view. The room is comfortable and suited our needs.
Would have liked a view but room 5 is easy to access when returning late at night.

Everything was very nice. Great location, nice food, good beer and wine. Really nice room with lovely view. Everything was as we expected.
The carpet in our room (1) had a hole that a rug would have hidden.
The water pressure in the shower was terrible. The shower head needed to be below waist height before we got steady flow.

Very helpful, friendly and attentive staff. Went out of their way to help us enjoy the stay. Good food that was exceptional value, matched by well chosen great value wine.
Great location to explore numerous walks on the eastern slopes and rivers of Dartmoor. Will definitely return soon.

A real traditional country inn, with everything you would expect from one. Very friendly, very welcoming. Calm and peaceful. Inside the public rooms there are comfortable sofas and chairs with a good range of real ale, kept well. Basic pub food, but with good daily specials which actually do change. Outside, beautiful views on all sides. The owners and staff are very hospitable, and always ready to provide anything to make your stay a happy one.
This is in the middle of Dartmoor, so has rather narrow roads. Of course it does! Well worth the effort!

The room was huge, clean, and comfortable .
The breakfast was beautiful all fresh and we had an evening meal which was also beautiful.
The staff were excellent so friendly.
One thing ,but not a dislike is that there's not much room to park if you turn up late until the regulars and others have gone but plenty on the road on the outside, which is safe

Really helpfull and friendly staff, lovely Pub and good food, nice place to start a trip to the Dartmoor - ask for directions, though, the satnav might lead you through some VERY narrow streets.

The kestor was ideally located for our trip,and it was absolutely brilliant. The food ,the staff, the choice of wines and cider all exceptional. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable!
Nothing really except the parking but it was built before the age of the car, so you have to realise that it is a very popular venue and parking is going to be a premium. It was not a problem for us.

Perfect, location beautifully peaceful service friendly and attentive, food deliciously prepared and served. Drinks really good price compared to other places in Devon. Our room was a good size with Superking really comfortable bed. Views from window magnificent! accommodation. Really enjoyed our overnight stay. Thank you

Lovely old style pub. Room was comfortable, warm and clean enough. Good breakfast. Great location - quiet and right in the heart of E Dartmoor. A good value option if looking for a comfortable place to stay on the moors.
Bathroom a little mouldy (had to scrape mould off shower head to make it work properly). 5:30 is a bit too late for earliest possible check in.

Perfect location for visiting Hound Tor and Grimspound. Great room, very good food, super-friendly hosts.
Internet was not working well, but if you are on vacation, it may even be a blessing. If you really really need wi-fi, though, it may be a problem.
