The area is quiet, very relaxing and private. Unfortunately we stayed for a short time and the weather was not that good. Very good breakfast. Comfy beds and pillows. The room is big but cozy. Staff is friendly.

It would be nicer if the villa has cutlery and a few plates, since there was a kitchen. Would be better if the bathroom offers bath bomb or something for the bathtub, it might complete the experience.

Oakwood was simply incredible from start to finish. We were here for four relaxing nights on our honeymoon to enjoy serenity and peace after travelling through the crazy cities Vietnam has to offer. We are SO glad we picked Oakwood to spend this time at. Firstly, the staff made everything PERFECT for us. They were so welcoming, kind and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We are so grateful for the lengths they go to, to make sure guest experience is the best. The villa totally exceeded our (already high) expectations. It was modern, clean and beautifully decorated and designed. It was a gorgeous open plan design downstairs with a washing machine and fridge/freezer and a huge bedroom with a balcony overlooking the lake. The bed was really big and comfortable and the curtains made the room nice and dark so we slept well. There was a bath and shower in the bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. The breakfasts were fantastic and there was so much choice. Pastries, eggs made to order, Vietnamese and Western options, plenty of fruit and fruit juices, pancakes, waffles, Nutella, a coffee station and much, much more. We ate at Oakwood one evening for dinner and it was brilliant. The waiter, Dinh Tuyen was so attentive and happy. The resort was very quiet but this is probably because it was November and low season. We literally had the huge adult pool to ourselves and during the days, we barely saw any other guests. I'm guessing it's not like this all year round. The views from the swimming pool and balcony overlooking the pool were beautiful and if you're lucky with great weather, the sunsets are pretty spectacular. There is a direct route to the beach and it takes literally 2 minutes to walk there. We did a one day boat trip of Halong Bay which we loved and would recommend. We also visited a few local restaurants (Hops & Chops and A Dong) which were both lovely.

Nice villa with very suitable space. Resort facilities are very convenient : swimming-pool, fitness center etc. as well as the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast (fantastic breakfast) !

- Overall, staffs of Oakwood Ha Long, especially receptionists are very helpful. I have no complaint. But dining staffs are not well trained which I will describle in detail in next part - Location is fine. Not very close from Ha Long market or center of the city, but if you prefer stay in the resort chill chill, that would be no problem

- Food quality is normal, not impressed, and in my opinion compared to many other 5 star resort I have been staying at, food here is not better. - The thing that made me angry the most is the attitude of dining staff (in detail Ms Thuong). I already complained to reception that day and I still think dining staffs should be re-educated or replaced, or else the quality of Oakwood does not worth 5 star level + Attitude is rude + Some staff including Ms Thuong used cell phone during working time (I myself saw by my own eyes because she/ they used phone right straight at my eye sight, in the middle of the dining room). The first day of my stay, my family table was at a comparatively bad position since when we came the dining room was already fulled. Result, there was no staff even cared to take away used dishes.. I had to call many times to get the table cleaned, and in the mean time there were staffs using cell phone! - Having a playing room for children is good point, but the room seems that it has never been cleaned? Floor is too dirty, I stayed there for 1 hour and the back of my foot totally turned black - The pool guard was not at his duty. On the first day, there was one guard. But on the second day, I noticed no one there during my 2 hour playing in the pool

Incredible staff in all areas who could not have looked after us better. Particularly Oahn at the front desk who was outstanding. The villas were spotless as were the public ares

We were there in January which was the quite seas on so the occupancy was quite down and the restaurants and bars lacked a little vibe
