beautiful location!

Very nice views right near the ocean! Air conditioning (maybe a unit for downstairs and options for upstairs would be nice). We were there when it was very hot so it was a little too steamy for our crew. Need screens for kitchen - really a must.

We loved to sit on the porch and have our morning coffee watching the spectacular view and then wander down to the beach. A wonderful, roomy house 150’ from the ocean. We will definitely be thinking about coming again!

We were in town for my parents’ 60th anniversary party. Since our family has now outgrown their house, we had to rent something. It was absolutely perfect. I grew up in this town and have always loved the ocean but we never had the luxury of living on it. Hearing the waves at night and sipping morning coffee with a picturesque view from the enclosed porch was beyond amazing. Everything was as stated in the listing. Checking in and out was a breeze. And the place was really clean and comfortable. Hope to return one day soon!

The perfect house for a relaxing getaway by the ocean! Fantastic location right across the street from the ocean with a short walk down to the beach. Bedrooms were very comfortable and clean as were all the living spaces. Best was watching the sunrise from the enclosed porch, perfect place for a morning coffee!

The house is the perfect beach cottage. We loved how close we were to the beach and being able to see the water from the front porch. The only thing I would have liked to see would be an outdoor shower and an open air porch, but neither of these would make me dislike the house. Our kids were even asking if we could come back next year!

Great house for our family of 8 plus 2 infants. Comfortable place and great location.

Wells, Maine is the quintessential small New England town. This quaint cottage was the perfect get-away for our family. Just across the street the waves crash on rocks and we occasionally saw seals swim off the shore. The space is smaller but still sleeps plenty. We weren't in Maine to sit around inside. Short walk to the beaches in either direction and walking distance to the lobster pound. Had a great time - will definitely be back.

Old cottage with charm right in the Atlantic. Loved hearing the waves as I drifted to sleep. According to the sign posted in the home, the cottage was built around 1888! Obviously it’s experienced some love, and wear and tear over the years. Cozy and welcoming.

We usually stay at beach front homes when vacationing in Wells and I was a bit skeptical. This home was great. The view of the cove and the sound of the ocean was beautiful. We will definitely book this home in the future.

Cottage was great ~ better than advertised. Very Very Clean! Enjoyed bringing in Lobster and having dinner and breakfast overlooking the water. Please be very respectful of parking to side of house and in front only ~ nice neighbor says folks park behind the house all the time and that is his property and trying to maintain a nice lawn. Super nice guy ~

We live a town over & along with our 1.5 year old daughter really wanted a quick getaway that was relaxed & convenient. Due to various factors earlier in the season our initial trip had been canceled. This was a bit of a last minute find, but worked perfectly for what we were looking for... To feel “away”. It was great! Clean, and wonderful neighbors too.

Essential items missing that I won’t go into here, but will let the management know of.. easy fixes just should be aware.

Only a few issue To note that my wife & I felt was crucial to mention that if you are traveling with young children particularly under 3 or 4 this house is old, a bit out-dated chic (perhaps?) but definitely not baby safe Or young child friendly. Open sockets, high wooden stairs, knick knacks etc. As well as very close to a busy road with no clear fencing. We made all as safe as we could manage by moving chairs, closing doors and hiding breakables. Not a deterrent but rather an important factor. We also felt if important to note as well that many of the old windows do not have screens nor are there screen doors with locks on either entrance. So be very vigilant & know you will need to be hyper aware of those factors. Although the location & old school charm of this cottage is easy & great, just know that if you’re traveling with littles who may or may not have great impulse control yet or are not steady in their feet this may not be the right home for you & your family. All in all, we wished we could have been able to stay longer, despite the tweaking upon our arrival to make it as safe as we could without upending everything. It was an expected task, but we felt it was worth noting.
Do check out the binder of old notes & finds from the original owners. It is clear that this house has a lot of years of love within those walls with some stories to tell. Overall, a nice mini trip.
