15 of us had a lovely weekend celebrating my sister’s 60th Birthday. We had a fabulous time. We were all very impressed with the accommodation. Everything we needed, home from home, spotless, modern and stunning. We loved dining around the large dining table and Also in the outdoor area. Despite it being early October, the overhead patio heaters helped make our outdoor dining/socialising comfortable, which we used often. The outdoor space was amazing, very private and would be fabulous in summer months. Pizza oven was great too! Took us a while to get it fired up, nearly had to call Drew for assistance. We had lunch in the BlackBull restaurant which was only a short walk from the house. Excellent food and very reasonable. Only one point we all agreed on was a downstairs WC would have been useful as the only WC downstairs was in the master en-suite. A hot tub in the secret garden would be an added bonus! We all had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend. Good communication with Drew via email prior to arrival, he allowed us an earlier arrival time so the majority of the group could be there before my sister arrived which helped with the surprise! She still can’t believe we managed to keep it a secret. Thank you

We were there as a family, our four kids , their partners and five grandchildren ranging from 22years to 9years old. This house had everything, great location , private but within easy reach of Ayr and lots of other destinations and activities. Facilities, all you would need to make your stay easy , two dishwashers, one on whilst other being filled. plenty of space to socialise, or find a quiet corner. The games room was a great success , kids loved it, almost as much as the adults. We were lucky with weather, scorching, but the house was great , nobody wanted to go home and I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to anyone needing this size of accommodation. Hopefully we will return one day.

Fabulous property. Have stayed in others but this was by far the best. Pictures do not do it justice. Great fun was had by all in the Games Room.

We stayed at Smithfield House last weekend for my fiancés birthday, it was the most incredible weekend. The house has everything you could ever need, so spacious and such a great layout for the separate families to be apart and come together. The games room was also a big hit! Would definitely recommend for large group getaways, location was perfect also.

Awesome property, so much space! The only thing that would make it better is a hot tub in the back! The Vrbo listings (in general) do not make it easy to see what amenities etc are provided so I used the other sites to get the info...

The games room and outdoor covered eating areas were a huge success (particularly the pizza oven). Drew and Claire were great hosts and the welcome fruit bowl (enormous!) and flowers were much appreciated. A fantastic week made even better by our luck with the weather!

We’ve just had a lovely stay at Smithfield House for the October half term school holidays. We were 3 families with children aged 1 to 8 years old. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed having meals together around the large dining room. The children loved the playroom while the adults enjoyed the covered courtyard. We had a nice BBQ and success making pizzas in the wood fired oven. Drew was a great host and the welcome pack was a pleasant surprise, we would absolutely stay again!

Excellent communication before arriving from Drew. The house was amazing, fully equipped with everything from games room with cinema system to quiet area in the garden. Huge dining area with everything you need in the kitchen. All of the house including the bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless. This house was used as a base for a golfing holiday and we will definitely be back.
