Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed 3800 Sticks and Stones for thirty days over the holiday season. It is as described, a good-sized home with European Flair. The location was superb; we were able to take a brief walk to the beach anytime of day, particularly at sunset, and we were a brief walk from all the wonderful restaurants, shops and amenities in Carmel. Plus, the home is ideally located to enjoy the Monterey Peninsula, including Pacific Gove and Monterey itself. The house itself served our family well(nine of us all together) for a several-day holiday gathering. The casita adjacent to the courtyard is an especially nice bonus for family or friends to enjoy. The courtyard is beautiful and filled with flowers. And, the-off street parking is great - such a nice thing in busy Carmel! The staff at Sanctuary Vacation Rentals, including Jeanette and Kisha, could not have been better to deal with. They were prompt and attentive to any concerns or questions we had. In addition, they were just very nice people to work with, and we’d like to give a shout out to their handy man and their cleaning help, Laura and Antonio. Plus Barbara who covered the phones at certain times was very nice to deal with, and helpful. Overall, we had a very nice stay at Sticks and Stones.

Reviewer Comments: This is our second visit to sticks and stones, and we have already booked a return trip next year – so we are obviously satisfied with the house. However, we did encounter a major problem, and it was not corrected to our satisfaction.The washing machine door (It is a front loader) was broken upon arrival. We notified Sanctuary rentals of this problem on October 2. They sent a person out to check, and they agreed that the door needed to be replaced or the unit needs to be replaced. We went back-and-forth with Sanctuary all month. They finally indicated that they could install a new unit on October 31 - the day before our departure. We asked that they let one day - so we still don’t know if they actually fixed the problem.We have asked to be compensated for our inconvenience. To date, we have not received any reply.

Approx 2 blocks to the ocean and 2 blocks to town. The Casita in the rear yar had power issues so our guess were not able to there so 2 people had to sleep on the couch. Made it a little uncomfortable at times. Sanctuary was responsive when we contacted them regarding this issue but wasn’t able to fix it during our stay. Until the power is repaired in the Casita they should advertise the home for 8 people not 10.

With pleasant, comfortable, clean, roomy, well-equipped accommodations, in the perfect location, this was exactly what we needed for our annual January getaway to this beautiful town. Sun, surf, and sand, great restaurants, miles of beach and trails to walk. My only disappointment is that Sticks and Stones is not available for next January.
