We arrived to a seamless apartment in the heart of Carmel. The first thing we noticed was the property was well maintained. It was very clean. The windows in the main room are awesome and the host was very kind to provide a wine and cheese gift upon entry. We were able to walk everywhere. Parking was easy and we got a spot out front. The restaurant below in the courtyard was spectacular. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and will be booking again soon!

What a great find! We really enjoyed our stay at Pine Place. There was plenty of space for the four of us and the central location was excellent. Both beds were very comfortable, the bath towels were new and fluffy, the kids loved the huge TV, and we appreciated the extras such as cheese & crackers on arrival and a set of nice beach towels. If you want to stay somewhere super modern and fancy, this probably isn't the spot for you. But if you are looking for somewhere with classic Carmel vibes that is spacious, comfortable, and welcoming - and is steps away from everything - then you'll be happy with this rental. We will definitely be back!

I am a travel nurse. I ended my job in Seattle and planned a driving trip with two friends down the west coast. We stopped in Carmel for a couple nights. The apartment in Carmel was clean, very spacious and visually appealing. The location is in the center of everything. There is a restaurant on site that was delicious. I will definitely stay in the condo again.

We had a great stay, the staff was great with booking help, questions, and I liked the check out questionnaire. Your team did a great job with everything Location can't be beat but we wouldn't visit this exact unit again as the bathroom is so outdated and really needs to be remodeled. The couch was also dirty and very dated. The unit could really use a ceiling fan to help with how warm it gets during the day, even with the blinds closed. We really wish the unit had a dishwasher as well. We know the unit was cleaned, but it felt like it was dirty due to how dated everything was. Overall, the team at Sanctuary Vacation rentals were wonderful, the location of the unit is incredible as you can walk everywhere. But the unit is dated and needs some work done to it.

Loved this upstairs flat near the upper part of Ocean Ave. The location was excellent for to walking to restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, the cheese store, and the local grocer. It also had nice touches like a bottle of wine, and cheese and crackers for us on arrival, coffee, tea, and microwave popcorn (which my children especially liked). There is a big construction project occurring across the street at started at 7:30AM on Monday morning, but hopefully it is completed soon! I also appreciated the containers of soaps and conditioner in the bath (no individual plastic containers!) and Britain’s water filter in the frig! Beds were comfy, too!

Flat worked for our 3 gf weekend - bathroom was a bit tight and outdated, but overall a great space for the three of us.

Escaping some family tension, we retreated to this lovely flat very centrally located in beautiful Carmel. We were able to walk through downtown, to dinner, and down to the beach to enjoy the spectacular sunsets... The kitchen was more than adequate for us to cook a bone-in turkey breast, various sides, and two pies from scratch. Really a great stay!

Nice place to stay when visiting Carmel--close to everything! 1 bathroom was a little tough to manage & very old school but clean. Check in was a little stressful as was called 2 days beforehand by managing agent saying I had to fill out more paperwork besides VRBO but we got through.

This rental was perfect for anyone wanting to be close to all the shops, restaurants, and the beach. It actually has one of the most tasteful restaurants right across from the stairway (Carmels Hidden Gem) and a short walk to Ocean Ave for shops and eats as well as a peaceful 15 minute walk to the beach as you pass through a variety of stores and restaurants. All that to say it was nestled in a very quiet neighborhood. 5 stars across the board and would stay again.

Great property, clean, within walking distance to the main strip on Ocean Ave and Carmel's awesome stores/restaurants. If there's a popular event in Monterey, Carmel area, I could see street parking could be a problem as there's no designated spot for your car(s). The curfew keeps everyone quiet after 9pm'ish, but if the downstairs restaurant is busy, the noise after 9pm is pretty loud with their outdoor seating. Overall - it was a great experience.

One the up side it's a great location, the unit is spacious and the folks at Sanctuary were pleasant and responsive. On the down side....the shower window is boarded up with a piece of plywood, the bathroom sink has zero water pressure, the bed linens were visibly dirty, bed linens were of very low quality and the only blanket was a cheep fleece, the unit gets very cold at night and heating system is inadequate, WAY too many throw pillows - to the point we had to make a pile in the corner to get them out of the way. I do not recommend this unit as it is.

The facility is conveniently located just blocks from the center of the village. It was clean and nicely appointed with dishes and cookware. However, instead of being a residential complex, the entire first level houses retail businesses. Also the unit is old, water pressure is very low, and the furniture and appliances need updating. The mattress on the main bed is quite worn. It is nearly impossible to heat the second bedroom.

The apartment was ideally located, just on the edge of Carmel. Everything was within easy walking distance, which was great The Village Gem restaurant was excellent.

Feel like a Carmel native in this cute apartment. Only a few blocks to town, surrounded by fantastic restaurants including The Hidden Gem, cousin to the Michelin rated Yaso right next door.
Be on notice - construction across the street begins at 8am and will probably last until January 2023.

This loft was nice with great position to town to make for easy walks. Great to not have to work about parking and can just walk to dinner and enjoy Carmel in the evening.
Parking is a challenge, the 4 spots that are 24 hours can be in high demand. We couldn't get one at first but in the evening after people went home we were able to snag a spot. Otherwise the guest packet mentioned a 24hr lot near by but we didn't have to use it.
The unit was okay, needs some updates, particularly the windows which are old single pane. It was hot in the unit during the day and cold in the morning. They have two tower fans which were essential. Bathroom could use some updates as well.
We turned the heater on in the morning and it smelled like it hadn't been run in a long time and so we had to turn it off.
Most of this property is the location. They have some nice stuff in the unit but just needs some updates to be great. Would recommend this place for the location.

Location is great you can walk to almost everything. Unit needs a little TLC, for instance, it was warm when we went but there is no A/C. So we had to open windows. Problem is, only a few windows opened, the screens (if even there, 2 windows didn’t have them) didn’t fit right or had holes, letting spiders in. Windows were in poor condition, very hard to open and close. Hard to sleep past sunrise in the big room....skylights are great but not when they are in your bedroom. Appreciated having fans around, that helped. Appreciated the cheese/crackers/and wine. Cute place in general in a good location, just needs a little refresh. Wish parking spots were assigned for the unit.

When we arrived at the Pine flat we realized that the flat was only geared to two persons (instead of four as marketed) as the second bedroom is more a small unheated no window storage room than a bedroom. Furthermore, the bathroom is at max 1 star quality (stained shower and very small toilet) and not at all geared to four people. Tableware was not clean. Furthermore, we were deceived about the noise from a construction site right opposite the street which was unbearable. In sum: a complete disappointment not worth half of the price we paid.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 3797 Pine Place. This is a lovely unit and gave us room to spread out a bit. It would be a little tight for two couples since you have to walk through the shared bath to get to the secondary bedroom, but it was perfect for my husband and I to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Our only issue was that the weather was unseasonably warm the first two days of our visit and it was quite warm in the afternoon and early evening. The second day the management company brought us a second fan to help.
