First and foremost, let's talk about the location and overall charm of this beach house. It's absolutely fantastic! The house is situated in a prime spot with breathtaking views and the beach just a stone's throw away. The property exudes a unique character that makes it stand out from the rest. The kitchen is a highlight for those who love to cook and socialize. It's surprisingly well-stocked with various kitchen utensils, thanks to what seems to be contributions of previous guests. While the items might not be the best quality, they do the job and allow you to whip up some fantastic meals while enjoying the ocean view. The upper level boasts a split-level master suite with a cozy sleeping area overlooking the ocean, complete with sliding glass doors leading to a covered balcony. The other four bedrooms on the main floor each have their own bathroom, with two of them also having doors to a deck facing the ocean. Take your time to look around at all of the details. There are thousands of those charming little things either as part of the furnishings, or hanging as art. Of course, one of the most interesting pieces, what appears to be a ship’s helm fastened to the base of the staircase. Now, I can’t be sure, but it looks like the columns used for the staircase are from ships’ masts. We just loved this house! I The living area is spacious and perfect for larger groups, providing ample room for everyone to feel comfortable. Had more, but I'm out of space..

We enjoyed our stay. The wall of windows in the living room area make for a spectacular view of sunrises and the ocean. We had no problem working remotely. We would recommend including step-by-step instructions regarding the elevator at the time check-in instructions are given. Step one being to check the circuit breaker upstairs near the master bedroom to ensure the elevator is switched to on. We opted not to use the elevator since we had already unloaded our stuff by the time we realized the elevator was switched off. The location was perfect for us. We would stay here again.

This home was lovely! There was always something new we noticed in the décor which is always fun. The views were perfection. Even though we had a rainy day, we were able to sit inside and watch the waves roll in and surfers brave the chill. We did have a complication with the heat and couldn’t get the main floor warmer than 60 degrees. We also had a newborn with us and we were able to communicate with the property managers but no one showed up so that was disappointing. We were only there for three nights and the sun finally came out on our last day which helped. It’s always a bit disappointing when you have a legitimate complaint and no one shows up. Without that issue, we would give it five stars!

This home is everything you want in a beach house and more! It is cozy and clean. Unique and spacious. We were so happy here for the week with our family. We did not want to leave! We will be back!

Beautiful, large house right on the beach! We loved the location and view! Had a few minor issues that we contacted property management about but they were responsive. Love that it was dog friendly. We would stay there again!

This is the best house!! Vacasa was wonderful to work with and when minor elevator issues arose, they were at the house in ten minutes after we called! Class act and GREAT HOUSE!!

Beautifully decorated.

First, the place was exceptionally clean when we checked in which we greatly appreciated. It is just a wonderful home and location. There are a lot of stares but they also have an elevator so the stares should not be an issue. The balcony on the top floor off the "Master" bedroom provided exceptional views. Each BR has an ensuite bath so it is very conducive to hosting several families. It is dog friendly although prior occupants had not picked up after their pups. Comfortable furniture, comfortable beds and well appointed, beautiful kitchen.

Home is spacious, every bedroom has its own bathroom with is great, views and location are spectacular.

Cannot beat the location. The house has been neglected. We had problems with the dishwasher, could not lock the door to the deck so our dog and toddler could push it open, the elevator that our handicapped family member needed was out of order sporadically. Televisions in bedrooms not working. Rental company did their best to help but could do just so much. Owners are not on site so we were not able to get some things fixed. For the price, we expected everything to be in working order.

The good. Beautiful ocean front views. Easy access to beach. Spacious primary bedroom with large walk in closet. The bad. The dishwasher leaks and does not clean dishes. The main floor elevator door safety latch does not work which, when opened, exposes the elevator shaft and a dangerous drop off. The door handle on the beach side of the house is broken and the locking mechanism does not work. The ugly. Bugs, that look like tiny cockroaches, occupy the kitchen sink area at night. Broken lamp in main bedroom. Many light bulbs need to be replaced. More generally, the layout of the house is excellent. The four main level bedrooms each have private baths. There is also a lovely powder room and an outdoor bathroom. The ocean views are beautiful. The main living area is spacious but only has soft seating for 5 people. Having rented many beachfront homes at Folly over the years, I found this house to be a poor value. The cost of our five night stay was around 8K. I expected a well maintained home for that amount.

Four generations of our family, from age 2 to 82, stayed at Charisma By The Sea over the holidays. We chose the house because it met all of our requirements: large kitchen, beachfront, ensuite bathrooms for all bedrooms, elevator, and ADA bathroom. We enjoyed ocean views from the many windows in the living room, so even on the chilly days we had a front row seat to the beach. This was especially nice for my mom, who is limited in her mobility and could sit at a sunny window and enjoy the view. The house is well represented by the pictures and description. We really enjoyed the eclectic nature of the house and furnishings. The kitchen is huge and very well equipped. We did a lot of cooking and had everything we needed. The deck is large with comfortable seating. The beach is wonderful, with long stretches for running and walking, beautiful shells, starfish and sand dollars to discover, plenty of space for frisbee, and kite flying. Angel at Vacasa was extremely responsive to all of my questions, both before and after our arrival. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would return to this house in the future.

One of the most eclectic and fun beach houses we have ever rented. Great views, great deck, great space. High ceilings make this feel Very spacious.elevator is helpful. Lots of parking!

We are already looking to rent again in March. Loved it.

We loved the house last year and again this year, except, the elevator quit working on Monday so we had to do without it for the rest of the week. Vacasa did do all they could to help but we and they were at the mercy of the elevator company. Two of us have trouble with stairs so this was a problem for us for sure. We also didn't have full use of the TV's as the cable only worked in the living room. We of course didn't come to the beach to watch TV but some of us like to watch at night before bedtime and this year wasn't possible. Again, Vacasa did all they could but we and they were at the mercy of the cable company. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves a lot and have already booked for the same week next year. We would suggest that a toaster would be nice in the kitchen.

I gave the home a overall rating of 4 stars but….. had some issues. I do not think the amount I paid for the house was in accordance of what we found at the house. I was disappointed. The house was big and accommodating. The beds slept well and were comfortable. The kitchen was large and very well stocked. But, when we got to the house it was not locked and secured. The elevator was unlocked. Anyone could of gained access at that point. Then once we were in ( and we actually entered the front door w/ key code as directed ) the double doors to the back deck was unlocked and the doors blew open when we entered house. A back bedroom on first floor has door issues as well. Apparently it had been a issue previously b/c there was a additional large hook lock to keep the door secure. But it was not secure. The door handle fell off in our hands as we tried to secure the door. It needed a screw in the handle to keep the handle on. We found out later that a mechanism was supposedly ordered for the door. But the door was not instilling a feeling of security to two females staying in the house. We also found a window unlocked and up in the bedroom across the hall. I reported the issues. Received a text from a Vacasa representative. She said she’d send maintenance out the next day. I said no we did not feel safe for the night w/o something securing the back bedroom door. She indicated she was 45 mins away from Folly. I said ok… we’ll be expecting you. She did show up. Was not friendly or courteous. And I know it was 9 pm… but not my fault. She said the house had been inspected that day prior to our arrival which could not of been accurate otherwise these issues would of been noted. She did manage to secure the door for us that night. Then stomped out, not happy. The next day a very nice maintenance man did come out ( Michael) he made the necessary repairs to keep the door handle on the door. Again for the price of staying in the home I think some issues need to be addressed. I know it’s a beach front house and wear and tear occurs due to elements. The roof is in horrible shape and we were there but left early as Hurricane Nicole / tropical storm and storm surge started and hit Folly Beach. Window panes are old and rusted and as the winds gusted windows that were locked popped open. We secured them before we got out a day early b/c we did not feel secure in the house as the storm surge hit. The tide was up to our deck steps and we thought we might not be able to leave due to flooding as the storm approached. I say all this not b/c I want money back. I’m not expecting that at all! Just pointing out some issues that I felt fell below the mark for a house advertised being this certain caliber and renting for this amount. Thank you.

This is THE best beach house! Perfect for our large family and has all the room you need! Fully stocked and breathtaking views! My absolute favorite!

We booked Charisma on a whim for a last minute getaway, one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! This home is huge, and full of coastal charm. The elevator was a pleasant surprise and made loading and unloading so easy! Our kids loved it too! The kitchen is well stocked, and this home has plenty of space to spread out. It’s the first trip we’ve taken in a long time that we didn’t want to leave!

Super fun, eclectic house RIGHT on the ocean at Folly... super fun spot and house was comfortable and well stocked! So much space with 5 bedrooms, all with own baths. Great for large groups/families! Kitchen has TWO fridges and all you could ever need to cook meals for large groups. Best of all is the WONDERFUL spot on the beach!!
