Einfach wunderschöne Zimmer, wir konnten in absoluter ruhe wunderbar entspannen. Warm, sauber, schön eingerichtet, alles war für uns Perfekt und ich würde sehr gerne nichmal kommen.

Un lieu chaleureux qui nous a permis de vivre une parenthèse romantique des plus dépaysant. Nous recommandons vivement la chambre avec la baignoire SPA, moment unique !

Location was great amazing views, apartment was very nice.
Staff were not helpful. Arrived and no cot was in the room despite having emailed to confirm one was available. On check in no one advised me on general info like wifi and check out times. There was no information booklet the room so had to go back to reception to ask about wifi. Checked the check out times on booking.com which said 7, when I went to check out at 7.40 was told check out was at 8, and if I wanted to check out at 7 I had to inform the night before but there was nowhere that this was clear.

Everything else that I don't mention in the next part were perfect
- The Housekeeper didn't provide new towels every day, eventhough I have through the old ones on the ground, they were just picken up, folded and put back to fisrt the place
- The breakfast is served from 8:30 which is too late for some people and they haven't mentioned it on the website.
- The staff speak very basic english so it is a bit difficult to comunicate

The proximity to the restaurant which serves great food. The location (view ), peace and quiet, nice walks. The parking was on-site and free of charge. The staff went the extra mile and catered for us even when the restaurant was deemed full. Great service, going the extra mile !
I would be really picky with this answer as we really have no complaints. One window was cracked in the front room, the ventilation in the bathroom is not great especially when x3 persons shower after each other. The temporary bed is quite small. These are all very minor things to us, as I stated we were over the moon with this part of our holiday. We were returning from Italy.

Le Vieux Chalet is a gem in the heart of Gruyere. One can feel such love and meticulous care in every corner and little detail. Also, unforgettable was the warm welcome of such friendly staff. Outdoor dining was wonderful and breakfast was plentiful, a far cry from the typical Swiss breakfast offering. Our stay was delightful and the hotel exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.

A charming little boutique hotel that's rustic on the outside but has modern conveniences amid the local touches. Spectacular views from the restaurant & some of the rooms. Great staff bent over backwards to help us celebrate after a wedding. Comfortable beds, great shower. Excellent gourmet meal at restaurant. Peaceful. Delightful stay. Near Charmey for hiking & Broc for Cailler Maison du Chocolat. Highly recommended.

The view is wonderful, really breathtaking! worth the visit. The staff is very very friendly! :-)
We would have appreciated a heads up that a car is needed in this area. Walking uphill with luggage from the bus station is not very easy. Also, there’s not much to do in the village - a car is needed!
Breakfast is a bit on the lighter side. We arrived at 9:30 and it seemed they were out of some things. They didn’t refill, they brought us for the table 2 slices of cold cut and 4 slices of cheese. We found it a bit odd as this is not much for 2 people.

very beautiful! our room was overlooking the mountains and lake, it was breathtaking!
The chalet is clean and quiet. We absolutely loved it… dinner was exquisite and staff were really nice and helpful.
it’s a little on the pricey side, but we enjoyed our stay so much! would gladly come back :)
