Great home with amazing views.

We had a great stay at Casa Ligera. The house is a great location (note that it not on the beach - but on the water.) Beautiful view of the ocean. A couple things that seemed different than the description. The house is a bunch of rooms connected by outdoor hallways. The only room in the main house is the primary. This house is NOT for young families. From the sunken living room where someone could just walk off the kitchen onto a concrete couch to the extremely steep and winding stairs to the primary to very little in the way of railings in the outdoor hallways to no railings or fencing around the pool, we all commented that it could be really scary for anyone under the age of about 8. Note that the white room is only 3 twin beds - no dresser or anywhere to put your things. I think the description says two beds. The maintenance team is top-notch. They were quick to address small issues and were very attentive. They even replaced the outdoor furniture when they realized that it wasn't up to their standards (we didnt even notice.). Really great team! Not sure we would go to Akumal again but the house worked for a fun Spring Break for our friends.

Extremely enjoyable community in Akumal. Great location, even though there was no sandy beach The Villa was situated in such a way that it allowed plenty of privacy and space Probably not the best place for small children too many stairs and no way to shut off the pool area. I don’t like how commercialized AKUMAL beach has become. We were constantly bombarded by sales people. It’s a shame because every year we’ve stayed there before. It was such a restful place to be In all I give the Villa a high rating.

The house had so much space and privacy! It comes with household staff so laundry is done every day. We appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine and the location.

We really enjoyed our stay and had a lot of fun on our girls trip getaway. The house is situated in a gated community with lots of little bars and restaurants within walking distance. The housekeepers were helpful, and the host was responsive if we had any questions. Every room in the main house has a great ocean view! Thanks for hosting us Breanne!

The property was lovely great location it looks exactly like pics. We were able to walk or ride bikes to anywhere in the Akumal Village. Although the property did not have bikes in hand easy to rent nearby. Perfect place to relax and just enjoy the Ocean and Pool and great nearby restaurants. The Yal Ku Cenote Lagoon is within walking distance amazing snorkeling. Other Cenotes and Tulum nearby for other activities. We had an amazing experience everyone was helpful and kind the property manager put me in contact with the best Chef and Transportation company. Chef Antonio's crew was the best super professional Chef Jorge as well was the bomb! Mariano Transportation crew Nelson and Aldo were Awesome not enough words to express our gratitude. So lovely and just what we needed and were looking for to relax would go back for sure. So happy I found Casa Ligera thank you!!!

We were celebrating a bachelorette party, and the house was perfect for us. All the bedrooms have their own bath, everyone is well spread out, and the shared spaces are comfortable with unbelievable views. The downtown is an easy walk and felt very safe. Several cute restaurants and shops to explore. You MUST have chef Adrian prepare at least one meal for you…many of the ladies in our party felt it was the best meal they’d ever eaten. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Casa Ligera and would stay here again, if in the area. Every detail at the house was excellent and Chef Adrian was outstanding!

Casa Ligera was an absolute dream. We were 10 adults and there was more than enough space for all of us. The rooms are big and spread out so everyone feels like they have their own private space. We hardly even used the guest house since we had enough space for all of us in the main house. The beds and pillows were super comfortable! Great towels and shampoo conditioner etc. in all of the bathrooms. Cleaners came everyday to help mop and take out trash and check on if everything was ok. The property owners were truly SOOOOO incredible with responding to us. I asked a million questions before going and they were absolutely wonderful. Casa ligera is truly a dream and I highly recommend it for family or friends or anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed vibe! Akumal is really a cute little area and it is not difficult to get a driver to take you into tulum or Cancun. Highly highly recommend!

We were a large group of 14 and had a difficult time finding an equitable distribution of rooms for all parties. A stay at the guest house is definitely not as ideal as staying in the house proper. Interfamily politics aside the house was fantastic. We were meticulously cared for by Maria and Alfredo who made certain the house and terrace were clean, well-stocked and in tip top shape. Minor issues (screen door off-track, toilet leak, torn wind sail) were dealt with immediately. At dinner we were glad to be pampered by Chef Emilio and his trusted sidekick Esteban. I would highly recommend taking advantage of chef. His meals were fantastic. The house is a great place for the whole family to hang out together in the morning and evening. It also acts as a terrific jumping off point for most daily excursions on the peninsula while residing in a sleepier, safer location close to Yal-ku.

Our stay at Casa Ligera was excellent. The property was gorgeous, pictures don’t do that place justice! Plenty of space for all 14 of us. We had brunch with the chef, it was delicious! I’d definitely stay here again.

The host was amazing and the house was 100% excellent. My family and I enjoyed our stay and the view of the ocean was breath taking. Catching the sun rise from the view was priceless. The house manager was very Helpful. Chef Adrian made us the best Mexican dishes and he and his team was amazing. The neighborhood is safe.. secure and welcoming. Nothing to worry about .

Beautiful clean and airy house walking distance to Akumal Beach

It was exactly what we were looking for! I highly recommend it. The house is great, the views, even down to the linens...all wonderful. The area is very quiet, but has several nice restaurants/bars...and you are just a short drive to Tulum for gorgeous beach and nightlife...or a fun beach club and brunch. Playa Del Carment is about 30 min in the other direction for shopping and even more dining and the ferries to Cuzumel. I cannot say enough about Chef Emilio....he is FANTASTIC!!! The food was great and he was just so much fun to have around and easy to work with. We will be back!

Casa Ligera is absolutely beautiful. My guests and I had a wonderful time. The hosts were very responsive and the housekeepers were friendly and helpful. The villa is close to nice restaurants (within walking distance) and local vendors/markets. I definitely plan to book another stay at Casa Ligera!

Had a great time ☺ amazing house

It is hard to know where to begin it was so wonderful!!! We have rented homes all over the world in Turkey, Greece, Italy, California, and Florida. This one was amazing. First of all in most places the pictures are far nicer than the actual home. This has occurred on more than one occasion for me. However, with this home, the pictures do not do it justice. I want to say that we had a beautiful large vacation rental in Destin Florida and it was furnished and supplied very well. However, this home out shined ours by far. It is 1st rate with everything available from the Starbucks espresso, milk frother, coffee maker, ninja blender, hand blown glasses, beverage pictures, toaster, grills, and very nice cookware. I wanted to come home and re supply our kitchen. Pool toys are supplied and we utilized the grill as they had charcoal and lighter fluid. The view is absolutely spectacular from every room and the rooftop! Large table inside and outside for family dinners. The main house has four bedrooms, two on each side, one above the other with more than enough room for our family of nine that came from Germany and the US. Each room has a wonderfully furnished bedroom and bathroom. Every bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, Qtips, towels, hair dryers, and shower gel and is beautifully done. The bedding is so comfortable with huge very soft pillows. Our main bedroom had two futons that were handy for our small grandchildren. Mari and Alfredo were wonderful, polite and accommodating. There is a basket of beach towels in the den and when they need cleaning, Mari is quick to change them out. Every day they offered to clean but we declined as we all picked up and kept it neat. On on our second day I gave her laundry that was returned dried and folded. I used google translate and it made communication very easy. I cannot say enough how nice this home was!!! I will say that we did not do any beach time as we found it was a little smaller than expected and we were spending 4 days in Cancun. Therefore we stayed and enjoyed the home with the exception of the Yal Ku lagoon. That was very nice with hammocks, beautiful vegetation, and great snorkeling. If you make a right out the drive and walk 5 minutes, there are a few small shops on the left and a restaurant on the right. It is beachfront dining, extremely reasonable, has a pool for kids, and the best coconut shrimp I have every had!! THIS HOME WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!

Our group very much enjoyed staying in Akumal. The home was beautiful, spacious, well-equipped, peaceful. Ideal for a retreat or vacation. Caught every sunrise. One thing I'd recommend is to put instructions for the stove/oven in the welcome book so that no one caught off-guard when they press the ignition button. Otherwise a dream!

Casa Ligera did not disappoint in any way. From the moment you have your first glimpse of the property you know you are in a special place. The accommodations, staff and location are all exemplary. Our group of family members ranging in age from 2 - 65 years old shared time together easily at Casa Ligera. We gathered comfortably around the pool, the kitchen and the living area. We also took private time in our rooms. We love to cook and the kitchen was well-stocked and roomy. The rooftop deck at sunset was truly a gift - the ocean behind us and the sun rays in front of us made for some memorable pictures. Excellent and comfortable beds made for good sleep. Updated and stylish bathrooms with great showers were welcoming at the end of the day at the beach. We were provided with snorkel gear, beach towels and water toys as an added bonus. The house is situated so that there are many walkable activities such as artisan shopping, snorkeling, cenote and lagoon swimming, and restaurants. We were lucky enough to spot a coati and an agouti on one of our strolls. Within an hours' drive is Tulum and Playa del Carmen if you need to venture away. I can't say enough nice things about this property. Our memories were made! Owners are 100% responsive!
