This house and community had a great beach vibe and felt truly like a home away from home! The top floor bedroom had a unique set up that even adults loved. The decks were so spacious for 10 adults to spend some time together outside without leaving the house and play some games. The house was well cleaned and prepared for us prior to check in time. The organization and extras that the house had like beach chairs, kitchen appliances & gadgets, board games, linens, etc was amazing and definitely set apart from other rentals on Sunset Island. The property managers were readily available to answer any questions prior to and during the stay. They were also willing to work with us on checkin and checkout times that made traveling that much easier. Highly highly recommend this property!

We had a great time staying in this beautiful house. The space was great for our crew. Plenty of room for the adults and kids to have their own spaces to sleep and hang. Being walking distance from Sweet Frog and Longboard restaurant was a huge plus. The kids enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and walking around the community. The owners were also great with communication! Definitely a wonderful place to stay!

This is a very nice community, and you do not need to really go out for a beach. The location is close to everything, such as resaurants and other stores. We would defenitely recommend to anyone.

Spacious open kitchen and living room area to relax and eat between games at the St. Patrick’s day men’s soccer tournament. Great accommodations!!!

We had a wonderful time and the hosts were incredibly accommodating. The kitchen was well-supplied and there were games for the kids. Beds were comfy and the house was spotless. Fantastic location!

The property is in a great location, about equal distance between the ocean and the bay. Our family especially liked the bay and the pool area plus there are several places to eat and get supplies. While we felt comfortably isolated on the island, it was just a short walk to a grocery store, and plenty of dining and entertainment establishments. Only downsides were lack of adequate parking for a large family and limited amenities on the ground floor (no dresser or shower). We enjoyed our stay and would return if our family got a little smaller.

Our family had a great week at this spacious home on Sunset Island over Fourth of July week. We had adults, teens and a toddler, and there was room for all to spread out and plenty to do on property and within walking distance to keep everyone active! We had a minor glitch with check-in and Maggie was immediately accessible and got everything sorted out right away. Great property and great hosts!

Great, large property on exclusive island with nice amenities

To start I should say that I am a very picky person :) I travel a lot and and the accommodations are a big decision when I go to a location. I selected Sunset Island as a specific location because I was traveling with two teenagers. SI offers a safe haven for responsible teens as they can walk throughout the development safely but still have things to do. The fountains, bay beach, “corner” store and community walkways allow the kids to be free, but safe. If they venture out of the gated community they can safely go to a few stores and get ice cream without crossing Coastal Highway and that was important to me. In regards to the home, it was exactly as listed. There were only five of us. My husband and three kids and we had an abundance PLUS of space. We had hoped friends could visit but it didnt work out. In my opinion, two separate families could share this home and still have extra space. The first floor bedroom is away from it all and has a bathroom with it, perfect of travelling with in-laws. What the photos do not show is that there are three wrap around decks and one smaller private one. All furnished. We spent a ton of time on them! The top floor bedroom with the four bunks was perfect, be advised there is a deck off of that room so if you travel with littles that may be a concern. The kitchen was very well appointed and the mattress in the master was AMAZING and I have a bad back. My youngest said it was the most comfortable he had ever slept on. I appreciated basic necessities at check like toilet paper and garbage bags. They have a Keurig and regular coffee maker, :). Two living spaces allow everyone to spread out. Beach chairs and a wagon to transport were in the garage. Huge TV and massive sectional sofa in living room. I will stay there again for sure. As my kids age I may leave Sunset Island for an oceanside location but this is the area to stay for many more years. The Owners also had this so very organized. I received a text with my entry code and never felt like I didn’t have the information that I needed. They checked on us :) and communicated every step of the way. It was actually the easiest VRBO I have stayed it. Also if you have really young ones, the bird on the porch is reminiscent of the bird from Pixar’s UP (different color) but the little guy was obsessed.

Kids range from 2-13 years old and they all had a blast on the bay floating around on rafts and searching for hermit crabs. Also can order drinks/lunch to your chair (fabulous). Pool there as well. Just a short 2 min walk to the ocean beach and had tons of fun there too. Wrap around decks perfect for coffee in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

Given the fact that just about every large "beach" house was booked by mid-May, we lucked out when we found this property in Ocean City. We much prefer the quiet of the Outer Banks, but were very happy with the Sunset Island set-up. It provided some isolation from the heavy tourist areas in the South End. The property was perfectly situated should we want the pool, bayside beach, or the ocean beach which the young'uns preferred in the AM and the pool in the PM. The kitchen is well-stocked with just about anything you'd want, including a Ninja blender which was perfect for slushies. I think there was a TV in every room and most had available streaming channels. If there was a downside, it was the air conditioning system which kept us cool, but at different temperatures on each floor. I mentioned this to the owner who said they would have an HVAC company see if they can balance it. That certainly was not a deal breaker.
