Stayed with my wife and dog for 8 nights. The property with the pond is amazing. Our dog never had so much fun. The deck, hot tub, and grill were all top notch. So were the beds. Very comfortable. Had a blast. Don't hesitate to book.

We had a great stay. We enjoyed the hot tub & fire pit. Pearl, my daughter's English Cocker Spaniel, loved swimming in the pond. Having the locking gates on the deck were great & the dog loved going in & out of the house/ deck without a leash. Margaretville itself was very small, but we had several meals at fabulous restaurants there. We did a day trip to Woodstock. I would recommend that to others considering the property. It's about a 45 minute drive from Margaretville.

This is a beautiful home that is spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything you need for a Catskills getaway. Proximity to Margaretville/Arkville/Andes makes it a vacation destination to be sure. The view and surroundings are breathtaking from day to night. Hot tub and pool table are the perfect amenities. The lake was wonderful for swimming. Can't wait to return.

The view from the porch should be a picture on your wall. Being able to see it in person, with the sounds of nature around you, was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway. The house was nice, clean and comfortable, though we spent most of our times outdoors. We would definitely be willing to come back again

House was very nice, just like the photos. Our whole family loved jumping in the pond and swimming! The hot tub worked perfectly and was enjoyed by all! Margretville was a small version of Woodstock with gift shops, art,thrift store and places to eat. House was a little far from popular hikes and attractions, about an hour drive. Other than that it was a perfect vacation.

Listing is accurate. Place is clean and quiet. Have to emphasize quiet. Has all the amenities you need in the kitchen. We enjoyed our stay.

The house and property were even more beautiful than the pictures! Everything inside was clean and well cared for. The furnishings were tasteful and the kitchen very well stocked, not only with pots and pans, but pretty much any spices you might need. Even the sheets on the beds were high quality! The property was also amazing! The view of the mountains was spectacular and the pond! The pond was perfect! My husband and I spent hours out by the pond everyday with our dog who loves to swim. Sometimes a pond can be a little stagnant. Not this pond! It was so clean with lots of visible fish and frogs and no lily pads or undergrowth. In other words, a perfect pond. Overall, it was a dream Catskill Mountain vacation:) We will definitely be back!

We could not have chosen a better place to stay for our multi-generational family gathering this past weekend! The mountain and valley views were spectacular- even with a bit of rain. The home had everything we needed and more, and the host's communication was outstanding. We were all extremely comfortable and only wished for more time when it was time to go. I rented the house for a mini getaway for my husband’s 40th birthday. We had friends and kids with us and everyone LOVED the views and the quiet getaway. The kids loved making s’mores by the fire pit, and finding frogs by the pond. We also really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The house was comfortable and had everything that we needed. We have stayed here a few times during the winter to ski at Belleayre. It's an easy drive to the mountain. The house is cozy, and the beds are warm and wonderful. I always sleep well here. The host and I communicated easily and quickly. Love the pool table in the lower floor, too!

This home is very special. The house is located right on a lake that overlooks the Catskill Mountains. The inside of the house was clean, cozy, and well stocked with essentials in the kitchen. My kids loved the pool table and hot tub. We were also able to bring our dog which was an added bonus. Can’t wait to return to this house! The house was perfect for our long weekend skiing at Belleayre. It is on a beautiful property with a great view and private pond. It is also close to the town. Very well maintained; the kitchen had everything we needed, and we enjoyed using the fireplace and pool table.

House was beautiful, well stocked, in a perfect area that was so quiet and relaxing yet close to Margaretville Main St stores, supermarket, and CVS! Very close to Belleayre, great local restaurants—book put together by Neil and his family was a great help! Loved loved loved the hot tub which was nice after a day on the slopes! We will definitely be back!

Neil was a wonderful host who was very responsive and provided everything we needed. The house is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice! We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

It simply doesn’t get better - serene location, view, beautiful house with plenty to do and/or relax in. Our dogs were in absolute heaven; we feel so very fortunate that they were welcomed to join us in such a pristine, well-kept home. They ran in the field, swam in the pond, while we made s’mores in the fire pit, played pool & other games, and relaxed on the perfect deck. This house is just a dream!

What a beautiful birthday weekend we had!!! The place was amazing!! They have everything you need there!! The beds were comfy, the hot tub was amazing, and the view was spectacular.

The views from this home are heavenly! They can be enjoyed from most every room, but especially from the huge deck that has plenty of seating, along with a table for six. It was very nice to be able to barbecue and eat outside while enjoying the gorgeous views. The stargazing was wonderful, and in the mornings, the mist in the valley below made for some very pretty pictures. The private pond was bigger than it looked from the pictures, and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming from the dock. It was also nice to be able to bring our dogs who also enjoyed the pond. The rooms in the house looked just as the pictures do, and the kitchen was very well stocked. The owners provide beach towels as well as oversized bath towels in the bathrooms. It was also very nice to have so many of the basic supplies such as paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, etc., already in the house. The pool table was great to have, and they also have many board games and puzzles available for use. The house is in a very private location, but only a few minutes from Margaretville. Margaretville is a very nice little town with shops and places to eat. We also enjoyed the Rail Explorers ride in Phonecia - lots of fun, but be sure to make advanced reservations. We had a wonderful time, even with some rain, and would highly recommend this home!

My friends and I totally enjoyed our visit in Margaretville. What an amazing home nestled in the wilderness. We enjoyed the vast deck for bbqing & cocktails relaxing in the hot tub. Most of all I enjoyed the outdoor shower stall..Nature all around you. There's so much to do in this quaint tri-level home. Such an awesome landscape of lush greenery & a mountain horizon. We swam in the pond & I biked all around town. Our hosts have a lovely sanctuary & I truly had a great time as my friends did as well. The beds are comfy cozy... home is tidy... I would totally return!!... Kudo's to Neil & Erin... Unforgettable Fox Ridge !!

We had a great stay with our preschooler and baby. The views from the deck were stunning and our preschooler loved swimming in the pond. The house was very well equipped and comfortable and we were surprised there were virtually no mosquitoes. Great proximity to grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants. Will definitely be returning in the future!

My husband and I along with three teenage boys and a dog had a wonderful stay at Fox Ridge. The house was very clean and comfortable, the property was very private, and the kids loved swimming and kayaking in the pond. Check in and check out were so easy and everything you could need during your stay is provided. My whole family can’t wait to return next summer.

Exactly as described, but should add that any necessary kitchen cooking item was there. Conveniences like grocery store, pharmacy and a diner-type "eat-in or carryout" not far away.

My family of six just returned from a wonderful long weekend at Fox Ridge. The home and grounds are exactly as listed and probably exceeded our expectations. Our group ranged in age from 27-64, and unanimously voted it as one of our best family vacations ever. Highlights include our dog jumping joyously into the pond for a swim, kayaking, s’mores around the fire pit and morning coffee in the deck. We hope to all return next summer!

Our family enjoyed our stay in this airy, spacious home. The views are lovely and it was nice having our own private pond for the week. It's truly secluded, which means the internet/Wi-Fi can be spotty at times (pro tip: keep your phone in Wi-Fi calling mode for more reliable texting) but outages didn't last for too long at a time. There is a single a/c unit high up on a wall in the great room which does a decent job of keeping that floor (mostly) cool, but the large windows, doors and skylights let the sun in, so on hot, humid, sunny days the cool air doesn't really reach the upper bedrooms. There are a lot of portable and ceiling fans available which help somewhat. Be careful with the sliding doors, though - opening them (especially the screens) can be tricky and the glass ones can lock themselves when closed. My (adult) granddaughter closed the second floor sliding glass door when she went on the balcony and locked herself out of the house. She was unable to reach me due to poor cell service and was stranded there until I happened to go outside. The sliding doors in the kitchen and the first floor bedroom can also be inadvertently locked.

Such a lovely escape to Fox Ridge. We enjoyed the peaceful mornings waking up to the misty mountains and pond and the evenings in the hot tub listening to the sounds of bullfrogs and crickets. Hosts were very helpful with communication and recommendations. This was our first VRBO and it went seamlessly. We hope to come back - many thanks!

The daily city life can really take a toll on you, the constant noise, rush and lack of nature makes you not pay attention to the little things that we should all appreciate and be grateful for. This house highlights those “little things”. Upon arrival we instantly fell in love with this place. The location of the house, the open space, the view, the pond and the peaceful sounds of nature will make you feel like you’re in a fairytale. The house itself feels like a home, it is very welcoming and cozy. The pool table is perfect for some night time fun, we had a few intense games which were followed by unwinding in the hot tub. Our 2 year old golden retriever had the time of his life here, he was able to get ALL of his energy out by running around, fetching and swimming. I am very happy that I found this place as it is a gem. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is overdue for a vacation. We will most definitely be coming back!!!

This short retreat from NYC was well worth it. Beautiful inside and out. Plenty to do in and around the house. No need to leave but if you needed more, everything is a short driving distance away. The home owner is attentive, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be back.

A terrific Catskills getaway for us! The house had everything we needed and more. Chilling out at night watching movies or playing pool. In the hot tub after hiking was so nice! The view while relaxing on the giant deck was amazing.

Perfect location for a private Catskills getaway experience with easy access town and restaurants. The house is cozy and well maintained. The backyard offers beautiful scenic mountain views and a large yard. Would definitely recommend!

This is our second year vacationing at Fox Ridge. My husband and I brought our mother, brother, and sister-in-law to celebrate our mom's birthday. We had an amazing weekend at Fox Ridge. As always the house was impeccably clean, well-stocked, and so comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time sitting on the back deck and watching television and talking in the bright cozy living room. The house is decorated beautifully and you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Thank you for sharing your home with us again. We hope to return again next year!
