This cabin did not disappoint. If a completely peaceful and scenic out of the way getaway is what you are after then this is the place. There is no wifi and only regular TV so you have no choice but to unwind and finish your book or drop a line in the water and absorb a spectacular sunrise. It was EXACTLY what I wanted. Plenty of very hot water. A big tv with plenty of dvds. And a porch swing to die for. I hope to return as soon as possible.

My husband and I stayed here over a weekend. It was so much fun! We fished and had a great time. No complaints from us! Exactly what we needed!

Quiet, private & peaceful!

The cabin was great as always. We enjoy the secluded nature of the property itself. The fishing was not as good as other trips we have made to this lake, but it has been a long hot summer with no rain and the lake was 5-6 feet lower than normal. We still caught fish! We will be back!

Utterly Amazing! My Boyfriend and I will definitely be back! The view is breathtaking! The fishing is awesome!

Our overall stay was lovely. However, the property was quite dirty, there were no signs marking the driveway as the directions had stated, and the sheets/blankets had spiders in them and did not appear to have been washed in quite a while. As someone who grew up on a farm in the country, I am accustomed to insects and the dirt that can come into a building from living in the country. But, as a guest staying in a cabin for a retreat, I would appreciate a cleaner space. Nevertheless, this will not keep me from booking the cabin again or recommending it to friends because it was a lovely location and a calming retreat.

Cabin was cozy and the view was great from the back porch. If you like catching quality size bass this is your honey hole. The only sounds you will hear is nature.

Simple and relaxing! Not sure which is better…the fishing or the sunrises!! We’ve been several times, and thoroughly enjoy every time!!

It was nice to unplug & be away for a while! Just bear in mind, if you have small children, there is zero internet, zero cell service, & the DVD player works maybe 50% of the time. This was especially hard at night, but we were able to keep busy enough during the day. Also, be sure to bring bug spray. We killed several huge spiders up by where the children slept in the loft area, and 2 wasps. This is in the woods, so that’s to be expected. I would def go back again with just my husband.

As great as the location was, there were quite a few issues inside that made it less than enjoyable. There was long dark hair in the shower, the toilet lid did not fit the bowl and slid easily when used…it also ran every time it was flushed. The hand soap at the bathroom sink was an old bottle of soft soap that had been filled up with water. The shower curtain had a bit of mildew stain on the bottom. There was no light bulb in one bedside lamp and the other didn’t work(owner was notified and brought bulbs for us. the stove and oven didn’t work at all and no toaster even to make toast. The fire pit down by the lake had a bunch of trash in it and had 2 really old crappy folding chairs on the dock. I felt as though someone just went in and put fresh towels in the bathroom and left. The bathroom towels were the nicest thing in the whole place.

My family and I had a blast what time we were there! We had a family emergency so we didn’t get fish like we wanted but everything was wonderful and we will be back!

The cabin is in a beautiful, quiet location and was just what we needed to get away for a while and relax! It had all the amenities we needed and we enjoyed the lake tremendously. Plan to stay again!

Perfect secluded lakeside getaway. Love the cabin and love the location. Short drive to Lucedale which is great. This was our second stay here and we will be back!

Good fishing

This was our 3rd time staying here and we absolutely loved it! The lake and cabin are a great retreat for anyone looking for a place to spend some time with the great outdoors. As always, the fishing was the best part and we had a great time! We are already looking at the calendar to plan our 4th stay!

The deck overlooking the lake was great. We spent most of our time sitting and relaxing there. We had a great time paddling our canoe around the lake and seeing all the birds. The fishing was terrific and so much fun. The cabin was very rustic.

Great place just needs to clear out brush and few trees between cabin and lake

The property is exactly as stated in VRBO posting. We stayed for a week and the smell that everyone else has talked about came around twice but was gone within ten minutes. We enjoyed fishing off the bank at lake. Definitely a good place to get out away from everything. Nice and peaceful. Would definitely go back!

Very relaxing and beautiful

We have stayed here several times , we love this little cabin .. it is a place to unplug from the world .. it’s just what we needed , quite , my husband loves to fish & I like the sun .. there are never many other people fishing so it’s like your alone .. I love the private pier that goes with the cabin , for laying out ! We tried the fish house about 4 miles from the cabin & it’s excellent! Lucedale is a great place to visit , nice people ! Also love the fresh vegetables you can buy at Charlie’s !

Spent a couple nights at the cabin to just reorient my thoughts in the midst of chaos, and was exactly what I needed! I saw an Eagle, a coyote, and caught a bunch of bass! Everything was as described! Look forward to getting back there when I need another breather!

Its the 3 or 4 time iv stayed here. There is some great changes. Ac being the best!! The smell out side is very tuff when the wind blows but it is what it is. I came to fish so its all i needed. We caught a round 50 in a day and half. Couple 5 pounds plus. The only problem is no flag or marker for the drive. I missed it , not my first time there like i said. Great place to go. Hope to be back soon.

This was our second stay at the cabin and we loved it even more than the first time! We enjoyed ourselves tremendously! The cabin met our needs perfectly, but the real attraction is that view and the lake. We are already making plans for another visit.

It is a perfect get away from everything for a few days! Exactly what we needed!

Everything was just as listed. Cabin is the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 children. The only problem we had was not finding the driveway because there were no signs or reflectors, the owner said they had been blown down by a storm so hopefully those will be replaced soon. It was a bit of a hassle as we were pulling a boat with one truck and a SXS with another and had to turn those around several times on the narrow road while searching for the driveway. However After calling the host we were given good directions and found it right away. The fishing was good. We were very grateful for the owners allowing us to bring our SXS for getting to and from the lake and launch. The kids loved the board games and movies that were provided. Around the pier was a perfect spot for my 9 year to practice riding his kayak.

This tiny cabin could have used better lighting in the kitchen area and an additional wall shelf to hold foodstuffs, but overall, it was good for two adults. We enjoyed fishing on the dock (not much luck) and sitting on the deck watching the lakeview. Winding down and listening to the quiet were just what we needed. There were a few minor oversights that I privately discussed with the owner, and she assured me that as relatively new owners, they are working on getting everything addressed. Be aware that there are two large pole barns for storage of composted manure (for the produce farms?) within less than half a mile. When the wind is just right, you know you’re in the country!

The bed is a full size, very small & VERY uncomfortable & hard. It isn’t very well insulated you can feel the cool air coming through the cracks of the flooring. You also have to put a fan up pointed towards the ceiling to blow the heat down or it all goes to the loft & you will freeze. The window at the top of the arch where the loft is lights the entire cabin at sunrise. Beautiful but there’s will be little sleep. The neighboring fields give the constant smell of chicken fertilizer. The grill outside has seen it’s better days, the grating at the bottom has fell through so grilling is a no go. There’s also a neighboring meat pack again plant that gives off a foul odor. You can fish off of the dock at the bottom of the hill but the grass in the water makes it difficult. You have to pay an extra $50 per person to launch your boat and fish anywhere other than the dock which is not enclosed in the listing details. There is also a no refund policy. We couldn’t stand another night on the poor quality mattress & with everything else we decided to leave early & asked for a refund for the night we didn’t stay & were told no refunds because they could have solved the problems if given notice. I highly doubt a new mattress & new grill could have been brought in that time & I highly doubt there’s anything they could have done about the stench outside. It’s beautiful scenery but definitely low quality cabin. 10/10 would not recommend.

I stumbled upon this little place on VRBO and just needed a place of solitude for a few days. I wanted a place where I could hear nothing but my own thoughts! And this was the perfect place!!!

Check in was very easy once we found the driveway, there is no sign at the end of the driveway. We never had to reach out to the property manager. It was cozy, perfect for two people or a couple with slightly older kids (kids beds are up a ladder). Great view, lots of wildlife in the area.
