My family and I stayed here for a long weekend. Everyone loved the accommodations, comfortable beds, amazing kitchen, and amenities. Highly Recommend this stay. Cori was very helpful, responded quickly, and has thought about every detail in this house

The house was impeccably maintained both inside and out! Our friends and family were all super comfortable and enjoyed making use of the amenities. The house is also super dog friendly, including a fence around the property! The main downside was the bunk room didn't have its own shower, so if you have a lot of people staying in there, just make sure the other folks upstairs are prepared to share their ensuite bathrooms.

We loved everything about this property. Our only regret was not being able to have a few more days here! We were there for the eclipse and watched from the backyard. We gathered for meals at the dining table which held all of us perfectly. We prepared meals together in the beautiful lot hen with the top of the line appliances, gathered in the great room for family photos and discussed our memories. We travelled easily to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah Park and took in the beautiful mountain vistas. We highly recommend this property and hope to revisit on the future.

Super house for family celebration.

We had a great visit. The house is well stocked, very beautiful, and the property is amazing. Cori was easy to reach throughout our stay with the few questions that we had.

This property was booked as a hosting location for a group of women who met in high school and/or in college (we all turn 60 this year!). The house was perfect for the group, with beautiful interior and exterior spaces in which to gather. We utilized every amenity available to us!! Pool, hot tub, game room, kayaks and paddle board, and a lovely kitchen. Would recommend this property to a similar group, or to a family with kids. There are so many activities and lovely amenities! Thank you for a most memorable stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The house was first rate with all the amenities and we especially loved the pool and thankfully the weather worked for us. The house is also close to town and everything else we needed. We've already been recommending it to others!

Our extended family of 11 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue bird cabin. We spent most of our time in the pool and hot tub. We loved our mornings kayaking & fishing on Lake Pelham. The fire pit was a nice evening addition with lots of s’mores. The gourmet kitchen was spacious and well stocked. It had every appliance needed. The teens absolutely loved the basement gaming areas. The tweens absolutely loved the theater room and private bunk wing. It was a fantastic week. Thank you Cori for your hospitality and easy communication.

The house is amazing and has just about everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked. Tons of beach towels provides. The game room and dock kept the 8 kids very entertained. There are kayaks and a paddle board that are in great condition. We didn’t know it was a non swimming lake but the pool and hot tub were perfect. There is a basketball net on the side of the pool which was great. Food store is a half mile away and the town is a 7 minute drive. Tons of board games. We had to contact the host a few times and they got back to us immediately. We would definitely recommend this home. Our three families had an amazing week there.

We had an amazing stay at Cori and Ted’s place. The house was amazing and plenty of room for our 11 family members, spanning 3 generations. The house was incredibly clean and well stocked. The pool area was wonderful! We had a few maintenance type issues and the responses from Cori and Ted were incredibly quick and they solved the problems for us. We would definitely return for another week, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book if you’re looking at the listing!

Enjoyed the stay at Blue Bird Lakehouse. Kids loved the hot tub, pool and kayaks. Adults loved the privacy and peaceful surroundings. Weather not great several days so did local shopping, played in awesome game room and watched movies in the awesome theater room. Perfect for a family reunion, had a great time.

The property was beautiful, just as pictured. Amazing gourmet kitchen - we love to cook on vacation. Pool, hot tub and lake access all fabulous. Great communication with the owers. We had a perfect family vacation!

The house and property are well kept. The kitchen was well appointed. The games and activities kept the children occupied. The outdoor space was exceptional. The pool and lake activities were the highlight of our stay. The owner’s communication was exceptional. The directions were clear. The use of the appliances, TVs and equipment was easy (didn’t require extra instructions). We could not have asked for a better experience.

I knew there was something extra special about this listing the second I saw it and as most guests have said, it somehow manages to over deliver in person. The house is huge, but laid out with such thoughtful intention that it's still cozy. As adults, en suite bathrooms make trips 1000x better and we all loved having our own. Every kitchen cabinet and common area was outfitted with amenities/supplies most rentals do not include. The dishwasher was a powerhouse (coming from NYC this got me, lol) and made daily clean up a breeze. The bluetooth sound system/central acoustics were better than the speakers we brought. Pool and hot tub were perfect to dip back and forth from as the evening temperatures dropped at night. Downstairs game night went until 3am. I've never stayed in a place so designed to not need to leave! Quite literally our only complaint was wishing we had more time to utilize everything on the property. Worth every penny! A special thanks to Cori for answering all my questions along the way and triple checking in to make sure everything went smoothly. There's a reunion round 2 here with our names on it.

Spectacular, marvelous, astounding, remarkable, sublime, incredible. The pictures truly do not do this home justice! We spent most of our time in the backyard area. I mean, how could you not. Pool, hot tub, pergola w/comfy couches, corn hole, and Adirondack chair surrounded fire pit area. The pool’s lounge chairs were high end and the large outdoor Bluetooth speaker was definitely a bonus. I am not sure if the listing shows a picture of or mentions it, but there is an awesome enclosed outdoor shower. The teenagers in our group appreciated all of the activities in the basement game room and playing basketball in the large garage. Every family in our group said that they have never stayed in such a well-stocked/equipped rental. Literally everything you could possible think of is provided. Beach towels & tons of pool toys, plenty of dry firewood, kitchen appliances and gadgets— you name it. I will note that the walk down to the lake is very steep & contains roots and rocks. A couple of people in our group regularly went down in order to launch a paddleboard or kayak, but it was not like other lake homes that we have rented where the entire group could sit and lounge Lakeside. For a weekend and given the amazing backyard, this wasn’t a big problem for us, but I felt it was worth mentioning for other travelers. I HIGHLY recommend this home & wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

The home is beautiful, it was very clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. The location is beautiful. The lakeside view was really relaxing and the outdoor amenities (hot tub, pool, firepit, patio seating) were excellent. It was secluded, but also not way out there. All our family (adults and little kids) had a blast.

Cabin was very well appointed, very well kept. Had everything a guest could ask. Luxury on the Lake. Rained a few days but never missed a beat…even with 3 kids under two years old. Cabin was flush with indoor toys, puzzles, games, etc. Host was extremely professional and answered text messages usually within a couple minutes. Six star property. Top of the line appliances and furnishings. Pool, hot tub and fire pit are top shelf and very enjoyable. Can’t say enough about the professional host and the cabin! Family loved it. Even the 2 year old said, nice house!

We were a group of 11 with pups. We all agree the property was perfect for our gathering. There was plenty of space for privacy, small group discussions, full group conversations and gathering together for meals. Cori and Ted and built and furnished a comfortable, lovely home that is not cluttered and smartly designed. We may have started a tradition!

An amazing property! The setting was gorgeous and house was spectacular! Our host couldn’t have been nicer. The perfect spot for family time. We were in the area for a wedding and the fully stocked kitchen was a dream to cook in. All ages LOVED it. We will definitely be back! Thank you SO SO much!

The house was exactly as anticipated. The kitchen was well equipped, the furniture comfortable, and the house was spacious. The owners have just made major improvements to the exterior, but we were sadly there a little too soon to see it in its finished state. Cori was very responsive and friendly. A lovely stay.

We had a reunion of college friends with all of our families (I.e., young kids). We had an absolute blast at this house! The spacing of the rooms worked really well to spread kids out for various sleep schedules—the pictures don’t do it justice for how spacious and well laid out the house is. And all of the beds were super comfy. The house is so well stocked with everything we needed and could want. We swam, paddled, and kayaked in the lake. We went on walks through the neighborhood. We played soccer in the grass. We cooked some nights, ordered in other nights - the restaurants were delicious, and the kitchen is a dream. We drove a mile away to an amazing playground, ninja warrior set, park, and splash pad that kids of all ages loved! And the owners were SO friendly and nice! We all decided we want to come back here next summer!

When our normal summer in New England Week needed to relocate due to availability of rentals, we decided to buck tradition and head south. Due to the size of our group, plus dogs, we lucked out finding Blue Bird Cabin and booked immediately (as we were 60 days out we had to pay in full at booking). This year’s challenge was the addition of our puppy and Cori & Ted graciously accommodated our third puppy. If you have dogs, especially ones who love just basking in sunshine during an afternoon nap, this is your spot! We have more pics of the 3 doggos sleeping in the sun than anything else we photographed. Cori & Ted’s home is gorgeous - the listing didn’t quite do it justice as it was more than we expected. It’s the perfect combination of quaint log cabin with the decor of the rooms, but every modern want and need with an incredible kitchen, brand new appliances, and an easy electronic key system. We did have a few challenges with the Central AC unit as our stay was during an oppressive heatwave - sometimes the air just couldn’t keep up. The communication between Cori & me was timely, solution-focused, extremely friendly and empathetic, and aside from just pulling out a couple fans (provided in the bedroom closet upstairs) to supplement the AC, it was a tiny inconvenience that didn’t affect the enjoyment of our stay. Cori’s communication and assistance was the best of any homeowner I’ve rented from in many many years, and that alone (plus this amazing home!) would make me come back in an instant. Location-wise you’re near wineries, breweries, distilleries (almost all are dog friendly!), grocery stores, shopping, etc., and downtown Culpeper is adorable!! If you’re visiting in the summer and you’re not an east coaster, expect humidity. A lot of it. Due to that factor and the heatwave we didn’t do as many outdoor activities as we hoped. However our group has done fall rentals before and we decided this will be our fall spot so we can take advantage of the fireplace, fire pit, and all of the hiking the Shenandoah Valley can provide. Tips about the home: Bring popcorn kernels so you can take advantage of the popcorn maker in the theater room. If you’re serious puzzle people like we are, and you travel with a huge, fold-up puzzle board, the table in the puzzle room is a bit small for those big boards. Hot Tub in the evening at sunset. It’s beautiful. We can’t wait to stay at Blue Bird Cabin again!

We were so impressed with our weekend trip to this property. The house is spacious, clean, and offers a ton of really nice amenities. The Rokus on the TVs, extremally well-stocked kitchen, and game tables were all thoroughly appreciated. The house is in a great location because you feel quite secluded when you're on the property, but it's a short drive to a grocery store and shopping center if you need anything. I absolutely recommend staying here, every bit of the stay was perfect - the checkin process was simple, the owners were friendly and communicative.

This property exceeded expectations at every level. The location was perfect, the hosts communicate better than any other Vrbo host we have ever worked with (and that’s a lot), and the house had anything and everything you would hope for or need in that type of venue. The house and setting were simply stunning! We cannot recommend it more highly!

We rented this cabin to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday and it was perfect!! There were 9 adults, 1 child and our dog. We had plenty of space! The owners suite felt like a little log cabin of its own! This was such a luxurious retreat on 7 acres tucked away yet still so close to town! We had beautiful weather for our long weekend so spent most of our time outside. We had a fire in the pit every night after 4:00 and enjoyed watching the wildlife! (Deer, fox, squirrels) The hot tub was easy to use! Spa towels were provided for the hot tub and separate towels for showering. We really enjoyed using the Bluetooth in the main area to always have music on. We did a few puzzles and had a family bingo night. (Games provided) Some enjoyed the theatre room for late night movies. The kitchen was super high end and a pleasure to use! Cori and Ted were so kind and accommodating!. We’re so thankful for the kind of hosts you are!! Overall, an amazing trip where we created memories that will last us a lifetime!!

We stayed for 3 days and really enjoyed the home. Everything was clean and organized and we had a wonderful time.

Beautiful log cabin very clean and even a Christmas tree

WOW! We had the most incredible weekend Blue Bird Cabin. We were so impressed with the home - pure luxury, plenty of space for 10 adults and three babies, and an unbeatable location. In November, the fall foliage was picturesque from the giant living room windows and porches and there were plenty of fun activities to keep us busy and entertained. Amenities. We each had our own space and private bathroom, but we spent most of our time in the beautiful living room sitting around the fire and talking and listening to music. Our weekend was beautiful - we watched leaves fall and explored the yard, fire pit, lake and hot tub. The kitchen was fully stocked and organized, with top-end appliances and a massive fridge. The game room in the basement provided endless entertainment (ping pong, pool, air hockey, foosball and more), and the basketball court in the garage was another highlight. The house was absolutely beautiful and massive - we didn't even have a chance to experience some of the rooms and accommodations - there’s a movie theater area, a board game room, and a yoga room (with mats, and a Murphy bed) in the basement. We did yoga on the porch off the master bedroom. The closets and showers alone were impressive. There were also baskets of kids’ toys and other baby supplies. The wifi worked amazingly for those of us who had to work remotely, and there were Bluetooth speakers throughout the house and in the hot tub. Location. The house is hidden in a country club-like neighborhood, but as you get to the driveway, you realize you’re about to go off the beaten path into a completely different world. The house is a new build and totally private from the neighborhood, but only about a mile from the store if you need anything. It’s also only a short driving distance to wineries, breweries (we went to Old Trade Brewery which had chickens and jungle gyms and a bouncy house) and fun activities (there’s an escape room and climbing gym nearby), although we always wanted to come back to our "home away from home." Host. The hosts, Cori and Ted, are the absolute best. Super responsive, patient, and over the top helpful. Directions were provided for wifi and the smart technology throughout the house on laminated cards, making it easy for anyone to figure out how to operate. It was clear they put a lot of thought into the rental and did everything they could to ensure we loved our stay... and we sure did LOVE our stay. We cannot wait to book our next visit!
