I was very pleased with our stay the staff was friendly and the distance to the boardwalk was nice easily walkable even with kids. Will be making this my go to spot for Santa Cruz trips.

Only thing missing was a restaurant.

Great location by the beach. The room and bedding were clean. Breakfast was excellent.

I couldn’t connect to the internet to work. Wine advertised wasn’t in stock so had to buy a more expensive bottle. Fridge sound kept me up all night. Motion sensor light for room and bedside kept going off on its own. A/c turned off on it’s on throughout night before ever reaching desired temp. Food stain in elevator. $25 parking fee not advertised on Hotels.com Called front desk in am to report. Said manager would call me today. No call received.

So close to the boardwalk and the pier. Room was very nice and quiet with a nice view of the ocean.y GF made it down for breakfast and said it had plenty of choices. Will stay again if we are in the area

Everything was great and very excellent, except the coffee pot in the lobby was always empty, always!

Front desk was very nice. Hotel was right across the street from the boardwalk.

Nice clean room with lots of space. Beds were comfy enough. Hotel offers late check out. I went down the night before to request late checkout. Was told to call in the morning before 9am or request on the app. I used the app later that night. Then called before 9am to confirm. Was told I called too late and should have called earlier. Although, I had tried the night before. Would still stay again.

The hotel was very close to the boardwalk. Was probably about a 10 minute walk ! Hotel is very clean and convenient. I will definitely stay here again.

Great stay and overall great experience! Property and rooms super clean and in excellent shape. Very convenient location close to beach and oceanfront attractions. Only areas for improvement are fairly limited breakfast selection and a high daily parking fee charged by the hotel from guests.

Walking distance to pier

The property is nestled in a neighborhood. There is a secure underground parking structure. The rooms are clean and spacious. Great location. Short walk to the Wharf and able to reach the Boardwalk easily.

Stain on carpet, bathroom smelled not clean, room was ok but small and basic. Overall cleanliness was just ok. Parking is 30 dollars just to park in the hotel garage! Definitely not worth 600 for a one night stay on the weekend. Do not think I will revisit.

During check-in a father passing bye the front desk told the clerk that his son threw up in the swimming pool. The swimming pool was closed for about two hours for treatment. However, my daughter was so disgusted & had no desire to swim in pool even after the pool was cleaned. I requested a top floor room prior to arrival and received ground floor with kids running around for 2 hours at night and 2 hours in the morning in the room above us which made our stay less than peaceful. The room’s patio door was found to be unlocked. The parking garage has narrow parking spaces and the hotel charges $25 a night for guests to potentially have their car dinged by a careless driver or children. On the first morning we were woken up by a fire alarm going off at 6:20AM, with no explanation from staff; guests were not evacuated and fire department did not respond. A plus was the location, the hotel is in walking distance to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. My daughter enjoyed the breakfast that is provided from 6AM to 9AM. A large SUV parked so close to driver’s door of my car that I had to cross over the passenger’s seat to access driver’s seat. Anytime you ask to speak to a manager the front desk staff said the manager is not available. I requested to move rooms and was told only a manager can change the rooms, however, at checkout I was told that I could have just requested a room change. SMH. The front desk clerk did refund my two nights parking fee. We will not be returning to this hotel.

We had a fabulous time for our last trip of summer break. We had an awful situation with an airbnb which made us scramble to look for lodging that didn't break the bank. l found La Quinta and it was a total blessing. Everything about it was superior to the airbnb we left. The location, the quality and condition of the hotel, the morning breakfast, the common area to hang out, the pool and the rooms. We were so grateful they had availability. I will definitely stay here again when we return to Santa Cruz. Perfect place for families with kids and teens.

We had a great family trip. This hotel was clean, breakfast included was decent, check in & check out was quick & easy. Walking distance from hotel to Pier was great. Our kids didn't mind the walk to the Boardwalk & Beach. We didn't get a chance to play in the pool. Although we had to pay for parking, having our car in underground garage was easily accessible & because we were so close to everything, we didnt need to drive anywhere. I would definitely stay here again.

We got stuck in a corner room right across from the laundry room, which is loud. Also, at night we can hear snoring coming through the walls and footsteps upstairs. Overall place is nice and clean. and nice area.

We did not have a car during our trip and this hotel was so convenient to the pier and the boardwalk, we never felt like we needed a car. The hotel was clean and comfortable and we loved that breakfast was included. Ice water and coffee were always available. My son used the pool a few times so that was nice amenity. We also enjoyed takeout on the beautiful patio above the pool. Would definitely stay here again.

It was a great stay all around. The only critique I would add is that there was no parking available in the hotel garage, and I paid extra for that. A bit of an annoyance. Otherwise a really great stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was lovely and we were excited to be right next to the pool.

The location is nice and not a lot of noise which is great. Two big negatives were that when we turned the AC down, it kept automatically adjusting up after it turned on for a few minutes so it would constantly be hot in the room and due to the AC never really staying on, the room didn’t cool down. Secondly was parking, there was no parking in garage after we paid for it, although it was refunded by the gentleman who checked us in. Apparently the street around the corner doesn't slow parking after 9am without a parking pass, so we got a $58 parking ticket. Would’ve been nice if we were told that when I brought up to staff that I had to park on the street… otherwise, room was standard la Quinta quality with everything that’s mentioned.

People were helpful, my only complaint was the rooms don’t come with a table to drink coffee on. There’s plenty of room to place two chairs a a circular table.

The hotel was very nice, the room was clean and seemed like it had been updated recently. We had some noisy neighbors and the front desk called our room at 7a - and woke us up - to see if we were the ones making the noise. We weren’t but I then couldn’t get back to sleep.

Close to Santa Cruz you can park and just walk. Over , clean good for family’s
