If you travel to Palermo avoid this property! They will over charge you. Staff is rude, hotel is disgustingly dirty. Avoid them!! They love taking advantage of you!

This is a lovely hotel. The employees really care about the guests. I would recommend to anyone visiting Palermo.

Beautiful property, walkable to everything. Lovely breakfast, luxurious bath and meticulous housekeeping. Front desk went above and beyond to help with missing luggage.

Room was clean and a good size. On the down side, Very noisy. Not all but most staff would need a little refresher couse on being friendly. Breakfast was just ok.

We were very happy to stay at the Grande Hotel et Des Palmes. Walking through the front door you are transported to a by-gone era of elegant hotels visited by droves of people on the Grand Tour. While Palermo is on the outside rough and gritty, the Grande Hotel ed Des Palmes is refined and oh so hospitable. We were placed in a very beautiful suite that fronted the Via Roma, but the sounds of the street could not be heard within. Our suite featured a foyer, sitting room, bedroom, and extravagant bath -- one of the best showers we have ever encountered. The weather outside was sweltering, but inside we were as cool as cucumbers. Breakfast was in a grand covered courtyard, used in the evenings as a bar. The morning spread was extensive with pastries, cereals, breads, hott offerings, fresh juices and even granita! While the cappuccino wasn't the best, we did very much enjoy our stay and we will most definitely return.

Wonderful. Great beds and pillows. The best shower I have ever used. The staff was amazing - incredibly helpful, professional and welcoming. Would absolutely stay there again.

Excellent hotel for any amount of money, and certainly a bargain at the price we paid. We stayed two nights and it was well located and perfect. Breakfast was generous and tasty.

The hotel is beautiful however service is very bad . In addition I left a few items behind and reported them few hours later . Items were never recovered. Not a honest housekeeping Would not be back

Appropriately named, this grand old hotel is a treat to stay in.

This is a 5-star hotel, but for 2 reasons, it’s not operating at the 5-star level. To be fair, let me list the good things first. The physical plant is excellent. The room looks and feels brand new. Everything is top notch and works flawlessly. It is spacious, with high ceiling, and a very comfortable bed. The rest of the building is also in excellent condition, not to mention the gorgeous design. Now for the 2 flaws. The 1st problem is the location. It is a good location but to reach the historic center, there’s still a 15-20 minute walk through a busy part of town. Moreover, there isn’t a lot of space on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. For a hotel of this caliber, one expects a grand entrance of some sort. Not only is there no such thing, it’s almost dangerous right in front of the hotel. The narrow sidewalk is taken up by parked vehicles so that pedestrians essentially have to walk in the streets with cars and buses zipping by. This is not the hotel’s fault. It’s everywhere like this in Palermo, nonetheless, this is unexpected for such a high class establishment. Then there’s the service. It’s decent but spotty. Once at breakfast, I asked for tea. The 1st server completely forgot. The 2nd brought hot water but not the tea bags. I had to ask a third one. Eventually, the teabags were brought but no apology was offered. There is turn-down service but inexplicably, one my last evening, there was none. Someone did knock at my door to ask if the room was OK. Strange!

Beautiful hotel with helpful staff. Great breakfast. Rooms were very nice…but not fabulous. A good 4 star hotel…

Perfect location, easy walk to historic center (straight down Street) great bar (Locale) around corner, great local coffee shop around corner, very attentive service, beautiful breakfast layout and wonderful late night cocktails!

Fantastic hotel

This was a wonderful place to stay. First class service, wonderful and drinks, beautiful surrounding. Nothing was lacking.

This is one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed in. Our 2nd floor city view room was quite quiet even though it looked over a Sicilian street. The breakfast and breakfast room are extraordinary. Best of all, the concierge, Marina, did an amazing last minute job of rounding up a driver and guides for us in lieu of the driver whom we had booked from the States but who didn’t seem up to the job. We would happily stay here again.

Unfriendly welcome. Hotel in Service not up to 5 star level. Ignorant at breakfast. High ambition, low delivery. Overwhelmed and not preöofessional. Overpriced!

Everything was good, the one issue we had were the thin walls so you could hear the other guests around you and that our AC wasn’t working properly
