We had medical equipment we had to plug in. Just before we went to bed we discovered we didn’t have enough sockets next to the bed. We recieved no help from the desk person. We needed an extension cord or electrical strip. We finally had to move furniture and a lamp. Keeping in mind we are both over 70, this wasn’t easy. The room was clean and comfortable. We stay almost exclusively at La Quinta inn and suites. We’ve never had that happen any where else

Decided to celebrate my son’s Halloween birthday early and surprise him with a trip to LEGOLAND/ San Diego zoo, the price I paid for those 3 nights 4 days was incredible and the room service was amazing came back to find my sons room very cutely made and I wish I took pictures but he was so excited and jumped straight into bed, we can’t wait for our next trip here! Not to mention the complimentary breakfast they offer!

It was a clean, simple room with all you need for an overnight stay. There was highway noise as we were on the end near the freeway, but not too bad.

I was looking for a suite near Legoland- Carlsbad. I came across this property, I was excited due to the location, this particular room offered a separate space for my children with bunk beds, free parking & continental breakfast which were all perks. However the photos presented online were very misleading, in no way did they represent was is being advertised and what people are paying for. This room only offered non refundable bookings at the time which loops you into your stay. The room smelled damp, there were ants, suspicious stains on the ways, carpet was in frail condition. The room appears to lack any updated asthetics. I will not stay at this property again.

The washing machine was broken, no sign on it indicating it was broken when they knew it was.

The front desk attendant refused to check me out and give me a receipt at 10:50am today.
The washer did not drain my load and I had to hand squeeze my clothes which wasn’t fully successful because my clothes were only 70% dry after two paid dry cycles.

Stayed at the La Quinta for a weekend at Legoland. Comfort, cleanliness, and affordability were important and the La Quinta checked all of those boxes. Check in and check out were super quick and easy and the staff were helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was very good and definitely helped us fill up for busy days at Legoland. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

The room was wet and smells like wet sticky carpet!! Had to talked to fromt desk two days later!! Because we tough the was going to go away!! But got worse!! The manager gave us. New clean room. But the experience wasn’t that good.

Great place to stay for a family outing to Legoland. Family friendly & offered areas for outdoor eating, BBQ, pool and basketball. We would stay here again!

We stayed one night on a weekday and everything went very smoothly. The hotel lobby, kitchen, and public areas are all very clean as well as our room. The bathroom came stocked with Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion, really nice! Hot breakfast and really good coffee. Pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable. We would recommend and can’t wait to come back!

The checkin process was easy. Our air conditioner in our room didn’t work. They did provide us with a fan but claimed they couldn’t get us a different room because they were at capacity.

We had a few hiccups with our stay:
1) Key cards kept deactivating every time we left the room
2) I prepaid for my reservation but was charged for the room at check in.
When I went to the front desk and advised them of what was going on the staff were amazing and corrected each of the issues. Over all it was a great stay. The kids enjoyed the Breakfast and Pool. Room was nice. Loved that we had a fridge and microwave in the room.

Nice stat, but one of the bedside tables had candy and cookie wrappers in the drawer.
I had a window that a palm tree was touching, and a couple of ants were coming inside. Otherwise it was very good.

Good location yet very run down. Needs new carpets and bathrooms. Bed was very comfortable.

Breakfast not very good; the room my family and I stayed in smells dingy and moldy. Beds not comfortable. The room carpet smells bad. The bathroom door gets jammed from the inside. Very outdated room, needs to be refreshed and painted. The AC was so old and noisy, can’t sleep at night.
The staff were nice, towels clean, pets welcome and the hotel room/ stay was affordable. Other than these reasons, staying in this hotel is a hard pass.

I am shocked how dirty this hotel was . More like a motel, a lot mold in restroom area. I would never take my kids here again. Just shocked !

The hotel is in very poor condition, nothing like the photos. 0 stars for the owners, it smells very damp, the carpet and ceiling are in very bad condition. We had to keep the windows open because the smell is unbearable. 5 stars for those who clean the rooms. 5 stars for the ladies who prepared breakfast.

The property is clearly in decline as it is poorly maintained. Of lost concern during our visit was the fact that our room door was coming off the hinges and thus very difficult to open or close. After complaining (they had to know of this issue in advance), maintenance tightened the screws but they quickly pulled back out. Front desk staff needs a lesson on customer service, interactions with staff, including manager Wendy Ybarra, clearly gave me the feeling that I was keeping them from more important things and they were not interested in helping me. I don’t know if this is typical of La Quinta properties but I will steer clear of them in the future.

The property looked more like a motel than a hotel; and, the cheap indoor-outdoor carpet was so dirty the soles of my feet turned black from walking in the room. Really gross!

Terrible. Smelled like urine and smoke. Sofa bed was unusable- so thin. My son just slept on top. Hairs in all the “clean” sheets, alarm went off at 6 am when I didn’t even touch it, tv didn’t work. So horrible. Feel dirty.

The bunk beds weren’t made, so we had to make them ourselves. Front desk staff very clearly disliked their job and made no attempt to hide it. The rooms and facility are a little bit dirty and smelly. Convenient location for Legoland, but overall, don’t recommend.

Our phone kept ringing almost every hour! No one was even trying to reach us. We were just told to disconnect our phone. And there were ants all over the shower - even despite washing ourselves, we felt so dirty..

I liked that it was very conveniently located near Legoland which was the purpose of the visit. The pool area and breakfast were great as well. The room could use an update. The tub was rusted and worn. Also, the towels are not very absorbent and could also be upgraded. Other than that, we had a great time, bed was comfortable and room was a good size. Thanks!

It was an older facility. Rooms were old and outdated. Not what I was expecting after paying $300 a night. Staff was nice and the area was convenient. It was close to the beach and within distant to several resturants.

It wasn't the worst place I've been but it was not what I expected based on photos.
Perhaps it was our specific room but the major complaints of the room were incredibly low water pressure in the shower, limited temperature range, any noise outside could be clearly heard in the room. These general concerns made minor things like chipping paint, uneven floors, furniture not level causing the drawers to open on their own constantly really highlight the landlord special feel.
Overall it's not the worst, but I probably wouldn't go back with my family.

Im not the type to leave a bad review in general. But bav this was terrible.
Walking into the room there was a bad smell. We asked to change the room but they said they didn't have any other available. The noise of the freeway was coming through the old windows. The ventilation system in the bathroom was terrible, felt like a generator working.
In the middle of the night the TV got turned on by itself on max volume. Asking another guest if they enjoyed their stay, they nodded their head sideways saying you get what you pay for and that they experienced the same thing with the tv turning on on max volume in the middle of the night.
Had to go on reddit, and found out that it's been a common thing, many mentioning that the hotel is haunted. I don't recommend it at all. Spend $50 more and get a better hotel...
