Nice hotel

Very nice staff, clean accommodation, but the building dates back to 1980‘s and that is reflected throughout the building. It could be upgraded to modern standards!

Great views of the sea, the Ferris wheel and Kobe Tower. Right next door to Harborland malls for shopping and food. Ten minutes walk to JR and local lines. Staff is friendly and helpful and speak a bit of English.

The Okura Hotel in Kobe is a classic, high standard Hotel, very much liked for weddings and other celebrations. The hotel is conveniently located at Kobe harbor side next to Meriken Park for a stroll, about 15 min walking distance to Harbor Land (outstanding Shopping Center), and in 20 min walking distance to Sannomiya (more or less the center of Kobe). While the hotel is impeccable clean, it is by now becoming a little worn but the glory of past times can still be felt and the service is high standard. The breakfast buffet is delicious and I would recommend travelers to include within the hotel reservation. Only concern for international travelers: while the staff is able to answer common hotel booking related questions in English, more complex questions (e.g., bus services, railway services, etc) need time and patience… Under the bottom line, I will definitely book the Okura again on my next visit to Kobe.

We loved our stay here! Disappointed that the pool was only a lap pool that wasn't included in the cost; it is part of a health club and this should be made more clear on the website. Lovely staff, incredible rooms, amazing views, great breakfast buffet. My main reason for only giving it 4 stars is, for such lush and incredible rooms, the beds were hard as a rock (we booked 3 rooms, and all beds were the same). I would definitely stay here again despite the beds!

Washroom is not clean enough

Size of the room is good, can book the in-room massage. Good view and good service.

Hotel staff were very hospitable! Check in was simple and quick! They delivered my delivered luggage to the room ahead of time. The rooms are not up to date, but very clean and has all the amenities. Convenient location for points of interest near the waterfront but a 15 minute walk to Sannomiya. This was my second time in this hotel and I would stay again.

No safety box inside the hotel room. Very inconvenient.

The service was impeccable . Lovely spacious room with an incredible view onto the harbour. Easy acces to transport. Love it!!

Love the hotel beds and pillows. Room space was great. Given level 10 with moutain view. The hotel transport @ Sannomiya station was also rehular. Will revisit if i return to kobe. Lovely garden courtyard and near harbour for a lovely stroll in the evening.

Amazing hotel & excellent service including water front view from our room, free shuttle bus to Sannomiya station, even free use of laundry room. Would definitely return if visiting Kobe again.

Great hotel with spacious rooms and convenient parking lots. Porters/bellmen service need improvement though! Arrived in a car (I drove) at the porte cochère to drop our luggages off first, but there was no one there to assist, had to run into the lobby to look for a bellboy to assist, but still had to wait for a bit before a bellman came.

Nice quiet hotel with a great view of the harbor.

Very well kept classy older property. Can walk along the port. Spacious rooms. Wish the swimming pool is free but it belongs to a Sports Club on site. Charges 3300¥ for full day use of facilities.

Hotel Okura Kobe is our favorite hotel in this area. We have returned more times than I can remember. There is a gracious air to the service that makes the guest feel welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend this property!

Language barrier is a big problem

We had a sea view and it was amazing! However, compared to the other hotels that we stayed in-Asakusa and Kyoto-this hotel is the oldest- I not updated, the beds were like a brick and the hotel food was less than par and very overpriced. Would not stay there again.

The Kobe seems a bit of a hotel from another era, the economic bubble of the 1980s. It's huge and a little down-at-the-heels grand. Comfortable. Great breakfast. The biggest downside to this hotel is its location. It is separated from the main part of Kobe by two freeways and crossing, while not difficult, feels bleak. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Motomachi neighborhood, further to Sanomiya. There is a shuttle, but that's kind of a pain. If I had it to do again, I would stay someplace in Sanomiya even if the hotel itself was a little less nice. That said, the room was large, the staff were helpful, and, as I said, the breakfast was great. And we sure got our exercise walking back and forth to Motomachi station area where there are many restaurants and shops. So it's fine. I just value convenience over the rest.
