This is our 2nd time in this hotel and probably will be the last!!! Worst service ever! At the check out day they ask as to leave the pool since we "no longer have a room in the hotel" Worst experience ever

stunning gardens lovely staff great service

This place is impeccable from the service to the food to the historical relevance and decor. Youssef the concierge was professional and accommodating (and patient!) from the first email and Imad in the Courtyard restaurant was as well. The shops on site are top notch and oooohhh the food!!! This hotel exceeded our expectations. Not only were the facilities and room incredible, but the history and architecture added another dimension to the stay.

A unique property with local flair and an intriguing history. Our room was very well equipped and had a wonderful terrace overlooking a small garden of the hotel. The restaurant was wonderful, as was the bar. Well worth s stay.

Good hotel, with good service. Came across as 4.5 stars versus 5. The pool is lovely and the staff were friendly. Overall happy experience. Room felt a bit outdated.

This exceptional historical property definitely needs a facet in a bathroom and AC. But front desk manager Diana Aho was very helpful and professional.

Best place in East Jerusalem.

Very friendly staff. We arrived very early and very tired but we we’re allowed to check in early to an upgraded room. It was most appreciated. The hotel is lovely, would stay there again if we are ever back In Jerusalem.

Beautiful oasis in Jerusalem! We loved our stay here and will return. The grounds are lovely and a great change from the larger hotels. The cellar bar is charming, the many seating areas encourage you to linger and enjoy the beautiful place. Our room was very spacious and comfortable.

Mostly excellent, service very good but cheaper rooms are dated yet still expensive

This hotel is what it claims to be. Its gardens are beautiful, the buildings are historic and in excellent condition. The food is good and plentiful. We rented a suite, and the view from our suite was outstanding, as it was on the fourth (European 4th, American 5th) floor. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and otherwise unobtrusive.

Amazing- highly recommend this hotel!

The American Colony Hotel is a hidden gem in Jerusalem. I booked it based solely on positive reviews but it was so much more than that. First, it’s a historic hotel that still reflects the beauty and charm of when it was built. This was our first trip to Israel and we had no perspective on Jerusalem or what locations were both safe and convenient. Sited at the intersection of East and West Jerusalem, we loved the hotel’s location because it was easy to walk to sites in the old city of Jerusalem but it was outside of the noise and chaos of the most touristy areas. We stayed in a Pasha Deluxe room in the old hotel with a balcony overlooking the hotel’s beautiful pool and the view was lovely. Most importantly, the entire staff…from the front desk to the bell men, housekeeping staff, wait staff, and the concierge…were all focused on providing great service during our stay. I relied heavily on the concierge to arrange tours with private guides and transportation. The concierge staff was knowledgeable and responsive in answering questions quickly and in planning the excursions we wanted during our stay. Our guide for two days, Emil, was incredibly knowledgeable and professional as was our driver, Faisal. There is also a wonderful bookstore and antique and textile store on the hotel grounds if you have downtime for browsing. We are so happy we found The American Colony Hotel for our first stay in Jerusalem…we’ll definitely be back!

A green oasis at a top location in central Jerusalem. Walking distance from the old city. Been visiting before, and will surely return, as this is simply the best hotel in Jerusalem, all things considered. The personal service from staff at all levels makes you feel welcome, and if you have the right membership level you get upgrade and welcome gifts as well.

Facilities are bit old but well maintenanced. Great location close to old city and tram station. Good food in the restaurant. Definitely stay here again.
