The pool and hot tub were pristine and temperatures perfect. Rooms were clean as well as all areas of the hotel. Employees were helpful and pleasant.

Thanks to Aubrea, who originally checked us in, our stay was rescued from a potentially horrible stay. We booked a King room with a pull-out bed for our granddaughter. When we checked in, we were told the room didn't have a pull-out bed, so Aubrea helped us find a room with two double beds and a sofa bed. When we opened the sofa bed, the coils could be felt under the thin mattress so it wasn't fit for sleeping. We then asked for a roll-in single bed, which was available but again not fit for sleeping. Then we attempted to fold the sofa bed back into place, but it wouldn't fit or go back to its sofa state. But Aubrea was so kind and professional, and helped find us a family room that fit our needs. Aubrea is to be congratulated and rewarded for being a fine employee and ambassador for Aspen Hotels! She saved the day for us and our view of Aspen Hotels in Soldotna, Alaska.

Lovely hotel, right in town. Friendly staff. Area behind hotel to walk dog, kids, and enjoy the beautiful river and wildlife. We only stayed for one evening, but the beds were comfortable and rooms were clean.

Great location for exploring the peninsula on day trips. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores. Right by Kenai River.

Only two things i didnt like: no breakfast and elevator out of service.

The front desk won’t let us checks in early even though the room is paid for and the room is available. She said you can but the hotel will charge me for half day extra what’s unheard of.

I love staying at the aspen in Soldotna! Very clean and staff is super friendly.

Was super bummed the pool wasn’t open. Nothing on the website showed that it was closed. My kids were really disappointed when we checked in and they told us. Staff did a good job trying to find us a community pool but that’s not the same.

This is my 3rd review. We did not stay because Expedia said swimming pool and hot tub but they have been out of service for a long time. Expedia charged me $120 and then the hotel charged me $100 and then told me that I have to contact Expedia for a refund. We did not stay there nor did we ever make it to the room. We went elsewhere. I still have not been contacted back by Expedia like I said as told by them.

Great hotel

We chose this as our overnight location for an event happening in the area..... Unfortunately, so did all the high schools with their athletes for basketball. That said, the hotel was VERY loud until nearly 1am.... The staff wasn't interested in getting the noise level maintained as teens were running through the halls, screaming, yelling etc all evening. We called down and complained many times, we finally had to threaten to involve authorities for the staff to adequately attempt to manage the noise levels. The room next to us was VERY loud. The pool has the same signs it has had for a year stating the pool is "closed for maintenance" yet they advertise that the pool is open and told us when we booked the room that the pool was OPEN.... The beds are comfortable, the room was cold with the draft coming under the door so we had to put a blanket in front of the door to keep the cold air out... Room was clean as was the bathroom. All in all, I would rate this location a 3.

This property was centrally located for my needs during this time.

Our stay & the property were excellent. Only negative was that there was a group in the foyer, which has a tall ceiling & is open to the 2nd floor, & their noise that went on well into quiet hours echoed upstairs. It was quite loud & annoying. Everything about the hotel/staff was great! We’ll stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in January 2024. The heating unit just below the window either was not working properly or was not equipped for Alaska cold (double digits below zero then). It was blowing cold air out of one side and only mildly warm air out the other. We told the front desk about this and the person working just asked if we were using the heater correctly (we were). It was not until I responded to a customer survey after departure that anyone offered to have maintenance check it out. The bed was made with a sheet and light bedspread. It was not until we spent one cold night in the room that I learned from another guest that there was a blanket in a drawer beneath the microwave. The second evening, I asked the front desk if any extra blankets were available; she had one. This was all we needed, but having more than one extra blanket for winter guests seems important. Notably, some of the information on the hotel website is misleading. Specifically, there is no 24-hour front desk support, which the website as of today (January 31, 2024) says is available. The hotel "closes" at 11pm. There is a form on the front desk that states the hotel is a "limited-service" property and front desk, maintenance, security, and housekeeping may not be available. In short, you're on your own. This is what I might expect at a private rental, but not a hotel. That said, the property was clean and convenient, just not what I needed for a winter business trip.

Nice, clean newer hotel. On the basic side but what you would expect. No breakfast or housekeeping service for the two day stay.
