Hotel was a decent value and clean. No frills but a convenient location. Breakfast was included but we didn’t eat it so I can’t comment on that

The place is comfortable and conveniently located. Nothing fancy but it was quiet and clean. Stayed 3 nights with a pet.

The room was clean with no problems.

It was quite affordable compared to the rest of the area and had last minute availability. Staff were really nice on arrival. It is an older hotel, but is kept up well and clean. The only odd thing was an abandoned derelict truck parked in the customer lot. Gave a negative impression at first.

Rooms awr extremely outdated, ceiling looks like it is ready to collapse, walls are peeling from countertops, chairs are so wobbly couldn't sit in them...their breakfast was cold ceral and a milk jug in the lobby. Lady that checked us in was very nice. Motel "manager" waas extremely rude and confrontational, and basically yells at people.

Very old but clean property. Beds clean but uncomfortable. Not a great area to stay in, found out after arrival there is a lot of crime in the area. Had good onsite parking.

The place was very cozy and great for the price. The bed was comfy and the place was very clean. Kids staying in the hotel liked the pool. My only concern was that they had some weird rules about that only guests outside 20 miles of Rapid City could stay there. I wasn't sure if that was legal? It didn't impact our stay. We'd be happy to stay here again.

It was good with what ou pay for. The back parking lot was like an ally but usable.

Check in was very fast and staff was informative and friendly. This is an older property but it was well kept. The beds were comfortable, room was spacious.

Carpet extremely old and dirty. Microwave dirty. Blanket torn has hold in it. Toilet hard to flush. App won't let me upload pictures.

Their outdoor pool was really nice. Great temperature and very clean. The staff were not the friendliest though and a cleaning lady came in our room at like 8 and woke us up(that was awkward) I also forgot my phone charger there and called and asked if they could send it to me. They said they would check and get back to me and never did, very disappointing service there

Just decent. Outdated decor and AC barely works. Located in commerical district, right off the highway. We were also put in a room with a view of a brick wall.

Scheduling our stay (1 night) online, months in advance, seemed good at the time, except "having my credit card charged at the time of reservation", but, that didn't really present a problem at the time. When we checked in, ONLY THEN was I told about an additional $100 deposit, charged to my card, but that I'd get that back when we checked out. Not the case! When we turned in our keys, I asked for a printout to show my $100 credit on that "surprise" extra deposit. I was told $10 is deducted for a fee that she said was all on the webpage where I made the reservation. And, when I challenged this, she became quite unpleasant. Bottom line is, 'the world does NOT like "hidden fees", -myself included. --$10 does not make or break me, but, I'll share your poor business practice with everyone I know. Not a good plan to use on honest people.

A few things: the initial odor from the cleaning products is unpleasant; the way the beds are made requires you to practically unmake them to get to the top sheet and accompanying covers. There seems to be some confusion about payment. We were unable to get a receipt from the hotel as they claimed Hotels.com would send an email today (which we have not received-). Apparently there is a $10 service fee which the hotel tacks on because we used a third party booking agent. Also there was a $100 deposit required. As I am on a vacation staying in hotels with unsecured WiFi, I am unable to access my credit card company to check about these charges. Receiving a receipt at checkout would likely resolve this problem. And finally, when we arrived around 7 pm, there was a sign that said “Be back in 15 minutes.” 15 minutes from when? We, along with two other guests, waited 20 minutes with no sight of the receptionist. (We left to eat supper.). There was no one at the desk this morning as well although I saw one guest standing there hoping for help. The breakfast was a choice of 5 cereals and a few refrigerated items. No gluten-free options or fresh fruit.

Overall not a bad stay. Been on the road for a month and this is not the worst we have stayed at. The condition of the carpet in room 131 does need some attention and to be cleaned. Carpets are old. There was an area on wall behind head board of bed that needs to be painted as something either broke or was removed and the wall never fixed after. All appliances did work. It’s just the appearance is of a well worn older hotel. Having to ask for the breakfast sandwich at the check in desk was odd, but then theft may be an issue. If you use a third party to book you are charged a 10$ processing fee upon check out.

The carpet needs replacement or at least a through shampoo! Too many spots

The hotel was okay. The caret in the room was disgusting and we did not dare go without shoes. The free breakfast was cereal, toast and coffee. No juice or tea. The pool and pool area was nice. Location was convenient for us.

Loved the poolside room and easy access for the kids. Room was clean, front desk was courtesy. Would stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and even though it’s an older facility it was very comfortable and well takin care of.

This hotel has old fashioned charm when you walk in, having said that the sheets looked clean and the toilet and sink were clean, but the tub was old and calcium build up. The bedspread looked like it was never washed from the 1960's and the carpet was filthy. There were stains on the desk chair and when we checked out I told the receptionist about the stains and she said "Yes, we are well aware of that". She then said "Did you notify the front desk about it when you got here?" I said, "No, but I didn't notify them about the filthy bedspread or the filthy carpet either." She said okay, have a nice day and kept on washing the table in the lobby. I wanted a receipt for the stay but felt uncomfortable asking for one so we just left. One nice thing was the night before, we were given 2 bottles of water at no charge because they didn't have a place to buy water. This place has potential because of the wood work and ambiance but the rooms need deep cleaning for carpet and tub and desk chair, and a new bedspread.

Says pet friendly but when checked in said all pet rooms were full. AC in room did not work. Everything in hotel was extremely dated. Continental breakfast was crammed into the small front lobby, no choices besides cereal or a muffins

Was not happy with the extra charges. I was not aware of these charges when I booked my stay.

Our stay was fine! It's an older style hotel but the room was clean, the bed/pillows were comfortable, and the shower pressure and water were good! The air conditioner struggled to keep up in the 100 degree heat and we never tried the breakfast as we're not breakfast eaters. Our friends walked next door to the Perkins to eat breakfast. We never tried out the pool but it must have been good as there were plenty of people using it. If you are used to fancy expensive hotel rooms then I would not recommend staying here but if that's not the case then the Foothills Inn would be good for you. The staff was nice and the rooms were clean and the location is convenient. Thank you!
