Beautiful place inside/out with superb service

This resort is amazing! Rooms are huge with private pools. We stayed 6 nights and loved every minute of our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely book with Kupu Kupu again when I come back to visit!

A stunning hotel. We loved: the pool area, the rooms, the service by Andy and Wayan - these guys went the extra mile and were super friendly! The room we had came with a plunge pool and direct access to the beach. We stayed for my 40th birthday and when we arrive the room was decorated with balloons and a birthday cake - nice touch. What could have been better: the location is pretty limiting and when the weather is bad there isn’t really much to do. Some of the service was a little patchy at times, it felt like new people were being trained though. Overall; a great hotel largely due to the stunning room and beach access. One of my 5 favourite hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

This is a beautiful resort. The staff are wonderful, helpful, and friendly. The room was beautiful and the facilities (other than the dodgy wi-fi) were great. The only downfall for us was that the hotel presented itself as vegan friendly on the website (and we were asked regarding dietary requirements on arrival) but in practice the variety and quality of vegan food offered was basic, and other than great fruits and juices at breakfast, the meals were untempting and bland with unmarinated, soft tofu in most dishes, and no desserts other than fruit (we did check). This has certainly not been our experience in other hotels and resorts so was quite a disappointments. Nevertheless we found many amazing places serving great vegan food in the vicinity so this did not impact our stay too badly. When we did eat at the hotel the waiting staff were never less than warm and lovely. Overall, not our best experience of a resort or hotel in Thailand but still very good. The hotel does make a mistake in setting high expectations regarding its ability to provide for vegan guests.

The location and space are stunning but unfortunately are aging not very well....we came here in 2019 everything was pristine, we can see it is not been very well taken care of... service was pleasing and food very good! overall a bit too expensive for what it is, lacking modernity.

Dated and run-down resort. Looks like they have given up a bit. The hotel is very overpriced for what it is. The breakfast was incredibly basic and definitely way below what you would expect from a “five-star” hotel. We constantly had people in our villa, cause everything was broken and kept breaking down. No hot water, tv was on and off, phone not working and constant power outages.

I want to specially thank to Andy and Wayan and all the staff for their kindness, enjoyed our stay a lot.

Very nice boutique hotel. Great pool and wonderful view of the sea for amazing sunset. The sea view rooms need to be refreshed, but still have all the confort you need for a good night sleep. The staff is very attentive to your needs and the food is good but a bit pricy. There should be more lounge chairs by the pool.

Three nights in this hotel was one of the highlights of our 2.5 week thailand trip. Perfect, understated service - so relaxing and the most beautiful, peaceful hotel. Prices were not sky high, happy hour 241 cocktails 4-6pm, you could take back to your room. The place felt like a sanctuary and everyone seemed so chilled, even the staff. Well done Kupu Kupu

The landscape and the views are spectacular. Facilities were nice, the atmosphere is relaxing and unique.

Amazingly comfortable bed, huge room, avocado shaped bathtub. The view is stunning, location super convenient. Was romantic and blissful. If you rent motor scooter, you can get anywhere on the island fast, very central.

This hotel has one of the best beaches around! Very quiet, staff and service is great, in room dining is good, private and very beautiful. On the down side- bed is really uncomfortable. Breakfast is a little poor. Overall good experience!

My favorite place in Thailand , i have been there twice decently and it was always a nice experience

First things first, shortly after we were shown our room, we realized that the door to the villa (villa 29) did not even shut! There was a gaping large hole between the two sliding doors that shut such that bugs and hot air from outside could easily enter the villa. That being said, the room was full of flies and so hot that we could not sleep or even get dressed after our showers in our robes because we would be sweating profusely. Additionally, the air conditioning didn’t work at all. Not sure if this was the unit itself or the large hole in the door, but nonetheless, we barely slept because we were so hot. I mentioned these complaints at check out and they simply asked for my card without offering any apology or offer to compensate. Surely, for a 5 star, expensive resort, one would expect more both with respect to the quality of the facilities and the service. Lastly, there is no beach seating or chairs on this resort. The beach is extremely isolated and the hotel doesn’t make an effort to put chairs out for guests to enjoy the small beach that there is. Such a shame, given the beautiful location of this resort and therefore the potential it could have. Will not be returning.

Very comfortable stay, loved the area, Amsterdam bar opposite the road for sunset is a must. The view from the beach villa is nothing that I have seen before, I have never stayed so close to the sea before. Food is authentic but too expensive. Would recommend renting a bike and exploring the island. The hotel staff and very friendly and seem happy to work there which is important.

This place was amazing. I am sure there are more places nicer but out of my price range. We stayed in the seaside villa with a pool. It had everything and great sunset also. Will add that to my list of favorite place on this island.

The sea and beach weren't very clean unfortunately so if you are after the beach lifestyle this is probably not the best location. However there is a lovely pool in the garden and the private pools are also great! I would overall definitely recommend this place. A very romantic escape.

Really liked our room which was right on the beach. The sunsets were breathtaking.

Nice hotel.Beach isn't great, but it's OK. Couldn't relax by the pool as they let a large group play horrendous music really loud all morning whilst we were trying to get over our hangover.
