Very nice place with professional staff

It’s a boutique hotel so not expecting them to have everything a large hotel would have, but they charge you for room cleaning which I didn’t like.

Our stay has been excellent. We couldn’t sleep the night before in another hotel and we choose this hotel because of its position which is a bit outside the noise of the disco and bars. The staff was super nice and they put us in a very comfortable situation. Highly suggested if you want to stay out of the mess of Santa Marta!!

I LOVED my stay at El Cactus. The staff from every shift were very positive and attentive at all times. The property itself is gorgeous, the rooms are clean, and it is very peaceful. It is less than a 10-minute walk from the center where the bars and restaurants are located.

The hotel is pretty and up to date, but it's the staff that are truly outstanding. Extremely helpful and courteous. Thank you guys. It seemed like most people had breakfast in their rooms, but take it on the upstairs terrace. Beautiful and peaceful way to start the day.

Don’t look anywhere else to stay in Santa marta! The staff here are wonderful. The place is a short walk ( 10 mins) to the hustle and bustle of the beach and the surrounding area. The hotel is quiet and safe! And for remote workers, the wifi is great!!! Both my partner and I were on video calls at the same time no issues at all. The breakfast is amazing and everyone is so nice and helpful. Also the water pressure is great and there’s actually really hot water. Beds are comfy and the hotel is spotless. Can’t wait to come back!! Thank you so much 😊

On the whole it was beautiful. Our only concern was getting hot water at the times we wanted to shower. The staff is aware and I believe they are undertaking effort to correct the problem. I think only our room was inconsistent.

Cactus has personal attention and care, Maria, Indira y Carlos take great care of their guests. The room is super spacious, beds are on the too firm side, walking distance to restaurants and centro. No parking and driving and finding parking are a challenge. Breakfast is superb, go hungry!

The service is the best, the room is spacious, comfortable and has good air conditioning. Breakfast is just in time, quality and good taste. Indira and María are excellent in everything they will make you feel at home.

Terrific in every way. The staff is above and beyond, always ready to help and always smiling. Very pleasant stay. Clean pools, great breakfasts and available self-serve laundry. Super recommended!

Awesome stay. We don’t often leave reviews but this hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are gigantic, well-decorated and have every amenity you could ask for. Impressive breakfast which we recommend having on the rooftop, next to the pool area. Stay here when you are in Santa Marta :)!

Best hotel in Santa Mara.

We have stayed there 3 times either before we went to Tayrona to camp or after. They will let you store bags if needed. They have the greatest staff. Honestly just the sweetest. The room are always very clean and get the suite. They are so large. It is SUPER quite. The pool and lounge upstairs is a nice add bonus. Lastly the breakfast. Yes I mention breakfast. So GOOD!.

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were huge and very very nice and maintained really well! The roof top pool and lounge area were great! The best part of the experience was the staff amazing. They were very accommodating, professional and knew so much about the area. The staff was literally the icing on the (well made) cake! Congrats to the staff!

This was my favorite place to stay of my 14 day travel true Colombia. The rooms are big and clean, breakfast was amazing, the staff super friendly and super helpful. The location was great, walking distance from all the good areas. I definitely recommend this place. The view at terrace is amazing.

We had a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel. The rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. The staff take care of numerous potted plants on the grounds and in the rooms that have terraces, adding a pleasant ambience. The staff were polite, attentive, and accommodating. We especially enjoyed the company of Shakira, the hotel's adopted cat. She joined us on our terrace and for afternoon naps in the living room area of our room. The pools are small, but clean and well-maintained. We stayed for a week in Santa Marta (a bit too long for what the city has to offer, but the accommodations made it comfortable). We used the kitchen and refrigerator, as well as the cooking supplies provided. If you're staying more than one day, I recommend upgrading to a suite with a terrace. We enjoyed having breakfast there and an evening aperitif. My only recommendations to improve the experience would be to paint/decorate the terrace walls with murals by a local artist; mount more towel racks or hooks in the bathroom; use dispensers in the shower for shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel to not create plastic waste with small toiletry bottles; and not change the towels daily, unless requested, to conserve water.
