There were 10 of us and we had an amazing time! The outdoor space was incredible (if only the weather had been better!). There was plenty of space inside as well. We mostly sat in the gorgeous sunroom. We will be back again for sure!!

We were a group of 6 adults and the River House was an excellent location for our work in New Glasgow. 15 minutes away it was nice to have a place to be removed and relaxed. Communication from host was top notch. We had some weather before our stay and it was communicated well. The long driveway hadn't been plowed and step cleared prior to our early evening arrival, but it was done within an hour of us arriving. Would highly recommend for a group. It is lovely in the winter and looks to be even more so in summer/fall season.

Great place for us... 3 families traveling together. Lots of space for all of us. And close to quaint villages with shopping and eateries.

Work team building get away!
The property is located along the river and feels so private. The sunroom by far was our favorite spot in the house. Just lovely. We sat there for hours sipping our coffee, chatting and watching the endless viewings of eagles overhead. Such a treat for my team.

Great for a large group.
We stayed for a family gathering. There were 10 of us. Plenty of beds. Very well equipped kitchen to cook all our meals.
The home is modern, clean and bright.
Lovely view (even in winter). Enjoyed watching a pair of eagles building a nest.

We had a wonderful two night stay to celebrate New Year's Eve. The house is absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed. We enjoyed peaceful river views from the sunroom and fun family meals and games on the nice large table. You won't find a nicer place to stay in Pictou County.

Host was great. House was clean and cozy with everything you need. Beautiful view and close to all necessities if you forgot anything.

Well appointed home
Beautifully decorated, lots of space and a well stocked kitchen. What more could you ask? Ok, how about very private property with river frontage, gorgeous view off the large deck, gorgeous sunroom to keep away from the bugs, and plenty of towels and beds to go around. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks for an awesome rental!

Excellent property
This is a beautiful property in a great location. We stayed the weekend for my wife's 40th birthday with family and loved the experience. The communication with Valerie was always quick and friendly. Definitely recommend this spot!

Great weekend getaway!
We were looking for a spot to stay for the weekend as our wedding was postponed a year. Valeries spot was perfect! It had lots of space and so clean! We would come back again for sure!

Quiet and comfortable
We competed in a major curling event in the Pictou area and the River House was the perfect place to stay. It was clean, spacious, quiet and very comfortable. We highly recommend this place no matter the season!

Fantastic property
Rented this house to do some sightseeing in Nova Scotia. It is conveniently located and just a gem! Clean, modern and well appointed with all the conveniences you might need. 3 full bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms were a big selling point. The property owner was very kind and responsive when I had a question. I would highly recommend this property!

Cozy home, pretty setting
Great place for a quiet family vacation. I chose this property for its location and its amenities; both were quite satisfactory. Location: within driving distance to Cape Breton Island, Prince Edward Island, Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick, Halifax airport, and tourist places like Peggy’s Cove and Parrsboro. Also close to a small town for shopping and restaurants, in a very quiet neighborhood, with a water view. Amenities: House looks small but is well-designed so there is plenty of communal space but also 3 good-sized bedrooms for privacy. Very clean, newer construction, well-stocked, mechanicals worked well. Reason for 4-star rating: We were there during very wet and cold season and didn’t get to experience the huge deck, comfortable-looking sun porch, or large yard. Property owner responded in a timely manner to my emails/questions.

Lovely lake home
This home is in great shape and located in a very private, peaceful area on the river. You cannot beat the view from the deck. It is well equipped with kitchen equipment, linens and games. The only thing we found confusing was the air conditioner. It is located in the living room and we couldn’t figure out how to get it to the bedrooms. We used fans to try and pull the cool air back but it still got quite warm during the day.
The owner, Valerie, was easily accessible through text and responded quickly to any questions we had.
All in all, we had a lovely visit in Pictou and enjoyed the house immensely.

Amazing house in a fabulous position with great views.
Beautiful house in a fabulous position with great views and within a short distance from Pictou. . Big, light, airy and well equipped. Will be even more amazing once the works to the garden are completed. Overall, we loved our stay here, only wish it could have been longer.

Clean, Cozy & Very Comfortable
February in this Pictou County home was a great experience. We like to cook and the kitchen was well equipped and situated to allow the chef and 'audience' to be in close contact during food prep time. The beds were great. The living room contained ample comfy chairs for sit around chat time. We would like to return in the late fall or early spring, but we'd do it again in the winter if we had the chance. Valerie was very friendly and informative to respond to all of my pre arrival questions.

Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, sehr gemütlich und man hat alles, was man braucht. Alles ist sehr sauber und die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin klappte wunderbar. Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt und sehr empfehlenswert!

Awesome views, awesome location
Cannot, could Not, get over the view of the river. The property was fantastic, loved the screened in porch. Pictou is an area that is a must location for vacation. Must choose this house, perfect for family
