The hotel was very well kept, clean, comfortable, and offered and safe, friendly ambiance. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathrooms were nice. I will definitely come back next time I visit Bacalar.

Our two night stay in Bacalar at Casa Chukum was like a vacation within a vacation during our monthlong stay in the Yucatan. Bacalar’s Lagoon of (at least) Seven Colors – robin egg blue, azure, blue/gray, azul, turquoise, aquamarine, cobalt blue – is nothing less than magical and mystical. But Casa Chukum was pure delight. We were welcomed like family, placed in a spacious second floor room with balcony and stairway to the roof deck, king size bed, very nice bathroom – instant comfort. The breakfast offerings from constant coffee to fruit and juices and a fantastic menu of Mexican and American breakfast favorites was wonderful. The boat ride the staff arranged with Captain George on the good sailboat Harmony was a highlight. Three hours sailing the lagoon, visiting the cenotes feeding the lagoon, swimming in a couple different locations, getting to view a sunset – well, very special indeed. We look forward to a next and hopefully longer visit to Casa Chukum and Bacalar

My friend and I took a day trip to Bacalar. The concierge/front desk staff Aldair was extremely sweet, knowledgeable and helped us set up excursions and recommendations even though it was a shorter trip. The rooms were nice and recently renovated, the grounds were spotless and we felt safe and secure the entire stay. If you are going to Bacalar, Casa Chukum is the way to go. 5 stars all the way.

Amazing staff — so friendly and helpful. Beautifully modern decorated room (rain shower, big smart tv, power outlets and switches on both sides of a pillowed king bed). We can’t recommend this plaice highly enough. A true gem!!

Deborah was precious and one of the best hosts I have ever met. She genuinely loves what she's doing and goes over and beyond to help make the visit as positive as possible. Will definitely return to her hospitality as soon as possible. Did not want to leave

Absolutely loved our stay at Casa Chukum, this place made our trip to Bacalar. The staff could not do anymore for you, excellent service around the hotel and great recommendations! The place has such a lovely family feel with chilled vibes, loved the dogs and cats. The staff really went out of their way to add personal touches to our stay. Rooms are immaculate and well equipped, would also really recommend the breakfast. Thank you to Deborah and her team for such a wonderful experience! I hope that we will be able to visit again.

I found the entire staff was extremely friendly and genuine in wanting to insure I had a good experience, The biggest drawbacks for me was there was no on site parking. The hotel however was very clean and I felt relaxed and comfortable

Rooms are spotless and overlook the garden and pool. The hotel is within walking distance of everything Bacalar has to offer. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Only a good words! Excellent location, beautiful small oasis, good wi-fi and especially the staff! - Debbie, she is amazing, she helped us with everything (book a tours, recommend a restaurants,…) and she is really nice and polite and always looked on our wishes!

This place is really beautiful and relaxing to stay at. Close to everything. Debbie is super nice and extremely helpful booking our tours, taxis even our Covid test. I highly recommend this hotel. May be the only thing needs to be improve is the AC, it does get cold enough, but very minor issue. We will stay here again for sure!!

Loved the friendly staff, great breakfast and bar, and beautiful garden. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was modern. Walking distance to restaurants and easy street parking.

Just book it, don't think twice. Fantastic Boutique Hotel very well designed, super clean and superfast wifi. Safe place 2 minutes walk from the lake and restaurants. Friendly staff and very helpful in suggesting tours and sightseeing.

We loved our stay at Casa Chukum! The owners are lovely and have rescued two beautiful cats that they found, one was found with a broken leg and one tiny kitten was found searching desperately for food. They have a lovely home now and are adored! The hotel is very clean and new. The breakfasts are fresh and delicious. The location is great for exploring the town and close to restaurants as well as the lagoon. Parking is plentiful too. Go give those kitties, Chukum and Sombra a cuddle for me!

Pretty nice location in Bacalar. Walking distance to a very nice beach bar and to the town center. Staff was INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY and helpful. The room was spotless and brand new. We enjoyed our stay very much.
