This was a very pleasant stay!

Towels like sandpaper, sheets were badly worn. There isn’t a restaurant and the man at the front desk couldn’t have been bothered by us. We left a day early without a refund. It was like paying to not have to stay.

Hotel was very lovely . About a mile or so from all the restaurants. Barcalar is a beautiful city however there are lot of homeless dogs in the area . So lots of barking but that’s not the hotels fault . I can sleep thur it but just want to make people aware . They cleaned our room everyday which we where not expecting but it was great . Had a balcony which was nice when it rained we could outside and enjoyed a drink . Would definitely recommend for a budget friendly stay .

The people there will bend backwards for you. It's NOT a super hoity toity place, but they do charge in the higher end.

La Galuna has been a good choice for us in Bacalar. There is good value in the price for nice room, nice pool, very polite staff and good breakfast. Location was also good, but still not in the city center. Parking places are monitored by camera,

Rooms are clean and nice, in hotel amenities it is great with the exception of a restaurant as the bar only serves breakfast so we were on our own for dinner, It’s a nice property.

Nice Hotel. Large Room but showing it's age. Noise at night in the hallway and a crying baby above us one night. Location is good. Not on the water but close to Dock, Places to Eat and a nice 15 minute walk to the Centro.

We do not understand how this hotel has such a good reviews… We’ve stayed here for 2 nights and were glad we didn’t have to stay any longer. This is not a 4star hotel not even a 3 star. What was wrong: - the room smelled so bad our clothes smelled of moist. - the shower smelled so bad you felt disgusting after showering - the towels were stained - the bed sheets were stained - the noise level was sooo loud. Music and noise from the kitchen from 6:30 am until 11 pm. You can hear everything even someone plugging in their charger or whatsoever in the room next to you. - breakfast is basic but good. It looks good on pictures but that is really it. If you can stay away I would do it.

The pool has little divisions so that people can have areas to hangout.. overall a very good hotel, i guess one negative would be that the walls are a little thin, so you hear the pool music all day which can be fine if you are a teenager but not so much if you flew across the world to relax.

Amazing experience from the service to the room itself and to the proximity of how close the location is to restaurants and lagoon. Would definitely stay again!

Its a very nice hotel better than I expected. The pool is bit small but nice. Nice bar near the pool.

The hotel looks pretty good, it seems they invested a lot in the design. It was practical and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, they have eggs, pancakes and a special every day. It was a little far to walk to the main square where a los of restaurantes are located. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the staff having morning chats(around 7:30 am) right outside the room. You could hear everything, they didn't try to keep it down.

It’s has to be one of the best hotels we found in the area. The staff is amazing. Place is clean and beautiful. Friendly guests. Small breakfast area everyone gets to know each other there. Great simple breakfast. Definitely the place to stay for the price in Bacalar!
