Very friendly, reception staff where lovely.

The Hotel is situated on the promenade front with the car park behind it accessed through a narrow back street. In order to gain entry to the free parking you do require a pass-code for the barrier so will need to go in the front door first to get it from reception. The spacious room was quite noisy in the evening with loud music coming in from I think next door but turning up the sound on the T.V. soon drowned that out....I did love the comfortable arm-chairs in the room.

Great location on the beach front, we had a family suite, the 2 rooms were not completely separate. Bathroom was rather basic. But overall a nice and clean hotel.

Outstanding hotel

The esplanade is undergoing a further improvement. The reception and public areas have been updated and are excellent and I understand that the rooms are gradually being updated, although saying that the rooms are already reasonable and well equipped. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel could not be bettered, being on the seafront and just minutes away from the pier. Car parking is quite limited and is on a first come first served basis so I would recommend parking up and leaving the car there for the duration of your stay. I stayed on a room only basis so could not comment on the food.

The bedroom should not be let part decorated , no blind up-to shower room window also in both rooms a block of wood holding the sash windows open . Bedroom window sill rubbed down but not painted . Would not not go here again over priced room only .

The rooms unfortunately, although clean don't reflect the modern decor of the foyer and restaurant, they're quite dated. The rooms are small but comfortable. The pillows could do with renewing. Lots of stairs even though there is a lift you are still required to climb a few stairs which was difficult for my mother in law.

Limited parking but you can park overnight on a nearby street with parking for 90 minutes between 9:00 and 17:00. But leave before 10:30! Restaurant is expensive but the quality is good and the staff excellent.

The on site parking was a big bonus, friendly helpful staff, and clean hotel throughout.

Nothing to fault, really lovely place to stay, all staff were helpful, nothing too much trouble, will definitely stay again.

just modernised staff helpful, good amazing. only one problem we had a wheelchair and had to enter and exit from the back as they haven't put a ramp at the front. i really think they need to add one

I think Expedia’s review of 9.2 was slightly exaggerated. I would have given the hotel 7.5-8. The outside looks presentable, as does your first impression of the reception, and dining/bar area but once in the corridors, the property looks tired. The bedroom was disappointing. The carpet either needed cleaning or replacing. The furniture was very basic and abit dated. We got the impression, judging by the lack of architrave on some of the doors, that repairs were being carried out. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was reasonable, and the staff were pleasant and efficient, but the hotel needs updating

Staff were great and friendly. There’s ongoing renovations but no disturbance. The bed was ok and room an ok size & clean. The downside is that the room was 25C at 0800 when it was 11C outside. It was unbearable to sleep in; window open, curtains open, fan on - nothing helped. Relying on 3 hours sleep spoiled the trip somewhat. Also the breakfast was an additional £15pp per day on top of the £278 cost of 2 nights. We stayed here 2 years ago but we wouldn’t stay again.

Great location with great view of the bay and easily walkable to tourists spots and restaurants bars. The hotel also has a newly refurbished good-looking restaurant on the ground floor. Only thing is the lightings in our room are a bit dim.

The staff were so helpful, they upgraded us to a family room with a sea view instead of having to stay in two doubles with our young boys. We were very grateful and although the hotel was currently being refurbished, our stay was great.

The staff were amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful and the room was lovely. My only notes really was that it was advertised that there was no parking or food available due to some renovations (which are going to be brilliant when complete) but I feel the extent of the work has been downplayed a little with the whole front of the property being under renovation works. Other than that it's wonderful and can't wait to see it when we inevitably return for another lovely stay.

In view of the building work difficult to assess

Room was beautiful and everything was excellent quality. The bar/restaurant lacked any atmosphere though, no-one in there. There was no recognition of Christmas at the hotel, not even a Christmas tree. This was a bit disappointing given we have come away for the weekend on a friends Christmas break.

Our second stay here, lovely hotel in a great location. We shall be back next year

Friendly and welcoming staff and excellent location

We agreed would stay here again, we must add that the receptionist on duty in the morning went above and beyond to ensure we could enjoy a breakfast as did the staff in the dining area.

Fabulous location within walking distance to restaurants, pubs, amusements, shops, Pier etc. Has its own bar for drinks where you can relax following a lovely long walk on the promenade. Overlooks the sea and has a small private car park. We couldn't fault it and will definitely be back.

We booked a standard family room with rear view, however, thankfully they gave us sea view room

Clean well presented property in an ideal location close to all main amenities enjoyed my stay.
