We had a great stay at this property. The house was gorgeous & all the trim & doors were hand carved! We loved that there were enough bedrooms for each couple to have their own room/bathroom. The house was right on the beach and we were lucky enough to even see turtles nesting 1 night! We spend most of our time in the pool & loved that is was huge! We would recommend this place to anybody wanting a great vacation!

The description of this property is a lie. The kitchen includes a a very old gas stove that has to be lit with a lighter, 2 disgusting dishwashers that clearly haven't been used for years, mold in the freezer, rotting wood, and broken faucets. The cold water dispenser is broken, bring ice. No fountains work. The house has a missing fan, hanging electrical wires, and substantial water damage. Bidets are non functional. Microwave and mini fridges are very old and need to be replaced. The road is not maintained and it is VERY rough. There are only 2 sleeping areas in the main house, the other 3 bedrooms are outside in totally separate buildings. Do not travel here with children. Our child cut her hand on a broken shower handle. The outdoor chess set in the pictures is overgrown and rotted. There are no hammocks. The linens, including towels, and sheets are old, stained and torn ( they replaced some while we were there). There is no exercise room. There are big spiders in the kitchen and lizards in the outside bedrooms.We didn't mind them, but you might The two beds in the main house have EXTRA firm mattresses on them. The downstairs master bedroom sliding door is totally broken and doesn't appear to open. The beach is full of seaweed and was never cleared during our stay. The owner was a nightmare,. He first blamed his wife for the false listing (mine said it included a FT cook, housekeeper and 2 butlers), then he blamed VRBO, then he blamed the last tenant for the damage. He fixed a few things the first day and then sent me a message to stop complaining and take a "long stroll on the beach" The staff that we did have, including Aida the housekeeper and Nico the repair/pool guy and a chef who Aida arranged to cook for us one night, did the best they could and we appreciate all they did for us. We tipped them generously. If you are expecting a luxury experience in this price range, you will not find it here. Here are the things that worked - AC in the bedrooms, the pool is nice, the view is nice, water is nice once you get past the seaweed. Staff are great but you need to speak Spanish (Aida speaks some English). The owner offered me $1000 to cancel VRBO and pay him directly. That is probably why there are so few recent reviews. I have real photos of the house and I will post them. I have asked for a partial refund, and I sure hope VRBO will help me get it My price included Betty the full time cook who quit years ago!

Gorgeous property with everything we needed and excellent staff onsite to help

My husband and I got married in Playa in January and had the pleasure of staying at Casa Del Mar Bonito for our wedding weekend. We had a total of 8 adults that comfortably stayed in the gorgeous villa and definitely could have accommodated a few more. Inside and out, this is a gorgeous property and communication with the owners and property manager was seamless. We were able to host a "rehearsal dinner" with about 25 people and there was more than enough space for our loved ones and chefs and servers. Everyone raved about the villa and the staff made our stay so comfortable. We didn't have to worry about anything while we were there which made what could've been a stressful weekend so much more relaxing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We stayed at Casa Del Mar Bonito from 3/5/20 to 3/9/20 and had a wonderful time. We had 10 adults in their 30s and 40s. The airport was relatively close by and arranging transport not difficult. Property is amazing with a beachfront cleared daily. We had quite a bit of wind during the weekend so it was great to hide out in the pool when it got to be too extreme to be on the beach. The gardening and flowers all over the pool area and overlooking deck were a very nice touch. Interior decor was quite interesting. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. AC worked well. The staff were great and with 10 people eating and drinking it was extremely nice to have the staff clean up dishes each morning. We hired Chef Alex for catering and he is HIGHLY recommended - great food and we are admittedly snobs for that sort of thing (our group is from NYC, SF, and DC.) For shopping we had two people with rental cars and markets are not too far away. Only slight complaints: 1 we had some issue with water pressure and the toilets. 2 some appliances and elements were a little rough around the edges but nothing major. Hosts were always available to answer any questions.

9 individuals/3 generations, all w/extensive global travel experience, stayed here late Dec 2019. We have done this sort of thing before in other places (Grand Cayman, OBX in NC) and of the various experiences we've had, this was by far the best. The house itself is very nice, plenty of space, nicely decorated, amazing tile work (mosaic tile work of the sort you just don't see in private residences) w/lots of rooms and privacy but also a nice common space for everyone to hang out. It is right on the beach as the photos show and it's hard to overstate how nice and private the beach space is. No one else but you will be on the beach in front of the house, so you don't have to have someone out there early to claim your patch of sand for the day. It's all yours whenever you want it & the built in shade of the covered hammock platform and the permanent thatched structures on the right mean never having to hassle with dragging out chairs and setting up umbrellas and the like. What really makes this place special. however, is Betty and her teammates who keep the place running like a well oiled machine. Betty is a tireless presence who will make sure you never have to do dishes, or wipe down a counter or do anything but enjoy your time. I do a lot of dishes at home and part of the idea of a vacation for me is to get away from daily chores - Betty makes that possible. The owners were lovely to work with, very very responsive to any questions both before and during our stay and they couldn't have done anything better or different as far as we were concerned. Top notch all around. But to really make this a vacation of a lifetime, I can't recommend enough engaging the services of Chef Alex. He and his partner Nancy cooked dinner for us each of the 7 nights and also did spot grocery shopping when we began to run low on items. Alex has worked in Michelin starred restaurants in the US and it shows both in the creativity of the meals as well as the quality of the presentation. It was like fine dining every night but at the kitchen table and sometimes while still in a swimsuit. We all live in a major US cities w/numerous award winning restaurants and so we have a pretty good sense of what is a fancy meal. These were fantastic meals. And bonus was that the leftovers became lunch the next day. Between his cooking and Betty's assistance, as well as the amazing location of the property, this is one of the few trips that we will actually repeat!

The house was amazing. The description does not do justice to how lovely the home is. It was like being in a movie. We were amazed when we walked in, we kept discovering new things in each room. The artwork, furnishings, detail in tilework, kitchen, pool, bathrooms and beach all exceeded our expectations. There were 6 of us staying at the house and it could have accommodated many more of us. The bedrooms were all separated, so there was privacy for each person. If there were several families there would have been plenty of privacy for all. The people taking care of the house were kind and unobtrusive, the beach had some seaweed but they attempted to get it all out of the way each morning. Communication with the owners before our stay was very good. they were very helpful. We utilized the chef service, it was a real treat to have someone come in and make meals. The food and service was outstanding. The same people came each day, they were very nice and made some special requests for us. They brought whatever groceries that we requested as well. Most days we relaxed in the house and at the beach. We took a few excursions on different days with a company (My Quest Concierge). We went to several cenotes, used jetskis and went to an underground river to snorkel. Very highly recommended, it was good to break up the week a bit. Overall, it was a truly special place to visit and spend time. Every single person in the family enjoyed it and can't wait to return.

This is a nice house. It's a little tired and looks like it's been used as a rental for quite a while. But it had pretty much everything we needed. The pool was good, and away from the wind, which blew most of the time. We had a family of 6 for six nights. The house could take 4 or 5 couples for a serious party, and is more or less indestructible. We used the chef services. The food was excellent, although after a while everything tasted very similar. It would be good to have more variety in sauces and modes of preparation. Maybe we didn't order the right things. Puerto Del Carmen is a typical small Mexican city, worthy of an afternoon visit. We scuba dove and snorkeled the cenote called Dos Ojos. Crowded with murky water. The other cenotes may be better. The beach at the house is good for kids and adults. Warm water, and they clean up the seaweed. All in all we had a good time.

We loved our week at Casa Del Mar Bonito! We have vacationed many times between Cancún and Playa del Carmen and this was by far the most beautiful stretch of beach we have ever experienced! The house was spacious and suited our needs perfectly. I would have rated this 5 stars except the kitchen needs some updating . Some of the appliances did not work properly which made meal preparation challenging. But overall a wonderful experience! We would love to come again!

We had a wonderful week! The house staff was very attentive and helpful in every way. We had Chef Daveed cook our meals which I would highly recommend. Overall, would definitely go back.

We have rented houses up and down the Maya Riviera over the years, and by far, Casa Del Mar Bonito is simply the best. The property has its own private beach with palapas and crystal clear sea. The back area, has a heated pool with its own garden private area for evening relaxation. The rooms are ample with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The master bedroom has an incredible view of the beach. The staff is very friendly and at your service all the time. We would definitely come back and rent the place on our next trip to Maya Rivera!

This house is simple amazing in every aspect. The location can not be beat with its beautiful ocean just out your front door to swim or use the boogie boards and kayak provided. The owner was incredibly accommodating. He called me from Ecuador when I was working out a personal issue I was having with my Military guests who were traveling with me. Betty the main house maid/cook was a gem. She and her team were there everyday to clean, do dishes, cook, answer questions, etc. She even shopped for us. I could not say enough about this very beautiful property and the amenities it offers. Definitely worth the rental. Definitely would recommend. Even when we checked in for the first day the guard at the gate said Oh that house it is the nicest in the private gated community. All the homes were beautiful but this one was really the best!! Casa Del Mar Bonito sits on the best beach we have ever experienced in Mexico. As pristine as the Cancun beaches, but with a smaller surf which makes playing in the ocean perfect. The house is laid out well with privacy for all bedrooms - the master encompasses the entire second floor. Tile work throughout the house is magnificent. The pool is within a beautiful garden area at the front of the house rather than on the beach. We found this to be a really nice, quiet area to relax after getting so much sun in the ocean. And the tile work here is also great, especially the built-in tile loungers. The owners provide a ton of towels and kitchen dishes, etc. Even set out some "Off" bug lotion which we should have used before walking the beach at night. There's no such thing as perfection, though and there are a few items that one wishes could be improved. In this case, the house sits between a vacant lot and a boarded up structure that was either a house or a small hotel. The beach location has taken it's toll on some of the home's appliances and fixtures. And the staff of 4 is still being trained by the owner to provide guests with a first class experience. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return!

The house was beautiful and the beach was incredible. We were very impressed with Betty, (she is an amazing cook and house manager) and the rest of the staff were also excellent! Everything was top of the line, it was way more than we expected. One of the best vacations we have taken. We will definitely be going back and relax in this beautiful villa.

I hesitate to write such a great review about this house because I want it to be available whenever I want it... but... this place is fantastic. Beautiful home, great pool, amazing beach, and amazing staff. Betty runs the house during the day, and she is so helpful and an amazing cook! Suzanne is great with coordinating the trip and Ernesto, the owner, called us a few times to make sure we were doing ok. 1 million stars!

My family and I enjoyed fully this magnificent property for a week. The house was in excellent condition, the staff very efficient and everything worked out perfectly. Bedrooms and baths are ample and comfortable as well as the dining, kitchen and lounge areas. The pool is surrounded by nice palms and tropical trees with a gorgeous fountain. The pristine sandy beach, just steps away from the house is very safe for adults and children. If you wish to relax and enjoy a perfect and tranquil vacation, Casa del Mar Bonito is just the place you look for. We will surely return to this Caribbean paradise next year. We arrived there on July 1st to spend a week. Amazing house on a wonderful beach. Everything was fantastic we really enjoyed every corner of the house. Betty and her staff were very attentive, great hosts. Betty is a great cook!!! We very much enjoyed her ceviche and panuchos. The house has many spaces to spread out and relax: of course the beautiful white-sand beach, a wooden palapa with some hamacas to chill out, the pool with plenty of outdoor furniture, and several terraces and balconies. I cannot say enough good things about our experience at CMB and would recommend it to anyone who wants a fantastic and memorable vacation.

Casa Del Mar Bonito delivered an everything promised. Traveling with 10 total people and three different families is a challenge and this property is spacious enough to accommodate that type of group. We were able to enjoy the whole group when appropriate and then tuck away in our own different area of the property. Thanks for a great week in Mexico!

What is a person to say.... Casa del Mar Bonito is fabulous !! As a couple, we knew we had to get away for a week of sanity - and this was indeed the place to do it! How can you not love Enrique's beautiful home on the best beach on the Riviera Maya? Playa Secreto is a gorgeous beach that every resort within 100km would die for... The villa has hanging gardens around a secluded and gorgeous courtyard and pool, art work and finishings that are absolutely stunning... A staff that works tirelessly to ensure you are comfortable and happy in every way... If we could have figured out a way never to leave, we would have done it. Bety - our main contact at the house - was wonderful. She did everything we asked from pre-stocking the (incredible) bar and food fridges, giving us space when we needed it, to ensuring we had fresh towels and sheets every day. Honestly, at times we felt they were going overboard with the hospitality. Bety and her staff are awesome. Thank-you!! What can we say about the villa? It is EXACTLY as advertised - you can't go wrong here. It is perfect for a couple who needs some serious relaxation, to a group of eight wanting an amazing getaway - afterall it has 4 king beds and seven (yes - that's right...) bathrooms. And believe it... there is room and space for everyone. We almost didn't want to give a review... After all, we want it all for ourselves next time around! Thanks Enrique!

The place has a great location, less than half an hour drive from CanCun airport & nearby to many attractions of the region, few minutes drive to Puerto Morelos. Short drive from the airport and soon you are in your own private world in a splendid house right in front of a great beach for you to enjoy. We enjoyed the spacious house, the decoration, the swimming pool. its high end kitchen equipment & the crew who is attentive to assist in whatever you may need. The beach is great, a wide stretch of white thick sand, enjoyed long walks early morning staring to a peaceful & colorful sea. My family regretted very much leaving the place, the come back is a family most. Highly recommended.
