The most beautiful view out of the main room in all of Gettysburg! Our crew ranged from almost 13 to 81 years old. The pool was wonderful as well as the hot tub. We absolutely loved being able to see and interact with all of the sweet animals. Elizabeth was the most communicative host ever through VRBO and gave us privacy while ensuring everything was perfect. Thank you!

This property exceeded our family’s expectations in every way!!! The highlights included the beautiful indoor pool and the delightful animals who could not have been sweeter. The house was stocked with every convenience, and there were things for all ages to enjoy. The host and her son were friendly and accommodating and genuinely cared that we enjoyed our stay. We are already talking about booking again at this lovely property.

This house was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect setting for our yearly family vacation. We loved seeing the animals and the view at this house was breathtaking. Cant wait to visit again.

This property is AMAZING!! We went to be with family not to sit around and watch TV so this property was perfect for us because it had a ton of room in the house and outside was perfect for games with the kids. The pool top notch it had everything you needed from pool toys to Floats. And if you want to be inside it had a game room for adults and children to enjoy. The beds were very comfortable. The house came with everything we needed. But the best part was the property, the goats and chickens and cat they all just loved all over my grandchildren. We bought a few treats that were very reasonable so they could feed them. Overall, it was fantastic plenty of room. The host was very pleasant and it was just a very beautiful property. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get away with their family. And we also took a drive into Gettysburg. It only took about 12 minutes.

There are many great things about this property. However, the pool disappointed. Several parents in our group were reluctant to let their children in. You cannot see the bottom of the pool at all as the water is very cloudy. While it is in the country it was disturbing for a toddler to discover mouse droppings in the bed (we think from a blanket on the property). We had issues with the well (no water one morning), and the hot tub, but they were appropriately resolved. The kids liked the animals, but be aware that there are additional charges for the treats.

We had a wonderful time at the Big House! Our family was on a history tour of the Northeast and stopped for a restful weekend in Gettysburg. This beautiful home was just what we needed to rest and recharge. Our eleven year old daughter LOVED the animals, our teenagers enjoyed swimming and playing in the game room, and my husband and I enjoyed the gorgeous views and quiet after the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Elizabeth was an excellent hostess. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

The house exceeded our expectations great stay

This was our second stay at this property: we loved it so much the first time, we came back for another visit! Did not disappoint, better than we remembered! Elizabeth, the owner, very quickly responded when I had a question. We had some elderly relatives with us, and it worked very well for them. Hope to return for a third visit in the future!

From the Amazing house to the loving farm animals, there is so much to enjoy! The pool is amazing, as is the game room next to it. The sprawling space of the great room can accommodate pretty much anything you have going on, from large dinners to rambunctious game nights. The beds were all comfortable and we had no issues with appliances are all are newer. Internet and TV were both also great. We will definitely be considering coming back and checking out the farm in the warm months as well!

This was our 2nd time staying at the Big House at Apple Blossom Farm and this stay was even more wonderful than the first! The house is so incredibly comfortable and clean, with everything you could possibly need for a family or group getaway. Plenty of space for everyone, and plenty to do for adults, kids, and teens. The pool is phenomenal, the hot tub is luxurious, the scenery is beautifully serene. Meeting and feeding the farm animals is the absolute highlight! They are clearly well cared for, friendly, and gentle. The host and her son are thoroughly accessible, responsive, and helpful, yet give you complete privacy. We have nothing but positives to say about the entire experience and can’t wait to return!

Some things to note when booking:Carpets, although sanitized, were VERY stained everywhere, no odor, but visually unappealing.No cabinet or clean closet space left available to put food away. Home is in need of some basic upkeep and paint.As noted in several reviews 82 degrees for the pool and building heat was chilly, the signage advising that a request COULD be made to raise the temp, was uninviting (at best), describing that a 100.00 fee would be IMMEDIATELY incurred. For the number of times they have had this complaint, perhaps just raise it 2 degrees? House/ hot tub rules were also not phrased in a way that was conducive to promoting a positive guest experience.(very angry in tone) All in all, we had fun, just some feedback as to how our experience was diminished and why I did not give 5 star rating.

We have stayed at many vacation rental properties. This one is different. Country setting…quiet, serene…surrounded by nothing but beauty. The animals allow for an additional and deeper connection. This property is kept in very good condition and is very clean. The bedding smelled great! Amenities are abundant. The bonus is that you are only 15 minutes to downtown Gettysburg. Anything you need and great downtown shopping is very close. We loved this place!!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday at this rental property. The kids loved the indoor pool and the game room. They fed the animals right outside every day. The house was spacious and clean. Perfect for a mutilple family gathering. It was a dream vacation.

Overall it was a good stay. The animals were great and the farm hand even let us feed the birds, which the kids enjoyed. The pool, while 86 degrees, still felt a little chilly for our liking, but the kids enjoyed swimming and it was a nice feature to have on-site. There seemed to be a lot of stink bugs. I understand we are on a farm and this happens, but the lower level was covered - particularly in the pool area. Elizabeth was very communicative and answered questions throughout our stay, however they were not prepared for us when we arrived - some beds weren't made and laundry still out. She said there was a mix up in the new reservation system and it was only a few things, so we cleaned up and moved on. Nothing we couldn't handle, however one incident did put a damper on our last night there. One of the closets had rat poison in it just lying on the ground. The closet was unlocked and our friend's dog got in and ate the poison. Luckily the dog recovered, but definitely sullied the last night there. Wish those items were kept either in a locked closet or off the ground where animals and children could easily access them. But, again, overall it was a good stay in a good location. House was a good size and the amenities, property and animals were great.

Absolutely incredible property! Extremely peaceful but fun enough for a group of girls in their twenties to have a great time! ONLY downside was there were other properties close by that apparently made a ruckus and we were accused of making the noise which was not the case (owner was very apologetic though!) and we left an expensive cowboy hat behind and asked owner to mail back (offering to pay shipping) and was told yes but never received. Overall we had a fabulous time and 100% would be back again if we ever get the chance!

Everything was above our expectations. Convenience, live animals. Everything was perfect.

My wife, daughter and I had a great stay here at the end of Aug. Everything was as advertised, Elizabeth was great to deal with, and very fast to respond to our questions/needs. We had our dog with us and he enjoyed his stay just as much :). It's a short drive to Gettysburg downtown, the museum, and the battlefields and when we were just hanging around the house, there was so much to do with the pool, hot tub, game room, and visiting the animals…just a terrific week. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful vacation at Apple Blossom Farm! Family of all ages loved the animals and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy alone time as well as a number of things to do together. Elizabeth was super responsive and the property is quiet and beautiful. Definitely recommend it!

My family had a wonderful time enjoying themselves on this vacation. The home is very comfortable and lots of activities for both adults and children.My grandchildren especially loved all the treats they could use to feed the animals and enjoyed interacting with them. They even had to say goodbye to them when leaving and would miss them. The pool and hot tub were great. The owner was great at recommending Dobbin House restaurant for dinner and it was great. She has a binder with restaurants,breweries, and wineries near that make it easy . Thank you for all the little things you do to make a great vacation !

Wonderful location and great stay overall!

We had a great time. The house and property were beautiful and very well maintained. The animals were wonderful and very friendly. Bear-bear is a real feline ambassador of love and good will. We would certainly want to come back in the future.

My husband and I shared this lovely home with our daughters and their families. We all had a wonderful time. The kids, ages 7 to 16, all enjoyed the pool, game room and animals! The location is beautiful and peaceful.

Goats met us by the door was awesome. Loved all the animals. But they charge to feed them. They charge for the eggs in the fridge 10 dollar a dozen the grill heating element was rusted out. Did not work properly. No control of the air or pool heater. Pool was too cool for us. They had spices and all the dishes. The chairs at the kitchen table where uncomfortable. We got in at 3 but she told us we could not come until 4 and that was ok but then got there and we where told we couldn’t park on the asphalt it was new. So we made a decision to park in the grass. Master bedroom was freezing cold. Yes we adjusted the vent. In hind sight we should of called them with some of these complaints. Thank you

We had a great time in this home. It is more than spacious and offers many amenities. The indoor pool was a big hit with the kiddos, and the large dinning table provided our family the opportunity to gather. The farm animals were awesome; we loved the binder explaining each animal. Overall, a great experience.

We really did enjoy our stay. We enjoyed the pool, massive dining room table for our large family, the deck and the game room the most! It was very peaceful watching the horses run and play. The goats were very cute. The geese were a little intimidating and one did nip at the foot of a guest at the house. Did not draw any blood but we put a Band-Aid on her toe and some peroxide anyway. Aside from that, sitting by the fire at night and enjoying the stars was a lovely experience. Our family had a wonderful time.

The animals made this a very special place

Property was super cute, arriving and seeing all the animals come up was adorable. House was great, only had a few complaints. The pool liner and steps seemed stained which seemed as tho water had a discolor to it. We pulled the water out in a cup to look and seemed ok but some of our fussy kids wouldn’t get it. Also had to pay to heat the area/pool more. Just seemed a little impractical after already paying for hot tub. We always rent a large house in deep creek that holds around 20 and when you break it down, it’s even cheaper than this place. So it’s a tad on the expensive side and having to pay extra for other things is a bummer. Last but not least is there were so many rules, it made us a feel a little anxious. Like no dirtying the towels, why buy white towels? Also sometimes having a rental they will need replaced. No having the fireplace on for more than an hour. A fine will be imposed when pool isn’t covered. While I get rules are needed some just seemed excessive. Overall it was close for us and we enjoyed our stay. Suggest replacing light bulbs near dining area, half were out and our propane ran out also.

We had a great weekend at the Big House. As a larger group, we really appreciated being able to spread out in the expansive house. There were plenty of bedrooms for a group of 11 and we were all able to fit comfortably around the extra large dining room table for meals! The indoor pool and the game room were big hits and we had a great time seeing all the animals which were right there on the property. The house is located in a quiet and secluded area which was nice, yet it's close to anything you would want to do in the Gettysburg area. There's really something for everyone! We had a wonderful time at "The Big House" at Apple Blossom Farm. We loved the location and waking up to that view in the morning was incredible. The house was spacious, quiet,and comfortable. It provided everything we needed for a great weekend. Everyone enjoyed the pool, game room, and animals. We would definitely like to return!

We had a great experience. The animals are incredible, they’re very social and come right up to you. Elizabeth was quick to respond with any questions/request like more animal treats and firewood. Will be staying again.
