We had a great stay with Lia and Salvatore in their beautiful apartment in Siracusa. For anyone needing 2 separate beds...this is a great option. The bathroom is entered from the main living area, so no one is disturbed during the night. The neighborhood is quiet and convenient. Our hosts were helpful with advice and introducing us to a private driver for a day trip. We would stay here again and recommend to friends.

Lia and Salvatore have a very nice, roomy flat on a quiet courtyard. The apartment is huge by Italian standards - even a kitchen big enough for a table and equipped with all you would need to cook. Salvatore graciously arranged parking and met us so we could find it! The weather kept us from using the little balcony and table, but we otherwise really enjoyed our stay.

We would recommend this place. It was very comfortable, full of light, lots of storage, quiet and convenient location and the owners were very kind and helpful. Once we figured out the small, cobbled back passageways, we were able to walk anywhere on the island within 8 minutes. We loved our time in Ortigia!

We stayed at Lia and Salvatore's apartment for three nights in the middle of our 10 days in Sicily. It worked out very well as it is so comfortable and has a washing machine! The apartment is well equipped and is decorated with artistic flair. The location is excellent, the little grocery store (Gusto) a few steps away has everything you need and nearby Dada's Bistro is a super little spot. This is a great place to stay in a fascintating city.

I don’t want to recommend this apartment because I want to keep it for myself. But it was wonderful. Lia and Salvatore are most welcoming hosts who make you feel like you are a part of their family. Any questions or requests we had were answered immediately and graciously. If we return to Ortigia we will definitely hope to stay here. Grazie Mille.

Bright and spacious apt in a really old building surrounded by some run down and uninhabited Apt’s and buildings, but that’s the state of Ortygia. Very quiet, with an adequate but small balcony, functional kitchen and large living room. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. central location, minutes from all you need, including swimming beach and platform. The suggested parking was convenient but a bit hard for me and google maps to find, went in a circle til I got it right, but once there just left the car for three days and walked everywhere. Very pleasant three days, Ortygia is well worth a few days. Easy quick exit from the parking and island, once we figured things out. You likely will get lost walking, a maze of streets, but eventually you’ll find the waterfront and get oriented again.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 3-night stay in this terrific apartment in the heart of Ortigia. It was the conclusion of a 2wk trip to Sicily, and we're so glad to have found this place. All communications smooth and clear from start to finish. Lia and Salvatore were so helpful in booking us a parking spot in nearby garage (in advance, so that we would not be fined for driving into the historic center) - and the proprietors at the garage were very professional and friendly. We left our car for the 3 days with no worries, and enjoyed walking around Ortigia and into Sicracus (to the archeological park) . The apartment itself is lovely, the bed extremely comfortable. The small kitchen suited our needs perfectly, we made a few lunches there. The space itself is very clean, nicely decorated, and the hosts provide lots of information on what to see and do in Ortigia. We had a minor problem with the front door lock on our last day - but Lia arrived quickly to address it. Great hosts, beautiful apartment, absolutely gorgeous city. We hope to return some day and explore even more - thank you so much, Lia and Salvatore!

Situated in a quiet but central part of the island, we have had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment and strongly recommend it to other travellers. Our hosts were extremely kind picking us up at the bus station and making sure we understood all the features of the apartment and nearby services before they left us to settle in. The apartment is very spacious and light with a pleasant balcony and outlook onto a quiet courtyard, a very comfortable couch and bed, and a well equipped kitchen. There is also good air conditioning in both the bedroom and lounge and a fan for the second sleeping area. We would recommend the delicatessen Gusto at the end of the street where you can get groceries and also delicious Sicilian freshly precooked meals every day. One of the swimming platforms is five minutes walk away and we swam there nearly every morning. A very relaxing way to start the day. The owners were also very helpful in planning a driving tour of the Baroque towns and answering other minor questions. Ortigia is an excellent base to do many short day trips and we would happily recommend this apartment and the island to others. We would also like to stay in this apartment again if we were able to return one day.

My sister and I fell in love with this place!! We were running a little late, had cell phone issues, etc., but Salvatore was so great to work with. He met us at the garage where Lia had made us reservations (if you’re driving, do this!!) and walked us to the apartment. Salvatore showed us around and even made up the Murphy bed for me (I neglected to let them know that we wanted to use it). The apartment location is perfect - so close to the water, away from the hustle and bustle of the center of the island, down the street from a market and Dada’s (great spritzers) The apartment itself was all that we could ask for. Good kitchen, lounge area, terrace, etc. If I had any negative, it would be that I didn’t know where the trash cans were (we didn’t use the terrace because of mosquitoes) and I wasn’t able to get the trash out as described in the notebook. Overall, I highly recommend this location (unless I’m going to be around,- I want it for myself!) for anyone looking to spend time in Ortigia.

Everything about our rental with Lia was great. Communication was quick and clear. We were met at the Syarcusa station by Lia's husband, Salvatore, who was warm and welcoming, as was Lia who was waiting for us at the flat. We couldn't have asked for better. The flat is in the heart of Ortigia, but is extremely quiet. We heard almost nothing, and certainly no street noise at all. We slept very well. It's an attractive place, quite large, and comfortable, with all the comforts of home. There is a good size balcony, perfect for relaxing in the sun. The flat is close to everything. There are many many restaurants and archaeological sites, all within walking distance. The sea walk in peaceful and lovely. Sicily in January is a great idea. And Ortigia is truly a gem. Don't miss it. And if you do go, stay at Lia's House.

The property is large, light and well equipped, an oasis of quiet on the bustling peninsula of Ortigia, beautifully located in the heart of the historic centre of Siracusa. The proprietors are kind and helpful, came to meet us at the bus stop by car to take and our luggage to the apartment. They explained clearly how the apartment works, and were utterly discreet yet helpful. The size of the apartment, 95 square meters and the light flooding in through the large windows are a delight. The balcony is ideal for breakfast outside or a conversation at dusk. A parasole protected us from the relentless sun. We, a married couple, preserve the best possible memories of the apartment and warmly recommend it.

Lia and Salvatore were very helpful and welcoming. The apartment is in a very quiet spot overlooking a small courtyard. There is so much to see in Ortigia with its abundance of little streets. Such a pretty and beautifully historical place to visit . The Piazza del Duomo is quite amazing architecturally.

Great communication from the beginning; Prompt and clear. The owners met us at the parking garage nearby and walked us to the apartment for an overview. Very nice info booklet left behind. Perfect location close to everything in Ortigia. Appartement is clean. Includes wifi and a washing machine.. no dryer but clothes dry quickly in the Sicilian sun :) Highly recommended!

We spent a beautiful holiday in Ortigia (Siracusa), largely because of the right choice of the apartment. As you can see in the pictures the flat is fabolous and it has a very relaxing desing. It is in perfect condition and very clean. The living room is huge and has a quite confortable couch and armchair. It is located right in the city center, only a couple of minutes walk from the seafront and the monuments. It also only a throw stone away from a convenient supermarket, a grocery place and a butcher shop with Sicilian specialities and take away. The owners are lovely, the welcome they gave us was very warm and sincere. They gave us good advice about what to do and where to shop. Don’t miss the puppet theater, specially if you go with children! Thank you Lia and Salvatore.

Lovely apartment in a perfect location

We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and modernly furnished apartment. It is set in a peaceful side street/court yard in the heart of Ortigia. Both Lia and Salvatore provided good communication prior to and during our stay in particular helping with nearby car parking arrangements. This was pricey at 15 euros a day however it was convenient in terms of the location to the apartment and the owners provided a good service. A clean, spacious and tidy apartment which based on our stay we would highly recommend. Thanks to Lia and Salvatore. Nb: If you plan to visit mount Etna we would recommend you budget for the cable car/bus option as opposed to attempting to walk to the summit. This was priced at 65 euros pp which although expensive you soon realise is well worth it.

We were very pleased to stay in Lia and Salvatore’s bright, spacious and comfortable apartment. It is in the centre of Ortigia and very convenient for shops, restaurants and major attractions. Lia and Salvatore are excellent hosts, providing quick and helpful answers to all our questions as well as making arrangements for a late taxi pick up at Catania. My girlfriend and I stayed here in June. The apartment is clean, spacious and full of artsy details. Very comfortable for a couple. The location is great. Paid garage parking is available nearby and the host will arrange it for you.

We stayed ten days in this wonderful apartment, and loved every minute. The location, off a quiet side street in the centre of Ortigia, is ideal. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from Piazza Archimedes and connections to mainland Siracusa, lively commercial streets, the outdoor market, countless bars and restaurants, the sea wall, the legendary Piazza del Duomo and other historic sites and attractions of this enchanting island. The entrance is through an archway leading to a courtyard and up a stone staircase (inhabited by some very pretty, very shy cats). The apartment itself is amazingly spacious – you could waltz in the living room! It’s full of light and air, furnished with style and artistic flair. Everything was spotlessly clean. We used the heating unit a few times; it worked well. And the WiFi was excellent. The long wooden dining table became our go-to space for eating and spreading out maps, brochures etc. The kitchen, while compact, is well designed and well equipped, including basic condiments and cleaning supplies. Being vertically-challenged, the high, tiled counter/table top and bar stools were a stretch for me, but it all worked. A standout feature of the bright bathroom is the huge, double-door cabinet above the sink. Mirrored inside and out, it gives you lots of room to stow your gear (and a 180 degree view for styling your hair). The bedroom is intimate, quiet and very comfortable. Adjacent is a walk-in closet with several rails and a dresser - a luxurious amount of space to put your clothes. We grew quite fond of the little back balcony. It was the perfect place to have a morning coffee, an afternoon glass of wine, and oranges (oh, the Sicilian oranges!) anytime. Usually, the only sound was the murmur of mourning doves. Communications with our hosts before and during our stay were a pleasure. We appreciated being allowed to check in earlier and check out later than the official times. Lia and Salvatore welcomed us warmly on arrival, gave us a full tour of the space, answered all our questions, and explained the complexities of Ortigia’s recently-introduced recycling and garbage disposal schedules. They touched base midweek to ensure all was well, and when they came by to see us off at the end of our stay, it was like saying farewell to friends.

This apartment was just wonderful! It is tucked away in one of the back streets of Ortigia, but it is within easy walking distance of anything and everything. It was extremely quiet, even on the weekend. It is close to bakeries, restaurants, cafes, and loads of cute shops. We were so glad we opted to stay here. Rooms are bright, large, and cheerful. The kitchen and bathroom were both nicely outfitted. The bed is super comfy and the bedroom is like the other rooms -- bright and large. There is a huge walk in closet, as well as a dresser. Plenty of room to store your stuff. We had a car, but it mostly stayed in the garage -- no need to drive when we could get around quite easily on foot. Absolutely everything perfect about this stay!

In a really central spot, near the mercato, and a useful local small store. Spacious flat, not much outside but just enough space for two chairs in morning sun one side and early afternoon the other. Salvatore and Lia are just great, really lovely and very helpful. In February a number of restaurants are closed, but the market is great, the fish really spectacular (and the Sunday farmers market is good too, with excellent bread and cheese). Puppets begin in early March and are very good.

Bright, spacious, quiet and comfortable apartment in great location for exploring the beautiful island of Ortigia. Many bars, cafes, restaurants and shops within strolling distance. We also walked over the bridge to explore Syracuse on several occasions - no car necessary. Lia and Salvatore were very helpful and kind greeting us upon arrival and stopping by to say goodbye before we left. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone planning a visit to Ortigia.

Lia and Salvatore were very warm and welcoming- the apartment was perfect- clean, bright, airy and great to have the artwork on the walls. In a very quiet location so very peaceful in the apartment but right in the middle of beautiful Ortigia so easy to walk out and see the sights. Beautiful baroque Ortigia is amazing- is it possible to find a bad meal here? We ate far too much as it was all so tempting. A special shout out to the gelato shop just across the bridge. Ortigia is well placed if you have a car for exploring more of Sicily- so many wonderful sights - 10 days was only enough to scratch the surface! We chose to pay for very safe parking just round the corner from the apartment- very handy. Thank you Lia and Salvatore for helping to make this a brilliant holiday- we are sad to be saying goodbye. Pros: light and airy, two good sized bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, wonderful location. Cons: apartment is right over a night club. We were SO lucky it was closed for holidays while we were there (for five nights). Not sure we would have been able to stay if it had been open (they advertised from 7pm to 3 am).

Just spent 4 days in this lovely bright apartment. The location was ideal for exploring Ortigia and Syracuse. The apartment was as large as it looks in the pictures. It was well equipped and close to everything. The parking garage was a bit hard to find with our GPS however our gracious hosts were waiting for us nearby and pointed us in the right direction. Thanks so much.

We spent a very enjoyable three days in Ortigia. It was great to be able to have breakfast and lunch on the terrace, and use Lia's place as a base to explore Ortigia. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed in this apartment for eight days in early February. It kept all the promises that are made on the website: it is elegant (the art work is quite stunning), comfortable, flooded with light, has everything a traveller might need, and is wonderfully situated close to the Duomo, the Fontana Aretusa, the Lungomare, the Palazzo Bellomo, the Museo del Papiro, the Fontana di Diana, the market, and many more sights. Ortigia itself with its narrow streets, decorative balconies, and surprising palazzi is, of course, a sight in itself. It's only a few steps to the supermarket Gusto and to a whole array of restaurants, each serving delicious foods. -- The apartment itself is very generously supplied (there even was some glue!), is very clean, and two French doors admit a lot of light into the living room. Most impressive is the fact that one does not feel cramped in that generously large apartment; even the kitchen gives you enough elbow room to make more than just the coffee and boiled eggs to which we limited ourselves. -- Our hosts were most caring and gracious; they ensured that we were picked up at the bus terminal when we arrived and arranged a taxi for us when we left; and Salvatore came by on one day to see that everything was functioning well (it was); in between we were in touch by e-mail, which Lia always answered very quickly. We could not have asked for more. We most enthusiastically recommend this apartment and our hosts to anyone who wants to spend some time on Ortigia.

I really enjoyed this apartment. Stylish and roomy, lots of natural light, attractive furnishings and decorations. Everything I needed to live as a native was provided. I would rank it at the top of all the places I've rented in travels abroad.

The owners were so very helpful and very kind.the apartment was so bright and airy and has wonderful space. It is situated in a perfect location,close to all amenities and within a very short walk of the coast.what more could anyone want.we only eat in once, as restaurants so very tempting, but the kitchen was very well accessorised and cooking for several people would have been easy.
