I highly recommend staying here! The service was over the top amazing! The valet and bell services were impeccable! I am definitely staying here again!

Greatest place to stay if one is going to a performance at The Kennedy Center. Not only is it close, but it is a top notch hotel with a fantastic restaurant and a lovely view of the river.

I checked out earlier than my original reservation and was told to contact the hotel back for a refund for the rest of the nights. When I called, the hotel person said that they would ask their manager and get back to me by email. However, they never gotten back to me and have not been helpful when I tried to call them again. I have not heard anything directly from the hotel regarding my refund.

Asked when we’d be checking in a few days before, arrived when we said we would and at check in time and had to wait over an hour for our room. Beds were so far from the wall you lost your pillows because of the headboard gaps.

Great location

Understaffed spa and evening front desk employees led to late spa appointments and unfulfilled requests on multiple occasions. Stayed three nights and had to call all three days to have our room cleaned. Our shower drain was so slow that we would be wading in water within 1 minute. Our refrigerator leaked water. We notified management and nothing was done to correct any of the above issues. Finally, after returning late one evening and calling the front desk to deliver nespresso cups (not refilled because no one came to clean the room) and no one answering, we texted them to leave cup refills on a small plate outside the room and went to bed at 11:45pm. At 1:30am, someone knocked on the door, waking us, and then quickly entered the room!?! The individual left after we screamed. We were terrified in a pitch black room. Who does that?!? Insane. Management had little to say the next day and there was no follow up on what was done regarding corrective action. This is far from luxury. This is bad. Problems can happen, but when customers identify issues, ignoring and compounding their concerns is not a path to maintaining and building a reputation. There were nice touches. Chocolate covered strawberries and a hand written note upon check in (celebrating our 25th Anniversary, having celebrated our honeymoon at the Watergate). The view from the rooftop bar and the restaurant staff were “all star” level. But the failures above need to be addressed.

Great hotel except when dignitaries are visiting and they lockdown the place

The balcony suite was nice, although my room stunk like sweaty socks. Not sure what the deal was. It was also a 3rd floor room, so our view was obstructed. The service was wonderful, as was the food, drinks and rooftop bar. I would stay again, but never again splurge on a suite. Not worth the extra cost - and difficult to move to another suite if you’re not happy.

Stayed 5 days for a small group event. Staff are very kind, helpful and positive. Rooms were clean and they kept cleaning often. Very appreciated with everything!

Experience was peaceful, very pleasant overall. Only thing that annoyed me a bit was the failure to bring multiple things to my room upon front desk request. Asked for 3 toothbrushes they gave me 1, asked for a 3 extra pillows they gave me 1.

Very modern and clean ,always quiet, great pool and hot tub , allowed me to check in early . Only disappointed that Food and drinks a little over priced .

A good place to stay by the river.

We have been to the Watergate a number of times and love the place. The rooms are great, the bar is interesting, and the pool is nice. This time, however, things were a little different. The hotel had some sort of IT issue (never explained leaving guests wonder if they were being scraped as part of some sort of ransomware assault). The upshot was that for the first full day and night, we did not have a key and had to escorted to our room. Whatever the reason, this constraint had an impact on guests, and unfortunately. it also wore on the staff. It was still a reasonably good experience, and buoyed by previous visits rather than this one, we will return. The Watergate is an icon and definitely worth a trip.

Terrific as always !

Upon arriving our room was not ready until after 6pm. We were told we could wait on the roof top bar which is full sun. Once we were in the room we had issues with the bathroom shower flooding so we were moved. The next room had a non-functional air conditioning unit so we were moved again. We received a $150 credit for our troubles. One night the power for the whole hotel went out for 15 minutes. With uber the location is good. The entire front desk staff needs to be fired and start over. Hotel had a lot of potential but was really a hot mess. Valet staff were excellent!

Love the history of this property. Recently renovated- rooms are very comfortable. Service is stellar. Top of the Gate bar is cool and views are awesome!

I loved how the hotel rooms were modern yet simplistic. The concierge and his team did a great job at decorating the room for my boyfriend’s birthday!

Amazing stay! Very accommodating, clean, and nice. Staff were super friendly and helpful! It was our second time staying and we will definitely be back again.

The room that I was assigned was next to the elevator, and it was very loud at night time my wife could not sleep well.

The Watergate is a great property, you can tell it looks a little aged and in need of renovations. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

So so experience. Grumpy valet guys, standing water on my balcony for 2.5 days after the most recent rain, long wait to check in.

Only thing that sucked was in room coffee machine did not work correctly so we had to order a pot to room.

Staff was great nice rooms close to Georgetown
