NOT PET FRIENDLY. Have been coming every Thanksgiving weekend (exception 2020) for 10 years. We bring our 4.5 pound yorkie mix pup with us. She loves to sleep in the big hotel bed during the day while we go walking around and eat at our favorite places.
Upon check in - we were told that the new policy is that pets must be with their owners at all times.
The concierge told us that Savannah is dog friendly and most of the restaurants were dog friendly.
This was not the case at all,. Most of the restaurants allow service animals, but our pup is not a service animal.
Had we been made aware of this policy before we traveled to Savannah, we would have booked another hotel that would allow a 4.5 pound dog sleep in the room as she normally does.
Because of this updated policy we knew nothing of until check-in, we couldn't go to any of the places we normally go.
My husband and I love staying at the Hyatt on the River, but will not stay there moving forward. Our trip was ruined. So disappointing. Hotel should have a disclaimer by their Pet Friendly verbiage informing potential guests that pets must be with owner at all times with no exceptions. And the concierge needs to provide the realistic facts that there may be some pet friendly restaurants, but there are only 3 - 4 small tables in front of the restaurants so don't expect to get one of those tables on a busy weekend.

The hotel overall was very nice and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment was with the Pet Policy. The fee was not listed on Hotels.com and the company website was unclear. I think $150 for one night for a small, 8-pound, mature dog is a little steep. If I had known of this fee, I would have gone elsewhere.

We have stayed two nights in Hyatt Regency in Savannah.
Unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed with the hotel’s front desk customer service; chewing gum and with obesity clerk…
This is not a „presence”you expect in the four star hotel ….
Of course we did not expect to pay $75 nightly parking fee( $50 parking + $25 destination fee…) we did not move the vehicle during our stay..
In regards to room itself , we can not complain, however bathroom needs attention ; caulking around toilet in terrible, rust on the metal parts of the sink stand due to water splashing from the shower. The shower courtain too short and wrinkled !

My stay at the Hyatt Regency was amazing. Everything from check in, dining, service, to check out was a 5 star experience. The hotel is modern and accomodating. I also received an upgrade and enjoyed my fantastic room overlooking the River. Hyatt Regency is now my favorite hotel in Savannah. Thank you for your hospitality and great experience!

The hotel lobby was freezing. The parking situation was a surprise. The only way you could park in the garage is by valet, $50.00 a day! It was a shock". The parking situation is not good.

We love this hotel and stay here often. The staff is great and the property is very well cared for. We love the location. If were coming to Sav/Tybee we stay here and only here. The breakfast is worth it! The pool is kinda chilly and I wish they would heat it just a little more.

The lobby, lounge, restaurant, and rooms were clean and updated. Climate control was excellent. Bed was comfortable. The balcony was a nice touch. Nice to have a pet friendly hotel in the city.

This property is great. Very clean, great views and friendly. The only thing we would have changed is the AC in the room. We had a balcony on the 7th floor with river view. The room just didn't seem to get cool and the humidity seemed to stay in the room as well. We dropped the AC as low as it would go and we still felt hot. I am not sure if it was the placement of the unit in the room or just the environment of the south.

When I got to the Hyatt , there was no longer any parking at the property and no valet or any bus guy to help with the dolly . When you walk inside the property , the decor is very nice and you are stunned at first . When I went up to my room , I was in utter shock . I have stayed at the Hyatt in Florida and Atlanta and I never had a room that looked like I was in a motet 6. My room looked like it was renovated or patched together . The carpet didn’t look clean , the bathroom and room had an odd smell . The ceiling in the bathroom looked liked it had big holes and it was patched up . My daughters found a water bug in the corner of the room . I was so disgusted I wanted to leave , but I was so tired and I knew I wouldn’t get my money back so I stayed and checked out the next day . It was deplorable and I will never go there to stay again . I was actually on edge bc I didn’t feel like it was clean . I had to wipe down everything . They put me in the corner room at the end of the hall . Please take down the pictures on line they are deceiving , all of those rooms don’t look like the ones you’ll have on line . That’s called false representation . Please don’t stay there , go to the Westin across the river it’s 5 star and you’ll get incredible service and feel like you are getting you money worth !!!!

Room was not clean, paid extra for balcony, where where dredging was taking place directly in front of our balcony all day/night, so it was terribly loud. Seems like there should’ve been a warning about the noise upon booking, or check in, room was very dirty as well.

The welcome from the staff was wonderful, including the check-in cocktail & brief rundown of the amenities! The food, drinks, and service at the restaurant were so good we ate there twice out of the 5 meals we had during our stay. The room was perfectly balanced between cozy & spacious enough for two adults. On the drive home my wife & I raved to each other for at least 30 minutes & decided we will always stay at Hyatt Regency any time we come to Savannah again!
