We enjoyed our stay, the hotel is lovely and the staff on breakfast service were very accommodating. However, my husband had to go to reception on the first night because we spotted a dark patch through the duvet cover, on pulling the cover back there was a patch of blood bigger than my hand. The lady who came in to remove the duvet didn't apologise, she just looked embarrassed. I was uncomfortable after this and went and bought my own cover to sleep under. I know this can be seen as an over-reaction, but that's how I felt. I do have a photo, but I dont think it's family friendly. It is ashame because this is the first time in 10 years since we've been away for my birthday.

Bedroom looked a little shabby, wallpaper peeling off the walls, plug sockets not easily accessible.
Food was good, bar prices expensive, service a little slow but staff friendly.

Great facilities. Lovely welcome from reception staff. All staff very friendly. Good choice at breakfast (although a veggie sausage would be nice!) Lovely room. Clean. Great parking.

The lady at reception was lovely. My 5 year old daughter said she was like honey she was so nice! The room was a good size, ammenities are limited, basic tea and coffee. Dinner was nice but a tad pricey. My only complaints hotel related were that the TV in our room didn't work, it came on but was just constant static. The only other issue was noisy neighbours. Not the hotels fault but I don't think the hotel was full so not sure why they pack people in. They were pretty rowdy up until 10:30ish. People were also noisy, banging doors etc outside around 7 in the morning. Worth noting that if you're travelling with kids the pool is only available at certain times.

Very noisy wedding guests in corridor until early hours for two nights running. Nothing done about it after reporting the first night of un rest. Disappointed not to be refunded for my room upgrade. Won’t be going there again

Amazing building beautifully presented gardens and outdoor space. Family room was very spacious and clean.
Breakfast was great options for hot or cold food self served.

Our stay was very comfortable. Excellent service given to us. Caroline at the front desk was extremely helpful, polite.. she went above and beyond to answer our questions. My partner and I will definitely stay again. The facilities were very nice. Lots of character in the building itself and garden.. a luxury stay! Not really a negative point.. but maybe going forward there there could be more offers for key workers and nhs staff as the purpose of our-stay was related to work. Maybe also more offers with breakfast and food for people who are staying at the hotel. Kindest regards, Dr Bukhari.

Lovely stay, very welcoming and was delighted to discover we had been provided with an upgrade to a junior suite.
This is our second visit and sure we will return. We like Chester and this hotel is well located for the centre and shopping etc.

Not the best hotel to stay in, unprofessional at check in with manager discussing the electrics and, how much it will cost. Doesn't give the best impression.
Chose hotel as needed a break from city and wanted to sit on terrace to enjoy surroundings, ended up in the car park on some random tables due to two weddings having the terrace exclusive. It needs to be advertised on website before you get there not when you check in and, be told.
Last complain, the radiator kept making noises all night, considering its Summer, why ??
Wasn't a fan of Best Western before this stay but will be avoiding definitely in the future. Swimming, sauna and steam room small but at least it was the best thing about the stay.

A nice pleasant stay eith my two daughters to celebrate my birthday.
Very nice welcome from Reception staff.
Room was large and very comfortable.
We ate in the bar area, which was nice , a little expensive but was tasty.
Lovely poor area, the temperature of the pool was perfect.
Lovely location not too far from Cheshire Oaks.
I would return.

Chester city centre is five minutes drive away the zoo is around the same & Cheshire oaks retail park.

Room clean and tidy, sky light blind didn’t close so at 5:30am the daylight woke us up.
Also booked the hotel as part of a spa treatment, this got cancelled due to staff absence but they didn’t inform us until we had checked in and arrived at the spa. The only reason we chose the hotel was part of the spa deal so it was disappointing

Hotel and Spa were both lovely. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was ok, apart from the under cooked sausages and cold coffee.

Good stay, however the bathroom needed updated. Room wasn't vacuumed or checked properly before i checked in. Not great but the room was comfortable and spacious. The hotel is in a good location and easy to get to.

The restaurant and bar staff didn't seem to know what they were doing when I paid the bill for the evening meal They even asked when checking out the next morning could I pay my restaurant bill. ( Which I had to prove ) I will be getting in touch with Expedia to check if I booked breakfast which I had to pay for at check in.

It was a lovely overnight stay & the staff are fab. In the evening we decided to gave a meal in the rsstuarant. The staff were attentive, the food was excellent. Breakfast in the mirning had plenty of choice.
The only things that are letting this hotel down are that it is very tired & in need of redecoration throughout & maybe updating somewhat. The spa however, the changing room are a massive let down as there is only one cubilcle to get changed, if that is not available then you have to change in an open area. The door opening into the ladies changing room has a mirror directly infront, so if anyone passing while the door was open would be able to see women getting changed, again only to have onechanging cubicle is ridiculous.

The room had a lot of spiders (dead and alive as welll, and spider webs everywhere. Could you see them more properly when the lights were on and you saw them going from the lamps to the ceiling and between the desk and the wall.
When they cleaned the room they left stains on the sheets.
Breakfast was mediocre, there was no fresh vegetables and the only vegetables they did have were fried mushrooms or baked tomatoes

I stayed a couple of nights on business and the hotel was the perfect location. The room and bed were both large and comfortable and the pool and sauna facilities were great after a day's work. Although located not far from the main road, the hotel is quiet and secluded enabling a peaceful night's sleep as well as the possibility of working online in the room.

Appalling service. Check in was 3pm. Arrived around 4pm and the room wasn’t even ready. Huge queue at reception with no staff. No one knew what they were doing. Was told to just sit and wait for a room to become ready. Had one drink at the bar later in the evening. Even though it wasn’t remotely busy. Took them ten minutes to try and work the till and card machine to take payment. Then a further ten minutes to simply pour one pint and a Diet Coke. Shame because the hotel is quite nice and the gym/spa facilities are great. Staff are utterly useless.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night as part of a return journey following a vacation further north. The hotel location was perfect for our trip. The staff were friendly and did their best however were quite stretched due to a wedding function taking place over the weekend.at the hotel. The spa area was also quite busy.
The restaurant food and breakfast were good.

I had a problem with openong my door but the manager helped me get in. Could do with upgrading the locking systems but other than that the overall stay was great. The room was big and clean. The free use of gym, pool steam room and sauna was a great way of unwinding after a long day at work.

Stayed here a few times and the place just gets better and better.
Got a room upgrade during this stay which was very kind of the lovely lady at reception. Will definitely be staying again
