Awful

Our stay was great! Staff very friendly and accommodating. Price was great! Rooms are shabby but if you want a fancy motel you’re going to pay more. This was my 3rd time staying there and I will definitely go back again!

Holes in the ceiling

Biggest issue was the AC unit. It smelled like urine and was probably made in 1997. The whole place could use a makeover/update. The pool was an absolute disaster as well. Broken/missing tiles on pool perimeter and the water was very dirty. Otherwise, very clean room and close to beach access & amusement park. Invest in your property with basic updates and your guests won’t mind paying the rate you’re charging!

It was a perfect getaway

Room was not cleaned. Towels thrown on toilet, a bar of soap in the toilet. Ac was full of mildew, front desk was not helpful at all. There was no remote to watch the tv. Experience was terrible room was not clean

Average motel room. No glitz or glam. But we chose it for the prime location.

Great location. Nothing fancy but the location was great!

The Motel is Very rundown for starters. The blinds on the windows do nothing to shield the bright glaring lights outside the windows. The beds were old and lumpy, only one pillow per person. Given two towels and two tiny packets of shampoo for four people then told it would be a half hour until we could get two more towels to shower to get ready to go to dinner. The ice machine never had more than a cup of ice in it at any given time. There were hardly any outlets in the room we had to unplug things to plug our phone chargers in. The air conditioner barely works it felt damp and nasty in our room the entire stay. Dirty floors poor handyman work done in the rooms actually comical how bad the “repairs” are in these dated rooms. No blow drier no ironing board/iron in the room. Could actually see daylight from under the front door. Many reviews talked about the train loudness but an occasional train was the least of my worries with the amusement park in the front very loud. Its tempting to book for location to downtown but trust me Book a few blocks away at a nice place it’s worth walking a few blocks and avoiding this place it’s nasty.

Great service, clean room

The neighbours were so loud we had to call to make complaints twice. There was mold in the shower and stains in the beds that wasn’t ours. There is also a train passing 3-4 times during the night making the kitchen shake and will wake you up!

Ac vent was caked in dust. For the price you pay it isnt worth it. No extra towels. Sheets arent changed until you leave. Tv didnt work (wouldnt connect to the internet). The receptionist burped while checking me in. Very unprofessional.

The stairs cases had wobbly railings, the pool area had cracked tiles, the pool chairs were cracked, It was a kitchenet but was missing serving utensils, no space to cook, bathroom was needing much work, the tub/shower and walls need to be re-calked, the toilet had warn out marks all over it, The toilet did not flush well. The property was not staffed 24 x 7, you had no phone in your room. No information on how to get extra towels, toilet paper. ect. also not enough parking and each spot was way to tight for bigger trucks, overall I will not stay here again and I would not recommend to anyone, The cost of this place did not meet up with the quality of the room, .

Great location

The nicest things I can say are that the air conditioner and refrigerator worked well. The TV did not work. The front desk said they would send someone up. Never happened. The room key had to be reprogrammed on 2 separate occasions. The bathroom faucet required the assistance of a powerlifter to turn it on. A train came by every hour during the night and shook the building and blared the horn. The parking spaces are so narrow, you can't get in without dinging the car next to you. They don't clean the room. They don't give you fresh towels. This place is 1 step above being a participant on the TV show survivor.

My friends and I have stayed in this hotel sometime in July for the last 9-10 years, skipping a few years for various reasons. The price has steadily increased while the quality, service, cleanliness, and overall experience has decreased. This year will be our last as we paid close to $1500 for 2 rooms for 2 nights and the rooms were in such a state of disrepair we seriously contemplated canceling and going home, but decided to stick it out for the two days due to how much money we had invested in the trip. In the 1st room, the bathroom was missing two of the three lightbulbs above the sink. There was a missing ceiling tile, leaving a large hole open to the rafters covered in spiderwebs. The second room was overrun by ants and spiders. The majority of the outlets did not work and the AC unit did not work well leaving the room very hot and humid for the entire weekend. I will add that the gentleman who checked us in was very pleasant and polite and was able to accommodate our request to have the 2 rooms we booked be next to each other. It is also worth mentioning that he was the only person at the front desk and after he checked us in, had to run down to our rooms to ensure they had been cleaned and we’re ready for us to check in, leaving everyone else in line there to wait until he finished.

We stayed at the Mt. Royal Motel for 2 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Extremely well located with walking distance to the beach. Would recommend you bring earplugs as the Motel is right next to Palace PlayLand and can be noisy ! Other then that, we are really pleased and would come back next summer ! :)

We found bed bugs!!! I have videos and pictures. We never stayed! We slept in our car. Management is a bunch of kids.

Place was a dump. Manager was rude and horrible. Room was dirty worse than some bathrooms in a public place. Door looked like it was kicked in no safety latch. Mold and vent hanging from ceiling in bathroom. I would sleep in my car before sleeping in the room.

If you're at OOB for fun, this is a great little motel right where the action is! If you want peace and quiet don't stay at a motel sandwiched between a train station and an amusement park (duh). Definitely showing it's age and some updates were cheaply done, but it was clean and functional. Mildew stains on bottom of shower curtain were really the only "issue" with the room. Couldn't ask for a better location if you want to be within walking distance of everything. Personally, I thought the trains (passenger and freight) running throughout the day and night 20' from the building were really cool. Had a great stay!
