Really liked the fact that this hotel is an old school. The common spaces are great; especially the indoor planting and main staircase. However the aircon was weak, the lift didn't work on the day we arrived, and the rooms could do with a refurbishment. That said, I would stay again and would recommend as a nice place for your stay in Santa Cruz.

As the name implies, this is a “school hotel”. People there are learning how to serve in, and manage hotels. They try very hard to please their guests under the direction of mentoring staff. We found it to be very pleasant. The room was spacious clean and quiet, the bed comfortable, the price very reasonable. Food was not a strong point, but we would stay there again!

Positive The staff is friendly; the room is spaciousbeautiful; the hotel is spacious/beautiful; the food is good and not expensive; the center, the bus station, the harbor and the hop-on-hop-off bus stop are a 12-minute walk from the hotel. There are several night shops about a 3-minute walk from the hotel, as well. Airport North is like a 12-minute car ride. At the bus station, you can take bus 111 to Airport South (45-75 minutes). Negative We had a suite. There was something wrong with the TV in the living room. So we refrained from using it. There was nothing wrong with the TV in the bedroom, but all channels were in Spanish. The first day, we had a few channels that broadcast popular movies, but then they suddenly went black. I think these channels were deliberately blocked. In that case, block them before the guests move into the room. We thought there was something wrong with the TV. In the bathroom, we had a fitness bike, but it didn’t work either. The last night, I found 2 long hairs (black and light brown) on my bed. The bed was nicely made and the hairs were under the duvet. They were on the bed (not the duvet), slightly lower than where the pillows were. We had just come back from our trip to Fuerteventura. It was like 11pm and we were tired. We didn’t want to call someone to come make the bed again. So I scraped the hairs from the bed with a Dettol hygiene wipe. It’s hard to believe that the maid didn’t see those hairs. They had to be scraped from the bed.

Excellent hotel. Highly recommended

The hotel was very nice, we really enjoyed our room..The only negative detail I can think of was a bit of a cultural clash. We came from Mexico and right in front of our room there was a large painting of a Spanish conquistador killing/ degrading an indigenous person. It didn't make us feel very welcome.

Nice hotel, clean and comfortable more that what we expect

The staff was so nice and helpful, the rooms very spacious and modern, the location was perfect right in the middle of the city. We enjoyed the pool with our 4 yrs old son and the restaurant food was excellent and very well priced. We will definitely be back!

good hotel we enjoy staying

I was told that this city is NOT a tourist area. BUT for my needs, it was perfect. I could walk downhill to city center and bus station and malls and the breakfast was superb. You can hail a cab to go to airport right in the street, and ALL the staff were superb.

Hotel staff could not tell us where a red we were looking for was and then told us wrong Room lacked character and needed a bit of redecorating Gd buffet breakfast and gd position for town centre

The hotel is an amazing value! One of the reception staff is quite slow when it comes to service but everyone else at the hotel is amazing and very accommodating. Love the place, will be back again. They even have dance lessons on the terrace some nights!

Room very humid, all the time with the air condition on, the pillows so hard that in the morning we have a very painful back. I need to ask to change cloth’s bed after 3 days that in a 4 star hotel......Need to change curtainsBreakfast nothing special.Room big, bed good, and free parking by the hotel

One of the best hotels i have stayed in. Very good breakfast and ability to order almost everything from the menu for free so they cook it for you. The hotel staff is excellent and proffesional and help you with whatever you need. The rooms are very clean and big with 2 showers (1 bathtub) , tv, minibar, safe to store your things and many wardrobes and towels. The bed is comfortable. The hotel looks awesome and its located in a quiet and calm place and just 5-10 min walk to the center. And near to many food stores and restaurants. The pool is very small but its okay because theres nobody there anyway. 5 nights and i didnt see anyone swimming there. Next time i visit Santa Cruz..i will stay in this hotel again! 5 of 5

It was amazing

The hotel was well run and everything we wanted worked satisfactorily.

Staff not so helpful, management is poor even though hotel occupancy approx. 50%. Bed was old, room infested with bugs, cleanliness is poor, quality of furniture is poor, no remote to tv, no kettle in room. Management cant decide between themselves of what they are giving free or complimentary. Bad hotel

A pleasant hotel about 10/15 minutes walk from the centre. Good underground parking (free). The hotel seems to function as a training school (as the name suggests) and there are plenty of staff around. We dined in the first night but were the only ones and therefore went out on other nights (taxi to town 2.75 euros). Food was good but on our own there was no atmosphere.
